Meanwhile, women on the internet deal with actual, violent toxicity daily. If you ask kpop fans. They'll say they had a run in with an army once. If you search their tl, you'll find they said sth racist, personally insulting or completely dehumanising about a bts member and an army replied calling their fav flops. That's what they consider toxicity. It's wild.

BTS membership is around $20-$25 a year and the benefits are far more if you live in Korea, but internationally, the benefits are that you get the first chance to buy concert tickets (a NECESSITY - their tickets sell out during the membership presales), first chance to buy merch, special merch exclusive to members, etc. In Korea, you HAVE to be a member to attend music shows or sign up for raffles, fansigns, etc. It makes it so only fans dedicated enough to pay are getting into these shows and not “casual” listeners who’d be taking the place of a true ARMY.
Lately they have been using the membership for raffles and fan calls that are open to international fans which is great💜🥳

the recent example of a true army - when Taehyung was in Mexico last year on the Jinny's kitchen video shoot, an army spotted him in a shop and took a video of him, but she didnt release it until the show was live on tvs in march of this year. so, we all thanked her and we are proud of her, that she kept the army's codex.

BTS started the Love Yourself campaign with UNICEF to protect abused children and they donated some of their album sales from the LY series. Last Year Unicef announced that armys have helped to raise $2.5M since the campaign launch through purchasing of LY merchandise
When Megan went to court with her label preventing her from releasing butter remix and she signed $100k in bond with her label(Army lawyers made us aware of this) so that if the song fails, her label will get the $100k, Armys intentionally donated $100k to Houston food bank, the hometown of Megan and she saw it. She was so happy to know that the BTS fanbase got her back

One thing i have always seen directioners be proud of is illegaly leaking either their song or a whole album.
While BTS music has been leaked so many times but we only find out later. For example JUST LAST WEEK. As you know Yoongi finally released his album track list. Well as soon as the list was released the Germany ARMY fanbase was like: "we have known it for a week, thank you to all German ARMYs for keeping it quiet". It turned out that their OFFICIAL German music distributer posted it a week early, but the German ARMY fanbase got organised and together they managed to keep it completly quiet.
The amount of times Spotify and Apple music leaked BTS new songs and information is also A LOT ... so much that it is truly getting suspicios how it can keep happening again and again.
And it is truly had for us to keep quiet because 90% of the time the leakes are posted BY OFFICIAL CHANNELS/ACCOUNTS/SITES, so we don't even realize they are leaks until later...
Yeah, Bangtan Ger was like: "here are pre-order links for shop A and B. We will post the links for Y and Z as soon as we get them." Those who searched themselves kept quite of th leak and others like me, who just waited were surprised by that info 😄
I walked out of Busan concert 2 bags full of freebies. some were giving 1-2 albums each person for free, it was amazing.

there is an awareness about consuming free content. usually an army who can afford paid content, will rather go for that because we are aware of how much work there is behind it, but in the case of really not being able to afford it, then you can still watch it and enjoy it.

when BTS had a fancafe, they had these extremely difficult questions that you needed to pass before accessing that groupchat😭I never used it but my friend failed the quiz loads of times. They'd be like "what number was mentioned in run episode 7 at 13:13". There was some next ass algebra question too
There's so much love and warmth in this fandom. I literally met some ARMYs on Discord for 2-3 years and spontaneously took a trip with them to California for PTD in LA and it was so so so much fun.
Tbh I got so used to ARMYs charitable services and kindness that I always get shocked when I see other fandoms and how they interact with each other cuz why you beefing with your people?

