You walk past people in the street and you have absolutely have no idea what they have gone through in their lives. What an amazing, strong woman.
This was such a good interview. I love how the interviewer was actually listening and empathizing. I hope the people of North Korea will be free one day.
No chance withat spudink running it!
I am in North korea
@@chocosquirrel3319 my understanding was always that the average North Korean citizen was not able to access the internet. Only high ranking government officials. Would make sense with the way the government censors its people.
Is this incorrect?

I'm sitting here in tears. I'm so unbelievably privileged! I pray for the freedom of the people of North Korea
Me too🙏🙏
Sitting here totally stunned. What a powerfull woman. Respect. The man who did the interview deserves respect too. you did a great job
o
I think this is the first time one of these interviews has literally left me speechless.
It's incredible to hear firsthand from someone who went through this and came out on top, fought through it and now still fights back against absolute horrors.
Meanwhile here in Western culture we are so comfortable we have forgotten what hell people close to us went through less than a century ago. We fight each other over pointless debates that mean nothing in the big scheme, hate each other over it, think less of one another over such non-important issues that only exist because we have the LUXURY to worry about them.
I hope this story reaches many, and inspires them to be a better person today. It sure did that to me. Thank you for sharing and reminding us all what it means to stand in front of actual evil, and what we should all aspire to become - passionate, compassionate, strong of mind, positive, and free.
I hope you and your family will have a lovely life in front of you. I hope the good will always keep a better place in your heart than the bad. I hope for an absolute miracle for your younger brother.
All the best!
Yeah me too! 😢
Spot on !
Yes, agree totally ❤
Yknow, all these points of debate but all I know is that 🇨🇳 is funding western universities and Hollywood. Look at Richard Gere's career - the moment he spoke out against that country his career went down the toilet.
❤
Just wow. To say she is courageous is to do her an utter disservice. She has lived a life that would have absolutely mentally broken 99% of other people. I am so humbled by her story, never again will I complain about my lot in life. Jihun Park, thank you for giving us this opportunity to hear your voice and I feel honoured that you chose to live in my country.
Speechless. The human resilience on this woman. Just wow.
She deserves a movie deal
I’ll be there for the sex and slavers
I was thinking about it too. Amazing strong lady.
Totally!!!
I agree,what a strong lady
I second that!! What an amazingly strong character she have!! My god I cried.
Sending my thoughts and love to her and all people around the world who’s going through hardships unimaginable for at least me until I actually hear off them.
I feel grateful she shared her story. 🙏
With kindness and respect, Grace
The sheer stoicism and character she has is jaw dropping. Almost makes you embarrassed to be western and moaning about such menial and irrelevant things when there’s countries out there where having access to something we view as so simple such as white rice is a “luxury”.
The human will to survive, and more than this, the mother-child bond is so strong and never ceases to amaze me.
This is a story that the whole world should hear.
For sure. ❤
True.
I’m sitting here absolutely speechless. The only thought circulating in my mind is how privileged and lucky I am. I’m so sorry for everything you experienced in your lifetime, it’s too much for one person. I hope you find peace ❤
I think she has already found peace.
The love she has for her family is incredible. Her fortitude despite the horrible experiences is amazing. She has had so many challenges, that any one of them would have broken the majority of us. She is incredible, and I'm so happy that her voice is being heard, her story being shared, and she deserves really the best in the second chapter of her life. Sometimes truth is more incredible than fiction, and her story made into a movie would be incredibly inspirational.
❤
I have watched this twice back to back. Netflix need to give her a deal. What a story!! Brave courageous woman
To have gone through all that and to have come out the other side is nothing short of remarkable. What an incredible woman!

Jihyun's story has humbled me through her extraordinary horrendous story. I appreciate that being born in the uk I have the freedom to vocalise against any bad treatment from others. I don't think we realise how good we have it here, enough to argue over silly comments over social media whilst others are literally fighting for their survival from the enslavement of a vile dictatorship who just want to live in peace. My heart truly goes out to her it really does. Thank you for this interview.
Simply unbelievable. Great sensitive interviewing style also
Big respect. A mother's love for their child is unbeatable. This amazing strong lady shows us that no matter what your circumstances are YOU CAN survive.
