    Thanks for the information. I spray now and again so I forget what the viscosity looks like off a stick. So I bought a cup just to be consistent.

    Thanks for the vid, i havent used any clears that call for thinner just the hardener so in this case if you added more hardener you would lose the gloss. This video like all the others will continue to increase my ability for better paint jobs

    Hey Gunman, thanks for all the videos, and great info. I especially enjoy the 3rd person view, it gives a great perspective on what to expect. I have been spraying cars in my garage for years and always take care to keep everything clean. In general I have been very pleased with the results. I have a question about dust and bits of dirt. When ever I spray etch primer, primer - filler or base coat there's never any dust or dirt. As soon as I spray clear coat or gloss it seem to attract the dust and tiny bits of dirt. Sometimes more than others. Any ideas and advice? Keep up the good work.

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  Před 9 lety +1

      Thanks for watching mate, And that's always the way but the truth of it is that the dust is actually there in the other stages but you wont see it and mate I take all steps known to myself to get clean jobs plus I use a booth and occasionally still get a job that's full of dust so there's no one pointer I can give you other than do your best and be fastidious about cleaning. Water on the floor prior to paint can help too, wipe airlines, clean clothes, gun filters, tackrag 3 times all the usual stuff. Good luck mate and stay tuned.

    Great video . are mixes different for suction guns as HVLP guns? I would think the gun would have a requirement on viscosity also? love your vids. I wonder how many probs in past could have been wrong mixes for temp ?

    Quick question I am a newbie to this. Obviously I was looking for thinning and looked at this great video. I have question I have purchased some PPG Defleet basecoat and it is too thick, can I use any thinner to get the right viscosity or should I only use "compatible" thinners i.e. PPG thinners?

    All of your vids are awesome :) Nice bro :) May I have a question ? :) I´m going to spray a primer onto my vintage motorcycle parts. And I haven´t got a good aproximation of a paint viscosity. So my question is: How long should it take to get empty the Viscosity cup full of primer ? :)

  • @TresMamboMusicSchool
    @TresMamboMusicSchool Před 9 lety +1

    Excellent mate! Q1; Most mixes ask to sit for 30mins or so before spraying. Will the viscosity measurement change in this time? Q2: Are you not meant to dip the whole cup into the paint mix and raise so the it is always full? Cheers !

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  Před 9 lety

      Yeah I did make a mention to doing it that way if you want but I never do because it can make more of a mess, yes they do say to let the clear catalise before using but nearly no one ever does it, and I have never bothered to test before and after 30 min give it a shot and let me know the results.

    is it ok to use standard thinners ie one for cleaning your gun when adding to basecoat and laquer or should you use basecoat thinners. is there a noticable end finish regarding using recycled thinners or basecoat thinners.thx

    • @TheGunmanChannel
      @TheGunmanChannel  Před 9 lety

      I would not recommend using gun wash in any paint as a thinner, The results are much poorer and it's not a good practice as it breaks down the paint quality. Thanks for watching and good luck with your work.

    • @TheGunmanChannel

    I mixed some dna diamond clear it requests 10-20% reducer. I decided to measure it’s viscosity for the first time ever and I got 12 seconds! Surprised by the result as even at their minimum recommendation it’s too thin.