about the piracy. it's so funny, cause it's always Jimin who got to read or see something about it 😂 an ARMY once confessed on Weverse how they felt bad watching the concert in an illegal way and Jimin comfort them saying it's ok.
recently, he also said he saw lyric videos around CZcams about his song "Letter" on his album FACE, which is only available in CD 😂
It's a yearly membership, around $24 which is what I paid for one year when they were doing online concerts. I wanted the benefits from being a ARMY member for that and was satisfied to get other things as well.
The subscription is the best actually 😂 you get first dib for concert tickets merch and stuff like that. It’s important because BTS concert tickets usually sold out in minute
fans of american artists do not typically do these same types of gift giving, except maybe with zines (mini magazines) but those are pretty outdated. It is more common in S. Korea to give out photocards and other freebies, but definitely not to the extent that army does, since our fandom is so massive. Bts themselves have given out some pretty cool freebies at some of their concerts, like the blankets at the love yourself concerts, free coffee at fan events and exhibitions, ect.
I remember hearing that BTS had a concert at a stadium (or was it an arena then??), but there were so many people that were outside of the stadium, but the weather was really bad, and I believe hot so, BTS (and Bighit) bought a building that it was next to it so that the fans had a place to go. Also, they gave out free water bottles too. Idk the exact thing that happened but this is what I remember when I read about it.
During the LA and LV concerts I remember BTS giving fans food and water to fans who were hanging out outside the venue to listen to them rehearse.
I'm actually really glad Boracity made this video coz it serves as a reminder to ARMYs that our fandom etiquette is something beautiful worth cherishing and safeguarding. Since we have had such an influx of fans since covid, there were many who did not get to see our ARMY culture related to touring and seeing the guys in public. As a result, we have seen some fans who act more entitled and disregard our beliefs in protecting the guys' privacy. This video is a great way of letting everyone know what we value and why it is something they should adopt too if they love BTS.
I also feel that due to these more recent incidents, our need to call such things out has increased and could make us feel like everything is changing, but this video reminded me that when we look at the big picture, those loud toxic people who flout every principle we hold are such a small minority. The most recent concerts are proof that our culture has not been lost. I think of the 200 ARMYs who got to be there for Joon's concert and behaved respectfully when RM got close to the crowd for the pictures. I think of the Busan and Sofi concerts which were so recent, where ARMYs took on the responsibility to keep each other safe. It's a testament to the love we hold for our Tannies, that we choose to emulate them and represent them and ourselves in the best possible light. A relationship where both BTS and ARMY do our best to make each other proud. I have to say, that's pretty darn cute of us. ARMY, I'm proud of you.. Let's never lose sight of our reason and our values..
Yeah, I would say the fandom is quite "diluted" now and the effects of the love yourself era have been gradually disappearing... I see a lot of fans casually engaging in fanwars, saying horrible things about other artists, gatekeeping, spreading panic and rumours about BTS, and pitting members against each other :/
I miss the times when being Army felt like participating in a big, collective hug and the focus there was on the music and the members, as opposed to achievements and awards.. I like the thought of BTS and Army making each other proud 💜
@diatima Unfortunately there's not a lot we can do about the influx of solo stans, token stans, mantis, shippers and sh00ters.. We tried ignoring them and reporting and blocking them in the past, which I think was unwise coz it allowed them to grow into a big problem while catching new fans who can easily get manipulated coz they fall into an echo chamber.
The only way we can counter these outliers of the fandom is to actively debunk the things they say and reinforce our values. The goal is not to reach those people, but to allow someone who is not deep into their madness to see logic and get themselves out of rhetoric they are falling into.
I too hate the way there are too many troubling voices riding within the fandom, but like Boracity said, I don't think their priorities have ever been BTS. They are people who chose BTS coz they are on top and they want to feel badass and edgy by attacking others. I am happy about this video coz it was refreshing to remember why I try so hard to clean up our space. Sometimes it feels tiring and like you're talking to a wall. But now I remembered that there are so many new people who have come in with their own fandom experiences where decency was not a priority. The spread of videos like this could show newer fans what our ARMY culture is all about. I don't want us to feel like it is a lost cause and give up just coz we're too big to get back in control. There are still lots of good people here. We see so much of this madness coz we are trying to purge bad behaviour out of our fandom, so it might have heightened visibility for us. But our core still believes in goodness. Hoping we can find our way back altogether..

