Let's set the stage. It is the Saiyan saga and Nappa is getting very tired of these runts dawdling and would rather wish for them to be rid off once and for all. Goku has arrived on Earth and is rushing to get to where his friends are fighting. Nappa unleashes one of his ultimate attacks, the Bomber DX. It approaches Gohan with such speed that not even Piccolo can get there in time. He reaches out an arm to shield some of the blast but it's too late. Not only does Piccolo lose an arm, but Gohan is hit by nearly the full force of the energy blast which ends the boy's life almost at once.

I hope we see a return to this. How will they deal with Buu. The lack of Piccolo there spells a LOT of danger, especially without Vegeta there.

Same here bro I love piccolo and I find for someone who's been there from day 1 and also Gohan's teacher he should've been given a greater role to play inm an he kinda did back then but as of now it just seems like he's somewhat forgotten

Piccolo is my Favorite Character, (if you couldnt tell) and has become such a massive Underdog. at least he is getting attention again now from Toriyama. hope that continues to be the case. both Piccolo AND Gohan were neglected BIGTIME. time for them to become great again!

With Piccolo (my favourite character in the franchise) getting such a big role in the new film, it’s awesome to come here and see a different take on him had things been different. So pumped to see how his character is developed further in the new movie. ⚡️
What did you think of the movie?
It's interesting that these Namekians are basically on track to become to Pride Troopers of Universe 7, not unlike the Saiyans of U6.
With the rest of the Dragon Team taking Piccolo's command to train harder than ever seriously, Namek and Earth will singlehandedly raise the mortal level of U7 well above where it was in the original, especially if Piccolo and the New Namekians (TM) end up working with the Galactic Patrol and start *proactively* dealing with down the road threats like Babidi, Moro, etc. Maybe they can even reverse much of the damage that Freeza's empire caused (exacerbated by an incompetent Supreme Kai and lazy GoD seriously slacking on their duties).

1:33 On the bright side, Gohan gets to meet King Kai and train under him to become stronger as a reference to DBZ Abridged Broly movie.
So i hate to be the downer in this. Gohan would not be able to see King Kai. Most spirits go to King Yamma and he decides their fates that's most like what will happen to Gohan.
Of course I explained that poorly. Gohan hasnt done any good in his life yet. More of he has led a quiet and simple life. People like Goku, Tien, Chiatzu, Yamcha and Piccolo are both strong enough in spirit and have also done enough good to allow them to keep their physical bodies. They used their chance to see King Kai and train. I just dont think Gohan would be strong enough yet nor would he have done enough to really have a physical body.

I do really enjoy this story, would love to hear more What Ifs with Piccolo staying up to speed in power with everyone else.
Maybe even along the lines of him obtaining a "dark god" power thanks to his lineage as the sayains get god ki powers.
I've always wanted him to obtain Kaioken. I know they try to say that only the Saiyan body can handle the transformation but are you telling me that Namekian healing can't do something to help Piccolo manage it?
@@jeremymitchem327 Well i mention dark god powers because I believe Masako himself did a dive into the demon dimension a while back. That being said, this what if never went into the Super saga, so I'd love to see it continue.
Plus it would be great to see Piccolo get something for himself. Like in this one, having his potential unlocked makes so much sense since it's established as a Namekian thing in this point of the story, before Elder Kai tried it with Gohan

I want this one continued, create a race of namekians that just get strong and fuse with piccolo. Which raises a question, how does the fusion affect life expectancy? Do they just average out or is it based off of the "lead" person in charge? Could they be essentially immortal if they keep fusing with a younger namekian?
That would lead to a hell of a personality disorder.

Not just that, but Namekians who become heroes of the galaxy, protecting other worlds from evil. And with their telepathy, they can essentially create a communication network across the universe with enough time. It would be an era of Super Namekians.

Shame what they did with piccolo in canon, though least he had his time in super. I loved that piccolo was able to keep up with the saiyans. Till after cell saga which was a shame. Always a pleasure to watch your what if videos.
I would love to see this eventually turn into some sort of podcast/space opera thing that we have currently with good boy Freezer, with Piccolo and his squad adventures through space. I do know that if something like this were to happen, it would be awhile until, but it’s a neat thought.

What if Kami wasted an entire year inside the Time Chamber. Could he cheat the one year limit and make another wish again. Since Kami will likely not waste time inside it, he'll probably train and power up as well&maybe increase the number of wishes for Shenron. With Bulma quickly building their space pod, Goku&Picollo got time to waste too and could also train inside it too.

Masakox does so well on the voices, instantly subscribed when I heard him doing voices
It's great to listen to, and I know he's a professional voice actor, but if he's on screen it makes me cringe to see a grown man talk in a child's or womans voice lol. Not knocking him, it's just a visceral reaction that's out of my control. Respect where it's due he's a good VA.
Idk how to feel about this scenario tbh... Namekian fusions are probably forbidden for a reason, and I feel like the casual ease with which Piccolo tables the proposition of fusing with a promising young warrior (Maima) is most likely exactly why.

Masako, in this story, have you considered that Cell would have gotten to 17 & 18 do to Piccolo and Future Gohan fight with them? I say this do to no one knowing of Cells existing and them letting the androids go.

I honestly hope we get into the Super era of Super Piccolo's story, might be a brief story but with Beerus, TOP, & Moro it has lots of potential to see Piccolo go further beyond as a warrior and leader of Namek!
I imagined Piccolo in tears over Gohans body and him breaking down when talking to guru and the thought is breaking my heart.

I think there's a really cool fanfic based on this idea; death of a saiyan, Nappa is good and gets to wear a big hawaiian shirt, yes it's every bit as funny as it sounds, and yes the title is death of a salesman but the salesman is a saiyan

Masako forgot that piccolo trained under king kai for months so when he was revived and was transported on namek he wasnt at a PL of 4000.
He also fprgot how namekian fusion works. There cant be 2 consciousness after the fusion.

Im really curious for a continuation of this and how it would progress further, into Buu where Dende may have better general knowledge from being in the improved and ambitous group of namekians lead by Piccolo, perhaps improving upon the room of spirit and time to assist in facilitating the growth of the defenders of earth? seeing how everything would progress into Super would be incredibly interesting as well, especially later down the line with the ToP! Piccolo might even know other contestants and avoid Freiza being required to fill the team. What i wanna know most is how Piccolos empire of compassion pans out, as it very well could be an ancient impulse, like the reason namekians spread so far and sometimes created dragonballs where they lived as a means of protecting and restoring their home in crises and so on. probably not quite the same but that kind of idea

Why would Piccolo have trouble remembering Namekian? Doesn't he and Kami speak perfect Namekian to each other in original Dragonball during the last tournament?
