      Great video. How often should the blade be replaced?

      @@christopherortiz8713 depends on the type of cleaver but for the most part they last a fair amount of years/cleaves. For example this is the first time replacing the blade in my cleaver after 6 years

    Do you need to adjust the blade. Also maybe make a video how to. My cleaver cuts at a angle and making it hard to splice the fiber.

      Yes the blade needs to be adjusted depending on the type of cleaver you have. If you are getting cuts that are angled and fibers breaking on the Cleaves then I would reset the cleaver to factory settings, re install the blade to ensure it is installed perfectly and then go from there adjusting the blade height and depth till you get consistent quality cuts

      I have the FC-6RM.. not sure how to reset it. It’s been about 3 years since I had it. It’s still cuts pretty good but I feel I might need to adjust it. Unfortunately I am not the only one that uses it .

      Nice okay do you still have the original instructions that came with the cleaver? The instructions explain how to adjust the cleaver properly if you need a picture I can provide a picture of the instructions to help you out

      @Christopher Ortiz after 3 years, you might as well replace with a new blade. Especially if it gets a lot of use

    It is a brand new cleaver came with the new fusion set. It starts partially cleaving ribbon fibers after 20 or 30 cleaves - two or three fibers remain uncleaved. If I press again to cleave the remaining fibers they are either angle cleaved or too much off set. When I rotate the blade it is again good for the next 20-30 cleaves and the problem again starts. Could it be the cheap quality blade came along with the machine? or what else?

    • @fibersplicegod
      @fibersplicegod  Před rokem

      What type of cleaver is it? What brand? It sounds like it could just be the quality of the blade because if your only getting 20 to 30 cleaves per rotation that is pretty low. With my cleaver I have a auto rotate setting so that every time I cleave I am using a new spot on the blade. Sometimes if your cleaver pads are dirty this will cause a lot of breaks and bad cleaves. Also try giving the blade a cleaning with alcohol. I know cleaver problems can be frustrating but just have to stay persistent and cover all the possibilities and if it is still giving you problems I would look into a higher quality cleaver and blade 🙌

      Okay yea if it’s brand new I would call sumitomo and ask for a replacement because it should not be giving you issues like that brand new. I have had my cleaver for 8 years now and have only changed the blade twice and it always gives me quality cleaves with little to no fuss