There had been more fanwars inside the fandom and outside it and i think is because of all the new people that recently joyned the fandom, some just want to feel superior when they did nothing to help bts, and others are just to young or inmature. Some others are solo stans that's been more present with the second chapter in bts journey.
But is true those don't represent the majority of the fandom, maybe 20% combined.
@@adrianamora7904 I agree.. We certainly do have bandwongoners who want to feel powerful but know nothing about how we got here and how to meaningfully support the guys. It also explains why it's more common to see people being mantis and criticising Hybe for nonsensical things and demanding playlisting when those of us who are aware of BTS' history and what they believe in will know the industry games at play and how much BTS and Big Hit want to maintain their integrity.
Membership is yearly. It’s cheaper now vs earlier years.
I agree with the point that bora is making, that we do not accept disrespecting bts's privacy on our fandom in any way, like following them, going to the airport, going to hotels, taking pictures or videos of them when they are on personal schedule, searching for any information that isn't given by themselves or hybe, we do not tolerate any of that, however I think there is more clueless toxic crazy "fans" than we would like, it's definitely more than 0,1%, my guess is that around 40% are bad apples, while the other 60% are the respectful type
I say this because lately we have been seeing a lot of examples of these so called fans, especially during their recent lives, where the comments are mostly awful, either asking them to speak English (not okay), commenting ships, commenting "marry me" or "I'm that member's wife" (all stupid jokes that we do not support and that should stop), like, the chat has really been a wake up call for me to realize that the respectful armys I see on Twitter are just a portion of the millions people that call themselves bts fans
this has been a big issue we are trying to address, but this type of stuff happens a lot, of course as bora said we condemn these actions, but they still happen, unfortunately
I think the platform you're at makes a HUGE difference on the type of people you'll meet, like in the bts side of Twitter, 99% of fans are super respectful of bts's privacy and you will get get a lot of backlash if you disrespect it, but tiktok armys are on their own delusional bubble, they are not the same as Twitter armys, same for weverse, you see so many cringy posts and comments that it's not possible that the bad apples are just a tiny portion
just to add a positive note to my comment, a few recent things that we have been proud of:
the fact that taehyung went to Mexico to record a tv show where he interacted a lot with locals and even a few armys, and we didn't find out until they announced the show on TV cuz Mexican armys kept it super lowkey
same for namjoon, he went to a big Spain trip and no one knew until he posted photos himself
when taehyung and hobi went to a trip in Hawaii last year no one found out until they posted about it
a store leaked jimin's album information before the album release and no one knew about it either cuz German armys (I'm pretty sure it was in Germany) also buried the information lol
Your comparison of ARMY to fans of music genre that becomes a culture makes me think of hip hop. I had trouble understanding how altruistic the fandom seems to be when I was a new ARMY but now it makes perfect sense.
This is just my speculation, the ARMY who came across the table with free merch might have felt like they were taking more from BTS, who in their mind, has already given them so much joy so overpaying for the merch is reverse uno card to give back to BTS. BTS and ARMY are sincerely so grateful to each other.
It was an unmanned stall, and all procceds were for charity. The merch on the table were worth about 340k won, but army paid more and even added more merch. Final tally was just under 400k wom

