Those kids are rule breakers, but I had to wear sweats or shorts and good shoes, that's it. edit: And a shirt of course.
I hear uniforms are more of a thing in Europe and on the east coast of the US, but a lot of American school don't use them anymore

My school bans parkour. I'm not allowed to practice parkour even though some of the best spots are there. I've gotten suspended for it and it is annoying.

In saudi arabia there is actually an academy where you can learn parkour called flite freerun! They teach kids from 4-16 year olds!

This is a really good thing to be taught in PE! Not only is parkour incredibly good for keeping in shape and healthy, but I would argue that it's more fun than most activities in PE as well. Thank you for this!

This was four years ago and, obviously, you have a newer channel, but I work with young kids too and I'm older, at 52, but I was also a late skateboarder in my 30's and now I've been following parkour for a couple years; Storror Mondays are one of the few last good things about Covid Times! So, that you were in Ohio doing this class years ago was really moving to me. I teach in NYC and we don't have anything as cool as you as a guest presenter! Great work with them. I was also quite impressed with their shoulder rolls!
One last thought on Parkour as physical education in the smartest sense; I once worked on a project with a contemporary dancer. He was young and kind of difficult as a person, but super, super talented, and he said something to me that completely resonated and I never forgot it. He said, "you start aging when you stop moving". It was so simple but it made total sense, and it's correct. By nature, parkour (and skateboarding) have risk built in to them so it's a combo of movement and judgement and your level of skill. But smart movement is at the core of both, and once we begin to lose that practice, we stop trusting our bodies.
I just decided to watch something new, so I typed in parkour, and this came up, I've been doing parkour since 7, but I want to get better, so I clicked subscribe and the notification bell. I wish I could have a youtube channel about this but I don't, I'm not good enough for that

We had box work/gymnastic parkour stuff in secondary school that I went too I loved climbing and flips or even just vaulting over stuff.

The roll took me half a month to learn, so when I saw these kids getting it down immediately, a part of me kinda...broke. It is so cool that these kids get a High School course about this though. I feel like if education started to see parkour as a more potentially competitive sport then it would Definitely take off publicly speaking. A day that I look forward to!

7 1/2 years ago we were already ahead teaching students from middle and high school why not elementary because we don't want under age kids getting hurt but anyways we were teaching them how to free run and parkour til this day we still teach. The population of Parkour and Free Running in our little town has really grown.

I've been practicing precision jumps on 2 by 4s left over from a basement project my Dad has been working on. And the park near my house is perfect for vaults and basic landings!
I actually live close to Yellow Springs on the other side of Dayton in Miamisburg. It’s sweet you’re bringing this to the kids bc it’s kind of hard to find good places to practice parkour around here.
