  • A/C Air conditioner not working on your Chevy Impala? You don't hear ac compressor engaging? First and easiest thing to do is to check a/c compressor fuse and relay. ( 2006 | 2007 | 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | LS | LT | LTZ | LIMITED ).
    Both the air conditioning fuse and relay will be located in the main fuse box under the front hood. Watch the video for the exact location.
    If both prove to be good, make sure the a/c is charged up and then start looking towards a/c compressor itself and the wiring.
    Thanks for watching.

    Thank you for this video. It Saved me a headache, I tried the relay swap test you suggested and my AC fired right up.

    I'm was leary about using the fuel pump relay for the test, but I tried it = no compressor. Question: Air solenoid and Air pump fuses are gone, do they have any importance to a/c or my car at all?

  • @Fisheee123
    @Fisheee123 Před rokem

    Thank you! I thought I was gonna have to get the AC compressor replaced, but it was just a bad relay. I swapped the fuel pump relay and the AC compressor relay, and both are working now, but I'm guessing that the relay is bad so I'm gonna get a new one anyway

    can a bad a/c relay cause the 10amp a/c fuse to blow? I replace the fuse and the air works for a while then blows in a day.

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  Před rokem

      Possibly yes. If not it could be a short somewhere. I would inspect all the wiring from fuse box and to a/c compressor

    So if my A/C fan is still blowing while the car is off, would this fix that?

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  Před rokem

      If fuse is burnt then fan would not work at all. If you are referring to radiator fans it is normal for them to work until the engine cools down. If you are referring to blower motor fan it should go off once you pull out the key from ignition

      @@QuiteAlrightmine does not go off after the key is pulled out the ac button is Off Mode but air still comes out full blast inside car. After i pull the key out and walk away my ac stays full blast and kills my battery. What can fix?

      @QuiteAlright  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@ACE-ry3zs Hello, to me it sounds like a faulty blower motor resistor. That is where I would start. Could be climate control module as well, but always start testing easier and cheaper parts to fix

    Good info, but what about the AC compressor switch?

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  Před rokem +3

      There is no separate fuse for the switch. If a/c doesn't engage first check the fuses, then make sure a/c is charged up and also not overfilled. Compressor will not engage if there is too little or too much refrigerant in the system. If all is good test if power is coming to the compressor. If yes the compressor failed. If not there is a problem in the wiring somewhere. Hope this helps

      @@QuiteAlrighti just checked the compressor fuse and it was out and changed it out and got it going again, then the next drive it was popped again and would need to check out air filter and coolant level. Trying to figure out a solution.

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  Před 11 měsíci

      Most likely your a/c needs to be recharged. You can buy a/c test kit and test the amount of refrigerant in the system by connecting to low pressure port. Then you can recharge by yourself if you are on a budget or take it to a professional shop where they can properly test the system for leaks, evacuate and recharge