I was thinking about this the other day... we even have a code. We refer to them as 875 on social media when we are trying to talk amongst ourselves and so it won't show in trending etc. lmao. yeah, the membership really is nice actually if you can afford it but it's not necessary. You get perks but people post them anyway. No one complains, we understand if you can't afford it. :) During the Busan Free concert the server crashed at 24M ppl and everyone watched on alternate means BUT the live viewer count NEVER dropped and proceded to get to 49+M by the end. No one dipped even though it was a black screen because we knew the numbers mattered. hehheee we are so funny lolol If I meet an ARMY in the wild, I give them what ever merch I have on me as a gift. :)
6:54 Not monthly lol. Membership is if you want a few perks and it’s like $22-ish a year. The main reason I join is to be eligible for special army pre-sale for tour/concert tickets. It’s definitely worth it for pre-sale privilege cuz their tickets not only sell out before general sale day, they sell out before Ticketmaster Verified pre-sale day now. You’re army if you’re a real fan, the joining of this thing is just for certain perks if that is something you want :)
I wish she had mentioned it but ARMY are also this way because BTS doesn’t encourage the “crazy fan” mentality. Whenever they are asked in interviews about crazy fan encounters or ARMY is described as “crazy”, they counter it with mild examples or don’t even acknowledge it. The most latest example of ARMY being accountable was when RM went on live and noted how “we had changed” due to the spam of messages he was receiving, how “it was better to not have the comments on”. Let me tell you how the ripple effect was so fast after receiving that comment! Positive messages in Korean were provided by ARMY for ARMY to use, the spamming was discouraged, baby ARMYs were educated, Weverse was mass-messaged about controlling spam and the comment box. On the next live, we phrased each other for having a cleaner, more coherent comment section. There were still some that were incorrigible but for the most part, ARMY checked themselves. It was also a relief since you couldn’t even post a single positive messaged without it being overwhelmed immediately by 10 overused messages meant to get the member’s attention that has lost its charm a year ago.
If you want concert tickets, your best bet is being a member. You get first dibs on tickets.
You referring to ARMY as a gang always gets a giggle out of me. I guess we're more like those biker gangs that do lots of charity and good will initiatives. This video really summed it up nicely. BTS put a lot of work to craft a identity around being mindful of others, learning your worth and actively trying to learn how to love yourself and others, appreciating nature and the wider universe around us, giving of yourself freely, honesty and selflessness, being genuine to others, standing up for what you believe in, taking action when action is needed, and a million other things. We could be here all day if I tried to list it all.
When your identity is so solid and you get audience buy in, the audience that listens to that message over and over for years at a time, almost daily will experience some impact often times. We connect to them because of the music and we connect to the music because of the message so the message becomes a manefesto of sorts. A way to navigate the world where goodness and kindness are the key. Baby steps are encouraged and failure is forgiven once we promise to keep trying and failing until we succeed. That's the best way I can explain the thing that seemed to baffle you about how this works. It's not too complicated once you accept that a group of people convinced others to invest in human goodness and it worked for the most part. It's weird because you don't see that very often. If BTS were terrible people, the world would be screwed because the power and influence they wield is something that should scare any nation with how widespread and self-sufficient this fandom is.
In another world in the multiverse (if such a thing were to exist), the trauma that the industry and other powers inflicted on BTS as impressionable high school teens could have resulted in jaded, hateful men. It could have also created a dedicated fandom who could have been equally jaded and hateful after seeing how their fave people were beaten down and traumatized even as minors. The world is lucky that we're not the awful, crazed, toxic fans they paint us as. It would be a much scarier scenario I'd imagine. Not with the millions of people across the global ready to mobilize at BTS's word. RM wasn't empty bragging when he said he has ARMY right behind him when he says so because he really does. These people paint us terribly and villainize BTS but they are very lucky that RM is the person he is, leads in the way he's lead, gives us speeches/talks us down from anger the way he does. He is the peacekeeper even as they try to poke the bear.
When I went to see the "Yet to Come" concert in cinema in my country, Trinidad, it warmed my heart to see local BTS Army giving out photo cards and other BTS related gifts in the cinema. That just goes to show how the BTS fandom culture is world wide.
I remember I bought some BTS merch from eBay (because she sorted out some stuff and saved up for I think it was the proof collector edition and I could get it that way without the crazy shipping), which is such a shady place Sometimes, she gave me a a envelope with Stickers and photocards just like that and even asked for my bias for the cards,which was so sweet of her and just such an Army thing to do
I buy from ARMY shops on etsy and I am usually given a bunch of cute things, usually a few BTS stickers or photocards. It's the sweetest thing

I never joined the membership. You don’t have to join. I was able to buy tickets for their online concerts a few times. The only difference is they were maybe $5 more than for members and less camera angles. Members get to choose more than one screen to watch the concert from different angles. Non members just get a straight view or face close ups which was fine by me because it was simple and not distracting… I also bring freebies to bts events. I’m part of bts fb groups and most members do the same. I saw a popular TikTok knitter that is making tons of knitted agust d plushies for the concert this month to give to army’s as a gift. I love our fandom.💜
In the US the ARMY membership is $22 a year. I have not regretted it at all, I really loved watching their online concerts.
20:48 the funny thing about this is that, even if we already have watched for free whatever documentary or media that they have only for paid consumption or for ARMY with paid membership we still buy it later on when we have the 💰chance. And they literally comment on it and some even approve (Suga) 😅 . But seriously, for some of us , watching it free,gives us even a bigger motivation to buy it
Edit to add: You know how we already know and listen to the hole Jimin's album and we still want it!(I'm waiting for my right now, and I'm in pre order for D-day and also I already have the Indigo album but guess what? I'm also in pre-order for the vinyl version and should be here by June. I have just begin to make my collection , I got J-Hope's Jack in the box vinyl version, Proof, Jin's The Astronaut (the green one), Indigo and waiting for my vinyl version, Jimin's Face is expected to be here the 20th and of course Suga's D-day. As soon as Jung-kook and Tae-hyung drop their's, I'm going for the older albums also. So in short, I expect a really broke few years in my future 😂🤟💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇲🇽

