    - action builds momentum:
    - go slow, don't stop. It opens a loop that you don't feel like leaving open
    - just do it for 10 minutes
    - work in sessions: pomodoro + break. But use it in a flexible way on how long they should last. And the important thing is to have a goal for each pomodoro. And identity big distractions, and rate how much energy and motivation fo you have first
    - make your time visible. Having a timer that stimulates time pressure for clinical/admin tasks, it's very helpful
    - work alongside someone (feel you so much on how horrible tax tasks are): body doubling, it creates accountability. Can do online or in person, the second is more effective
    - create templates and checklists for repetitive tasks. Something I also use a lot are "methods": even if I don't delegate that task to anyone, writing it down as if I was giving someone a step by step process to do the thing, clears up the process so much for me, it makes me see where I could make the workflow easier and gives me so much clarity. Also, back on taxes, as I have to do it once a year, by the next tax return I have forgotten all the tips I had developed to make it easier, if I write it down then it's already there when I need again.
    - energy peaks: pay attention to your energy levels
    - power hour: focus on admin tasks that you just want to procrastinate. It's a lovely idea, I try to do admin days for that kind of stuff, but then I get at the end of the day that I'm disgusted that I didn't do anything really useful, while just one hour would break it down so much.
    - reset your day at the end of the work day
    - time block and priorities your day: choose the most important thing for your day, then put the meetings in the day. Very useful to get a real sense of how much time you actually need to do smt
    - reset routines and being a bounce back queen: it's amazing, I have a notion page with all the "if I feel like, then". And it's a really good idea to make something similar for routines too
    - intentional check points

    Literally, one of the best list of tips. I've seen countless videos which regurgitate the same information that's out there but this one is finally the one where someone has actually tested these are modified systems to suit them.
    Great to see those examples too Michelle! I have ADHD so I keep trying out and modifying systems to suit me to as I evolve in life and this video is perfect for it. I already do a bunch of these so it's better to see what else can I add or remove to make it work for me. I'll probably go back and watch again ☺️

    When you were talking about a bounce back mindset it made me think of how you help little kids when they fall down. Like if you make a fuss they're more likely to cry or freak out, but if you just pick them up and help them move on, normally they're so fine and just keep going

    Body doubling makes so much sense now! It's so hard for me to start any tasks while WFH but when I work from office I am done with most of my tasks by midday!

    I have an idea for future videos/shorts:
    So I love your videos and just love how you summarize such helpful advice or even research based methods for productivity and so on. But I find that after watching videos like this one, I’m like “wow that was really good and I really connected to those points and somehow I’ve already forgotten all the good stuff, ok I’ll just save this and go back another time and actually write out the steps and plan how to apply them”. And obviously that never happens.
    So I was wondering, if this sounds like a good idea for you, if you would record a really short video or shorts on a single phrase or point, with a quick breakdown, and what it is helping with and then how to try to apply it today in the easiest way possible. So much good information compacted into one of your videos personally gets lost for me, because just as I’m thinking and focusing on one of the tips, the video starts covering the next tip and so I focus on that, forgetting the one before. The idea would be then that your audience could watch a quick video and already apply that concept to that day or week. I realize this can even be like a challenge week thing, where you post one productivity tip/phrase to apply to that day, every day of a special productivity challenge week or whatever. Idk, just an idea!

    I love what you've done with the life savers!!! I combine reading & exercise for 30 minutes by using Audible. I take 15 for silence and call it worship - great way to start the day! I'm intrigued with the "future me hour" because I'm still stuck with admin hour and it's not so productive...I'll be giving that a shot so thanks for that! Also, I completely agree with the 3 priority items and have an "eat that frog" item first on the list. Sadly the frog has been on my list THREE times this week... I think I'll break it into smaller tasks. Great advice!!!

    I actually find my energy dips are is in the middle lunch hours of the day, while my mornings and afternoons (and specially evenings) are energy highs. Same principle applies, though. Forcing myself to move during my dip, accomplishing mindless tasks and the like, helps a lot with this part of the day.

    I adore you and I adore your videos and content but just sharing my opinion - sometimes all your videos blend together because it all looks the same (the background, the footage cut ins etc). I think just a liiiiittle bit more contrast would make the individual, unique value of your content stand out sooo much more.

    i'm really surprised by the body double for adhd - my ex has inattentive type adhd and when the two of us worked from home it was an absolute disaster - i generally work better from home (alone) because I can just zone in and power though things without people talking to me, but he found it impossible not to act up and distract himself talking to me, clowning around, making tea, finding things around the house that absolutely must be fixed now rather than doing the one thing he was supposed to do for work. I think for some people a cafe may be too stimulating but there's nothing around you to distract you from actually doing the work which I quite like - it's white noise without coworkers breaking your concentration - like you can't physically get up and decide to fix the doorknob and clean the bathroom while you're on your way back from making yourself a tea. my old job liked slack and i refused to use it - i sent round an email saying guys sorry but i can't get anything done when you lot are messaging me constantly - if it's urgent put it in an email. i check my email every 2 hours - i'll check slack after lunch. i think expectation management of other people is vital to your own productivity because people these days seem to think you have to be accessible 24/7 and it's so counterproductive.

