UPITN 20 12 76 BREZHNEV RECEIVES AWARDS ON 70TH BIRTHDAY

(19 Dec 1976) The seventieth birthday of General Secretary Of The Soviet Communist Party, Leonid Brezhnev, was marked by the awarding of decorations and a sword, signfying the arms of honour, from Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet Nikolai Podgorny. The Supreme Soviet and allies were all there, including Foreign Minister of the Soviet Union Andrei Gromyko, Prime Minister Alexei Kosygin, Hungarian President Losonczi Pal, Janos Kadar, Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu, Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito. and more.
