Can you imagine the card collection this whole family had at one time? The cards that were put in bicycle spokes, the cards that were thrown away, the cards that were flooded out. They would have had an unreal collection of vintage cards

Happy story at the end but incredibly sad in the beginning, when she drowned while doing the laundry outdoors. Must have been a large washing machine & pretty deep. Thanks for sharing Mike.

Thanks Ken but I’m not doing coin finds. I tried finds other than comics and not many liked them. I still have some more card and sports memorabilia ones but they’ll dry up soon.

I think some of the details behind that card related in the article might fall into the category of "family legend." She fell into the washing machine and drowned? Coin collection was sold on the same day he died? The card was real, though.
There's basically no difference between the 5 and the 2.5. Whichever comes up for auction next will realize a higher price.