I think most of us who aren't in US and Korea don't have membership, cuz the main benefit is to have priority on buying tickets, but we haven't had concerts outside of US and Korea since 2019
there's also priority for merch, but I don't have any and I think a lot of people can relate, cuz hybe already knows that we can't buy stuff in South America, since the conversion sucks and the shipping is too much, I haven't even seen a bts album irl lol
what I mean is that the membership is something you can buy if you really want to, but I don't think most of us have it and it doesn't make you officially an army, like, I don't gotta pay that fee to call myself an army, you know what I mean
Yeah, I live in germany and for every product I have to pay +50€ for shipping. And in the shop its not possible to buy serveral products for a big order and a one time shipping fee. So I get merch and albums from more local sources.

@@Jurnalist_ Officially, SUGA used to do BTS album unboxing videos. It is interesting to watch him commenting on the CD packaging, and the stuff inside.
Also, RM always make a live for BTS albums, where he tells us a bit about the songwriting and producing of each song. Usually the rap line have this type of videos for their own albums.

I don't have membership and I have no money for merch, but I get soooo much free content from BTS that, as a fan, I feel so spoiled! Their weverse lives for example... These are moments when fans can directly interact with them, and it still amazes me that we get to have that for free!! They started this "trend", so it indirectly benefits other fandoms as well, because now most K-pop groups will do free lives and have loads of free content for fans.. poor people, rejoice! 😆 Also, an Army sent me a BT21 blanket and the Proof album, how sweet is that?? 💜
3:40 when Jimin's solo dropped recently, blackpink fans were recruiting people to stream Lana del Ray and Miley Cyrus to stop him from charting, it's hilarious 🤣 must be nice living lives where your biggest worry is that some dude you don't care about might chart. In a way... I'm happy for them lol
7:08 hasn't that always been the case? I remember bawling my eyes out as a teen because I didn't have money to pay for the Linkin Park membership (60 euros, wtf!!) and all their behind the scenes stuff, meet and greet tickets etc. were only accessible to members
The amount of time and money we spend for BTS IS A LOT!!!!!! However, it does not feel wasteful. The amount of happiness that we feel when we unbox a merch, being able to attend a concert, support, a fundraising or charity cannot be explained in words. In my 48 years of existence, I have not supported a group this much, but I do not regret a single penny or second I spent with them. It really is hard to explain for people who are outside the fandom. I always tell my friends who starts getting curious about BTS to not even start.😂 this fandom is truly diverse in every single way; and yet we come together for one common goal, and that is to support BTS.
Oh and I have that “premium” membership that is $160 a year. It has extra perks than the regular ones thats why. 😊

20$ for basic, 150$ for the basic + about 10 Merch packs that get sent out every few months, you just have to pay for the shipping but the merch fan kits/packs are like, Luggage, Music boxes, snowglobes, books, etc. It's worth it if you have the money but the basic membership gives you access to early ticketing (membership presales) raffles for Korean and sometimes US attendance to shows the boys are on, raffles for signed albums, posters, raffles for promotions (currently, Suga and Jimin are doing / did one on one fan calls for 1 minute each). RM did a raffle for his indigo concert attendance (200 won). You get behind the scene access to things they attended, membership only pictures / concepts. Fan kits.
There's nothing like ARMY tbh and just like BTS is aware of their influence on their social platforms and are conscious of it, ARMY is also conscious of the power of their own platform. BTS worked so hard and it's only fair that ARMY work just as hard so BTS can be proud of who represents them. ARMY BTS praise kink unlocked.