Wow! First of all..... I appreciate the interviewer for letting her tell her story without too many interruptions. Listening to her story.... there's so many instances of bad things that occured, that ended up being the very thing she needed for a positive outcome to her situation. Her positive attitude and relentless courage and determination supported by her sense of purpose due to the love of her father, brother, and son can not be understated, but also her believe in herself and understanding that she is an equal among all humanbeings on earth should be recognized. Despite all the negative, there were also those tender mercies when a trafficker showed grattitude, when a son's tears soften hearts, when parental empathy, and gratitude for life earned the respect of her traffickers to set her free. To finally end up in the UK, and to realize true freedom, which finally empowered this warriror,d who had been through the refiners fdire of life, to express gratitdue by helping other refugees in her new country is the most amazing story I have ever heard. This is a story about a true hero. I really don't have the right words to express how amazed I am and how touched I am to hear this story. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this with me and the world.
This woman has faced so many obstacles and harsh realities. She still has empathy and a smile. What an amazing lady.
Wow she’s amazing. Had me in tears. It’s amazing what a mothers love can do. It’s powerful. My son helped me get to where I am today. When I found out I was having him and responsible for him my mindset changed and something unlocked within me to not fail him. This woman’s journey and resilience is just incredible.
My respect to this brave, strong and special woman. Thank yiuou for the interview. It left me speechless.
I absolutely love this woman, she is so inspiring! I remember watching her "Minutes with" that came out a year or so ago, and thinking how incredible she is. Just the amount she's been through and is still so positive and strong ❤
What a strong woman. I’m so happy she and her family are safe at last and she is helping others now ❤
Her story actually got me incredibly emotional during her initial Minutes With interview. Dunno if I have the fortitude to watch a longer version, but I shall do so anyway!
What a truly amazing woman. The very epitome of courage and determination. Bless you and your family!
I am at a loss for words. I will share this with everyone I know. God bless her and her family
Thank you for sharing your story Jihyun, we would never know people live like this if stories like this weren't told. Praying for all the people still gong through horrible situations especially in North Korea.
The strength this women has is mind blowing I can't imagine many people would be able to cope with a fraction of what she has went through may you be blessed in
life ....WoOow just WoOow !!! what a beautiful heart June has.
This is absolutely heartbreaking, what a brave lady. ❤
she is one of the bravest people i’ve ever come across online. a literal example of resilience. i wish her nothing but the best. her kids should be so proud of her🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Wow, a week ago I watched the video where she told the story of her escape and was so impressed that I searched the net for more but couldn't find much. So great to be able to watch this! She is such an inspirational person - I hope she will be happy and safe for the rest of her life, she truly deserves the best!
That's almost the exact same story as Yeonmi Park. I recommend her book if you haven't seen it.
Amazing, strong, bright, loving, good, intelligent. So many wonderful adjectives to describe this woman.
Thanks to all who made this video possible.
This needs sharing far and wide! I was glued to this story! I wish her well and I pray for those that didn't make it and those that are still trying to escape this horrible regime!
Glued is right.
This woman is incredible, a stark reminder of what is still happening to other women in the world everyday. A true hero.
My God. I am so happy she got to have that happy moment saving her precious son. God bless her & her family. No one deserves this and she is a true survivor, so strong!
Yenomi Park is another north Korean defector and she has an absolutely incredible story as well, highly recommend.
This story should be made into a movie. Incredible and extraordinary! The real super woman!
I have no words… I watched her tell her story before and I’m still speechless. She is courageous and brave. I’m so sorry she wasn’t able to save her brother. The sheer will to live is astounding.
This woman's resilience in unlike anything I've ever seen. Her story moved me so much.I am in awe of her courage, her will to carry on in the most difficult conditions.. She had to make so many difficult choices . She endured so much. It is by far the most incredible survival story I've come across. A movie should be made about it.
There is no love like the love a Mother has for her child. Jihyun is the strongest, most resilient woman I've had the privilege to listen to here on CZcams. Thank you for interviewing her and sharing her unbelievable story.
Wow,what an extraordinary lady who deserves all the love, happiness & respect for her courage & grace in sharing her story...xxxx
Jihyun, you are a woman of such grace and courage, and you have gone through so much. I have boundless respect for you. It is an honor to have heard your story.
What a brave woman. Can’t believe the amount of suffering she went through. I wish her all the love and luck in this world. I’m horrified by the NK system. We all should feel so lucky where we are living.
And we sometimes think we have bad days , geeezzz there is no comparison to this poor ladies day to day life for many years .
Wow! Her life experience had my full attention. This was more interesting than any movie I have seen. This real life experience of this woman should be made into a movie. I think besides her three family members that motivated her to become survivalist, God allowed her to meet the American Pastor that directed her to meet the right people that would help her migrate to the UK. God knew that she would be a blessing to other migrants that are suffering as she has suffered. God bless you all, for opening our eyes to what is happening in these countries.
