Recovering chair cushion questions? To replace the foam, or to not replace the foam?

  • It may be time to replace the old warn and dated fabric on your dining room chairs but do you need to replace the foam as well? Here’s how you can tell plus a few tips you may need!

    hi scott wow am i ever blessed to find you!!!! i am in the middle of redoing a recliner that was basically trash...its got all the fabric off it , but i saved it and pulled all the staples out and i have the orig cushion... i reached out to 2 upholstery ppl : 1 decided to take a diff route for lighter work..hemming/ zippers...etc.. and the other.... lolol told me" sorry not cost effective enough" for him... meanwhile... thousands of business are closed down ppl are out of work... and hes being "not cost effective" ...so since i know zero... about this project... i came to u tube to "learn" thank you soo much for this channel !!!!! i live in northern maine and im scared/excited to work on this;];] the back was the divided pillow style. which i cut off because they were gross and smelly as was the whole chair..and yes i didnt touch the orig foam on the chair....so i want to make tuffted style back and a removeable seat cushion ;];] thats when i found you talking about wrapping your foam in dacron WHICH I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT ;];];];] THANK YOU AGAIN!!! CANT WAIT TO LEARN MORE FROM YOU AND YES I SUBBED!!!!! i got a sample of fabric id like to use..so i am just waiting on the right teacher;];];];] lucky you!!!!

    Very useful tips! I had to laugh at the flap being left open bc you will only make that mistake once! Ha!