When I was a kid and not into BTS at all, we use to do events with freebies or really cheap fan made merch, I even went to punk shows where people would give out stickers. My older cousins who are into metal would do CDs and casettes exchange events and people who'd give out tiny freebies (like drawings). I'm not sure about other countries, but it might be a part of the music culture of countries with little access to the global north industry.
most people don't pay for the fanclub membership, with that you only get a few special photos/videos/merch, first access to tickets/some merch, except a few bigger shows everything bts shares is free, weverse, lives, run bts, bangtantv, social media, all of that is free, only bon voyage, in the soop, most online concerts and documentaries you need to pay for but those are also bigger productions, and if you can't afford them you can also find a way
Yes, on Weverse, the fandom membership is yearly, and there are only two membership fees, $22 and $160 in U.S. dollars. I did have the $160, which is the global membership that comes with other benefits, but for now, I have the $22 until I can get the other one back.
I have the membership, if you wanna go to one of their concerts, being a member helps being in the pre-sale. Their tickets don't even go to the general public anymore 😂
Army is great for the most part. I've met some great Army.
It's the toxic solo stans and shippers that can go away. They've been loud asf and pretending to be Army while giving us a bad name. It's been bad since their English singles but now even worse with the solo content (though I love all the content I'm getting)
Not sure if you've seen them, but bbygang has some good essays especially on kpop. And if you're able to, Dr Jiyoung Lee has some good videos. One called BTS explained. She also organizes academic conferences for Army, and talk about psychology, sociology, philosophy and the arts based on BTS' works. Some of these I've seen on YT.
And a Korean music critic, that studied in the US for years, wrote a book on BTS' music and it was very well done. He's had some good interviews, Kim Yongdae

Kids would send a letter & pay some small fee; in return, they'd get a printed membership card, maybe some sort of plastic toy or trinket associated with the object of the fandom, perhaps some coupons for local businesses. I know for a fact that The Beatles & The Monkees had paid fan clubs, because I have an aunt who was a member. Yes, it's mainly an exploitative racket here in the West, where a lot of fan clubs for major artists don't offer much in return.
Nowadays, people who pay for an official membership in Idols' fan clubs get things like discounts on tickets, first/early access for certain events, exclusive merch, exclusive access to fan signings, etc. - lots of things that only make sense for people in S. Korea or reasonably close by, e.g. Japan. For a small independent group like BTS was in the first half of their career, fan club dues are not unlike Patreon for other types of artists & creators.
Lol, membership is $20 for the year. It’s basically the only way you’ll have a chance to get tickets to shows because they sell them to Army first and they sellout quick.

BTS themselves over the time have become not just artists but real humanitarians. They showed their vulnerability by sharing their struggles and joys by interacting directly with Army. There is a reason why people fall into the rabbit hole - it's genuine connection that people need. And over time, both BTS and Army grew to trust and be compassionate for each other, and people as whole. That's where the altruistic acts enter - that tenet of paying it forward 💜💜 With all the negativity in social media, for me, BTS is that positive stone (yoongi esp 😼) that keeps the balance.

I'm happy you understand Army as a whole. This might sound all over the place, I hate typing my thoughts cause I'm barely coherent when speaking them. I remember the first few bts related videos of yours I watched and was kinda iffy about it (cause once again, as an Army who actively partakes in internet culture, it's like being 24/7 online security for BTS). I kept watching though because I've become more welcome to opinions that I may not immediately vibe with (that isn't straight up trash commentary). I saw how straight forward you were about things and had actual thoughts and experience to back it up. My experience with BTS reactors is that if they have good intentions as a human being, they will come to be more invested in BTS than they initially thought they would. Seeing you react now with more context of BTS and Army compared to when you started has been a fun journey. Seeing BTS inspire you to create too (like that ddaeng version you did still stuck in my head) is awesome. Yeah idk, I hope you got that hahaha. Don't know what prompted this comment or why this video specifically but it's been in my mind for awhile now. In summary you nice keep going.