    Any tips for us night owls being forced into the confines of a morning lark job? I feel like I’m not getting my best work done during normal business hours, but I’m also so exhausted from the sleep schedule that doesn’t work for my circadian rhythm that I’m crashing at the end of the day and unable to make progress on my goals outside of work. Unfortunately, I can’t get a night shift job in my field at the moment, so any tips are appreciated!

      Hey, I'm kind of a night owl myself, or at least used to be, I was forced like you to work 9-6 and I had to adjust to this schedule. What helped, I tried to push 30 min early rise vs. my normal need to get ready, just to drink my coffee in peace and slowly wake up. And during this 30 minutes I read, journal, something that energizes me and I'm waiting for it.
      I used to to this also in the past, when I did my commute to job, with a coffee to go and a book/youtube/ podcast, some "me" time.
      When I start directly the day, I am totally drained after work, with no extra space to my goals.
      Another thing I started to do in the past 2 years while WFH is to use the lunch break to develop skills. Through podcast, online classes, etc. If you do even 15 minutes in your break, it counts on a long run.
      I still struggle to use the evening in my favor, but I try to not put pressure and consider a successful week if I managed to do something 2 times during that week.

      @@oana2314 creating space in the morning, and listing my top errands for later while sipping coffee has made a huge difference. Following a routine has helped me, too: including laying out an outfit before bed and listening to a meditation (to put me to sleep on time). I find I have more energy (of course) in the afternoon if I've had some sleep. I also have been using part of my lunch to prep things and part of it for me time.
      There are nights I don't get to bed on time, followed by days I take a little nap, but I try not to be too hard on myself, and I try to get one thing done off my morning list of things I wanted to accomplish. Sometimes that kick-starts me into getting more done, too, but I try to still keep an eye on my reasonable bed time.

    I've obsessed over this productive life, chasing the dream, and now I'm having a day off I'm like " why do I need this? There's nothing to do, what in my life needs to be productive?" It's all chasing smoke.
    So Babe, I ask you, where in my life am I meant to use this? What's it for? I'm actually asking.

      Mostly for the people procrastinating things they NEED to get done and get so stressed about it close to the deadline that they barely sleep to get a better balance, I guess. I found some of the tips quite useful during university after barely sleeping for 4 days before handing in my bachelor's thesis. Now that I'm working, things like Promodoro are just not working, I can't just take a break every few minutes during a 7 hour workshop I'm giving. It's just not for everyone, but for people with very poor time management it can be something that's helpful to get done what needs to be done, I think. But that's just my two cents. And I never used all of her tips (I would never go to sleep at 9pm when my husband only gets home at around 10pm or else we'd barely see each other just to get up at 4am and do a morning routine I don't really need), but some of those things I found quite useful when I could freely plan my time during university 😅

      Hey! That's more of a question to ask yourself. My content is for people who want to live intentionally and to manage their time intentionally - so that they can have more time, more joy and can do life in a way that's aligned with them. It's generally for the people that struggle with getting things done, that feel the pain of overloading themselves a that can't focus on the important things or need help following through on their habits and goals. If you're on top of it and have no need for this style of content - but find yourself mindlessly consuming it, then look into that! Journal on it, consider taking a break, cutting it out completely or having a chat with a qualified professional about where that comes from and how to move forward from it. Sending you lots of good thoughts 💛

    I say this with nothing but love and respect - but have you considered you might *also* have ADHD ? I know your sister is, and a lot of your habits and hacks are very ADHD friendly. ... Maybe you are too?

    Are there specific places you're getting your information about what works well for the ADHD brain? I seem to resonate really well with all the tips you say are ADHD friendly and I'd like to look into it a little more and see what else might work for me! Thank you!

      A bit late but some resources I like is How to ADHD on CZcams, and the I Have ADHD podcast :) and basically all MuchelleB tips I find to be very friendly and helpful for my ADHD brain 💕

      In my opinion as someone with ADHD, most things that people with ADHD struggle with are things a lot of people struggle with, just to a much more severe extent (Impulse control, time management, focus, etc). So a lot of strategies that ADHDers use are things that would be helpful to anyone. :)