Omg in this day and age how are people living like this
This breaks my heart she’s 1 of millions going through this
I pray this changes for them no one deserves to live like this!!!!!
Now THIS is an amazing interview., JiHyun is nothing like YeonMi Paek who I just find it impossible to listen to.
She wasn’t putting on a show for anybody, instead she just comes across as a very genuine person. Listening to her story of how she repeatedly concquered what is unimaginable let alone seemingly impossible I am in awe.
She is a living embodiment of what strength of character and a mother’s love for her child is able to accomplish. As a Mom myself, I have so much respect for this woman.
Wow.
This woman should write a book about her life. Or someone should make a movie. She's so positive and strong and forward looking. She's a true hero.
What an amazing woman. The fact that our government sit by and do nothing about how the poor people of North Korea are treated, tells you everything you need to know where their priorities are.
If we aggressed on North Korea, what do you think China would do? We could start WW3.
This lady is amazing, I wish her good health and happiness, for her to survive everything that she’s been through is a miracle. This is such a humbling story, it makes you thankful for what you have❤
Jihyun, thanks for sharing your story. You are an amazing person and I can only guess how many lives you have inspired by not giving up. I will remember your words.
I was waiting for this one!
I’m holding my baby girl as she’s falling asleep. I can’t imagine leaving her. She is a wonderful mother and person. The lord made a good one when he made this woman. The world is a better place for this woman
What an amazing and inspiring story. Such strength
How can people be so cruel to treat another human being like this 😢
Edit: Can't believe she found her son can't believe this had a happy ending
I went to North Korea for a travel trip in 2015. 4 nights, 5 days. It was a group tour organised by a travel agent based in London. Flights into Pyongyang were via Beijing.
Very interesting. I remember seeing people planting rice at the airport alongside the runways. There are no cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, retail shops, supermarkets, etc. We were taken to a mini shopping mall with 3 floors and very limited choice of food (snacks only) and white goods. The 3rd floor was empty.
Everyone works for the state.
Men serve 10 years in the military. Women serve 7 years.
The hotel tv had 3 channels. One channel continually shows movies glorifying the NK military.
The USA is depicted as the imperialist aggressor. Japan is brainwashed as the colonialist murderer. The war museum is something else. An incredible place of NK propaganda highlighting their victory over the imperialists and colonialists.
The JSA from the North is an incredible visit. In fact quite intimidating.
Wow, sounds like one hell of a trip!
Fascinating.
Whew! You were brave to go there.
What a touching story, thank you for sharing. 💞
The strength of a mother, the strength of this lovely woman xxx
Wow! She is truly inspirational what a life she has had - she deserves the highest Medal of all - thank you for sharing 🙏
Facinating. So very brave..
Gosh this is unbelievable how did she do it,what strength what perseverance under such horrendous conditions! This lady should be a role model for everyone who takes things for granted in this world ,she’s a hero in my eyes and an inspiration ! One of the best interviews ever!
Amazing strong lady. I’m so glad that she’s in the United Kingdom, able to live a free live and help others that are in need.
I was so shocked hearing the horrible things that she and her family went through.
Imagine if all capable countries of the world would put themselves together and help those that are in need.
Imagine North Korea empty. What would their leader do then?
Thank goodness that some are escaping.
It’s true…. We are all human…. We all should treat one another like human beings. With dignity and respect for human life. And we should always remember today is someone else … tomorrow could be any of us.
What a heartbreaking story ❤❤❤
Shes just amazing and what a story. Im so happy she and her kids are safe.
I cried when I listened to her story. I came from Vietnam, and we were poor, I thought I had pretty bad. The only things we had were the love from my parents. After hearing her story, I realized we didn't have that bad. Very brave and strong-willed woman. Did she United with her son? May God always be with you🙏❤️
I have been in the maximum security prisons throughout the UK , if you guys need to ask anything I was in Barlinnie prison Just As Ross kemp was getting out , UK reporter, I have done 10 years seriously im here to help, if I can keep 1 person out of jail then I have done my job.

While watching this I had to ask forgiveness from my Lord if I’ve ever been ungrateful. God bless her and all the others.
Her story struck me the first time i heard it. I've never forgotten it. Her strength is unmatched.

I can't even begin to imagine...
Incredible story of human resilience and making it to where she is should be a lesson to everyone who thinks being a keyboard warrior is an accomplishment. Real change is action not criticism online
Yes but everyones contribution is valuable. It comes down to what is placed in your heart.
Absolutely speechless. I am ashamed and embarrassed of ever complaining about my life. I just cannot comprehend the mental, emotional and physical strength of this lady.