BTS members often make donations on their own birthdays (individually, often anonymously, and they have done this almost since the beginning)... RM also often makes speeches on concerts, and the idea of "being grateful, sharing energy/love/each other stories, and giving back" are recurrent topics on his speeches (his talks are so heartfelt, thought inducing and inspiring that ARMYs record/share online and translate almost every speech BTS members do in every single concert, specially Namjoon's who tends to share introspective ideas)... Fans started imitating this BTS custom of celebrating each member birthday by making a donation (giving back to someone else who needs it), and started making donations to celebrate their birthdays... And we started organizing charity projects throughout the year. It's something that evolved gradually. That's how culture changes, I suppose, from one person to another, one person at a time. Our charity fanbases do not collect the money, they simply link us directly to specific charity events and we pay directly to the foundations/causes. This policy allows transparency and ensures the money goes to the people who need it and doesn't get lost in other hands. Other times we participate directly in social events, in our respective countries, with our respective groups of friends/ARMYs and we take pictures and inform the rest of ARMY on social media... And that's how throughout the year little acts of kindness happen and we celebrate that, we share that, and we enjoy it.
*Also, BTS announced years ago that their company would stop accepting fans gifts, because the members have enough money and receiving thousands of gifts became inconvenient... So they encourage us indirectly to keep that money and use it for ourselves or people who need it. They've always had a soft spot for handmade gifts, specially fan letters and they still do use the gifts they've received... But the idea of celebrating birthdays or achievements in other ways (donating, with streaming parties, making fanart, meeting with other fans on a coffee shop, etc) has spread more in the fandom.
Yep, I had a BTS Yearly Membership since 2015.
I also learned Korean language from Bangtan Academy for over a year. I attended many classes and group ones for free, graduated 2 levels and etc. so generous of them, they literally have live online classes depending on your proficiency. Book clubs, exercise clubs, games, reading and speaking classes, homework buddies. it was so much fun but i got super busy at work so i got kicked out! lol

The subscription is for additional content on weverse. And when they announce tours they get the army fan presale options. You don’t have to do the membership. And there’s 2 types. One is 22$ and it’s for a year and the other is like over 100$ and you get a membership box. Which is also a year.
I definitely agree with boracity and the points shes making (my two bts concert experiences were so amazing and the armys i met were angels on earth) but I still think the toxic part of the fandom is brushed under the rug too easily. Not all toxic fans can be simply labeled "not real armys" and its also not as small of a percent as we would like. I think a lot of them are relatively new fans that came in when bts was already at their height of popularity so you can tell they feel a sense of superiority in being a fan and beefing with other fandoms over it. In my opinion it needs to be called out more by all the level-headed armys or else they just get louder and more confident. I saw some horrendous behavior on twitter the past few days between armys and blinks (blackpink's fandom) on both sides and it just made me so disappointed that people would go to these lengths of online hate and bullying for musicians that are supposed to be adding enrichment to your life. For every argument you'll have on side going "well we would've never responded like this if they hadn't started it!" and i swear this kindergarten mentality goes back years for

For example, I’ll see some toxic fans displaying bad behavior and when it’s called out by a different fandom it’s very common for us normal fans to say “oh they’re not real armys bc real fans of bts would never behave this way” but I think we need to be more proactive and call these people out ourselves or make sure to block/report their comments.

Because of the exponential growth the fandom had between 2019-2022 I’d say 15% is more likely. These numbers really don’t mean anything but aside from toxic behavior which is the minority I feel like on all social media there’s a much greater amount of people that are fans for the sake of being a fan of something popular and aren’t too invested in bts’ message, lyrics, etc. it’s very different compared to when I joined the fandom back in 2016. It’s just the price of having an enormous fandom but army is still as a whole very amazing and I don’t think there’s ever been anything comparable

In 2019, one army said if i want mots: persona album to let her know. I thought she was just being nice to me as i was a new fan and i never knew they really gave albums to armys(free). I just said "oh ur so nice thank you" and never talked about it. 💀💀💀 That was my 1st comeback experience. I'm feeling stupid.

No way does that happen in the west. American artists first of all mostly just come and get paid. They don’t have the same level of genuine humble care for their fans. And their fans obviously don’t act with the same level of respect as Army at all. Our society is everyone for themselves, you won’t see all people being kind let alone giving away free things that are truly free, not marketing themselves.
I really want to thank our army with membership they won't forget about others who don't even have access to these. Jimin had a hidden song in the new face album known as "letter" , only those who purchased the album could hear it but our army are too generous. The app weverse is like our diary, army share their problems, their daily life and even when we needed a solution to a problem whatever we share it and we cheer each other, gives solutions, etc we often put forward our ideas new plans etc for BTS events in that app itself. Volunteer army translate stuffs for non korean army. We congratulate each other if one gets reply from an artist. I even want to thank to all k armys who didn't went to send jhope off to military and being respectful to the artist.i purple you army💜

I think it's because BTS themselves don't do everything for money, where often it's obvious they lose money but they do it for us, they give us so much, and care so much for each other that we give them back.. it's about meaning, it's not about merch or just music, it's closer to a cultural movement (many ARMY go to trips to Korea, learn Korean, etc...)!!
The organization digitally or physically, the networks we have is incredible, even if we do shady stuff, like I've heard very funny almost smuggling stories just to get stuff from Korea... but idk love the vibe... it's like a pretty gang we have codes and morals, we pkay fair and we make things happen for the better no matter what it takes, no ill intent😂

I actually also joined many discord ARMY groups of different countries in order to help each other with the concert tickets, because I live in Japan but would like to get help in buying tickets in Korea and Singapore for example. In exchange, I helped them with the tickets in Japan. This also worked with exchanging merch. I made ARMY friends like this. Everyone is really nice and kind across different cultures and languages. I'm looking forward to my first ARMY guest to come visit me from London to Tokyo in June, we are attending Agust D concert together, I got a ticket for her.

I talk with such such brilliant minds and beautiful souls everyday, my closest army friends work at the UN, a computer engineer, a psychiatrist, study anthropology and one stopped school early but she lived a full crazy life and in so many different places I just get inspired everyday by them!! And you don't know that from the get go, but it's just so easy in this fandom to meet amazing people have deep and honest conversations about our struggles too, think of ways to support BTS, the world and continue to build this community or just have a good laugh!
No it doesn't cost too much. It's in order to be able to buy their tickets pre-sales, which is the only way to get tickets because they sell out quickly, and special merch that is for ARMY Members. $22 year is no big deal. It's worth it.
I've seen Thai fandoms to it with Thai celebs such as Singers and Actors. where the fans not only take gifts for the celeb but give out bottles of water, fruit and sweets to fans as well. They tend to be very generous to the celebs and fellow fan, but I've never seen it done any where else.

I dont know how valid this is, but it might be that there wasnt a rule change. Cause the sales of other artist in comparison were counted. So it might be just Jimin who is affected. But I am not sure.

I love giving away freebies!! For PTD in Las Vegas, my friend and I made so many freebies to give away and trade. And a lot of people that have online stores give out their own creations and it's great advertising as well! I decorate my office with a lot of the stuff I got from people are concerts. We talk about that suing BB on twt we had a meeting and talks about the issue but the admin lawyer says we can't just file a lawsuit to BB as a third party so we need to convince the geffen and bighit to move cuz they are the one who have right do so. the only thing we can do is to collect the info and charts evidence to send to bighit so they can start to file a lawsuit against BB
I saw this but they also mentioned that we have no grounds to sue. Not only is ARMY not able to sue but even if Jimin should do that (I don't think he will or cares that much to do this) he'd have to proove that he took damage somehow but that's hard to do because he still got the money for unfiltered streams and BB hasn't said anything defamatory.
For the vegan parmesan, I am pretty sure I have tried something that was really close to real parmesan but it was from nordic food company so I am not sure if elsewhere is similar. Only weird thing was that vegan cheese doesn't melt in similar way as regular cheese :D
I'm new to your channel, but I've been watching a ton of your videos all day 😄, love the content 💜💜. Army's are strangely generous lol. I used to be very active on twitter and I've done many album giveaways for free to my followers, I've sent albums to people all over the world and even threw in a ton of free stickers and photocards and handmade bracelets and keychains. I don't do it anymore, but I did when I could afford to do it, it's really common to have album/photocard giveaways on twitter. It was crazy when the Proof album came out because those are HUGE and heavy too, it cost me so much to ship lol, but there are so many people who can't afford to buy albums or merch and I just liked giving people a chance to own something physical. Army is just one giant family.
Army's we do this because we live by BTS core values that's why this can happen.

And about other people donating their merch, that too is very common. Sometimes people buy more than what they really wanted, and instead of throwing it in the garbage, they go to fandom events to give it to someone that will appreciated. Again, I seen this in Japan, in other places, I don't know.
I paid for two memberships $22 a year for the US ARMY membership (I used this one to buy Agust D concert tickets). And $25 for Japan ARMY membership, again in order to purchase concert tickets, and participate in the VIP seats raffles.
The "little fan girls" is definitely a misconception. I understand the thought though bc I am 33 yrs old and said the exact same thing when I first heard the name "BTS". But you are right, Army is different for sure. Now here I am 33 yrs old and BTS is just about all I listen to lol.
