I love how grounded and realistic your videos are. It makes your experience and results so accessible, and gives me confidence in my own plant journey. Thanks 😊
This may be a stupid suggestion But I would love to see a video just to show us the roots in the moss poles I don't know if anyone else likes it but I find roots really cool :)
Your trial & error plant adventures gave you valuable knowledge & experience. The proof is in your collection. Thanks for sharing all your tips & tricks
Excellent vid Sydney. I'm growing atabapoense, mexicanum, billietiae, erubescens and quinquenervium with a view to get various well behaved (ie, robust, fast and strongly growing, well rooted leathery long leaved) philodendron hybrid cultivars out of that complex. So it was a pleasure going through your experiences and thought processes as nature and circumstances guided you.
It grows close to the Atabapo River in Venezuela. The Atabapo River is known for its colorful fish used in the aquarium trade like the Atabapo angelfish. In habitat it grows at low elevation and high temperature and humidity.
Stunning plant and always informative videos. I've owned this plant for about 5 weeks and already have new growth. I appreciate your time lines so I know what I can expect. Great content!
I found your channel about two weeks ago and since then I've made 10+ poles. I used to laugh at the idea of moss poles for how high maintenance they are but your results convinced me. my philo domesticum is already rooting into its pole, im so hyped.
I like to hear you did not know what you were doing! :) I still do not have an atabapo....but Maybe this fall or next spring :) Neat about the root system too....it is a beauty.....great job again oh I remember my first time getting mealy bugs! I did not even know about checking for pests and they got in my home from a clearance bamboo plant! I have 2 pothos and a hindu rope hoya they love...also a huge alocasia but they don't seem to harm it....glad you have no mealys! ok have a great evening....it is 7 am here and having my first cup of coffee...so glad you posted!
I cant wait for mine to get this big and happy!! the internodal spacing on mine just started getting wider, but it definitely needs more light as well as a moss pole to keep maturing. Thank you for sharing this!! What a glow up omg. Love your plants :)
Great video again 😊 Love the back of those leaves!! I made my partner watch the whole video 😂 and told him - this is what my plant could have looked like one day!! (He’s the boiling rice water poured over my plant guy) 🤣🤣… he’s now gone back to his 3D printing and coding videos 😂
Another beautiful plant, thank you for sharing your plant journey. You're also making me learn centimeters vs inches and Celsius vs Fahrenheit. I'm always looking up the conversion; one of these days it'll stick & I won't have to keep looking it up.
Today I found Philodendron Atabapoense at a Bunnings, cost $4.95 for a tube stock size. Not in good condition and bone dry, some of its' mates had already passed so I took this hone home and a soak in "Foliage" and already is shown signs of recovery. Do check at your local Bunnings as I've found lots of great little tube stock philodendrons and they're doing great.
I got one from the bunning’s discount section for 10 bucks without knowing it’s considered a “rare plant” in the community 😅 It looked ok in store but it started rotting from the bottom after coming home so I had to root a cutting from the top appreciate the great vid!
So my question… do you still grow new climbing plants? (What plants Can we Look Forward to) For Many plant influencers i See them Running out of content After a while.
I just purchased one- it is full and equally round on all sides. I want it to grow tall but concerned about how big around it may spread. Looks like there are actually two plants side by side but entertwined. Should I try to split it?? Thanks for any advice!
Love ❤️ it 👀 i been transitioning my plants into leca because i never thought they would grow this huge in soil , but now I'm sure I'm going to try soil and adding moss poles again💕🤭
Heyho My english isnt good enough, so i will write in german. I hope, its okay for u.

The moment you turned the plant to show the roots in the pole. Jeeez those reddish backsides! What a beauty.
I loved this video and seeing some of the challenges you had early on! Thank you for sharing!!

If it’s at bunnings, it’s definitely not considered ‘rare’ hehe :P but rare or not, who cares as long as it looks great :)

Quality over quantity but there are definitely a few smaller ones in my collection :)
Totally random, but where did you get that adorable pedestal/bed for your cat? It fits the aesthetic so perfectly!
The brand is called ‘Mayitwill’ :)
❤️
Indeed, why paid a holly grail price when you can have one stunning specimen Like this 😁
This philodendron is just like me, if you want me to establish somewhere, don't rush me
Where do you get those large clear pots? The only ones I can find are rather shallow bc they're for orchids.
Bunnings :)

That’s really your personal preference, but yes they will take up a loooot of space 🫣🫣
@@sydneyplantguy thank you so much! When I repot it I will see if I can easily separate and decide then. Thanks for your advice!!!
How does one tell the difference between this and a Spiritus Sancti please?
Mainly the growth pattern & leaf shape :) but they look similar :)
Love ❤️ it 👀 i been transitioning my plants into leca because i never thought they would grow this huge in soil , but now I'm sure I'm going to try soil and adding moss poles again💕🤭
the leaf shape is sus i need one
Is your plant just a atabapoense or was it crossed with a billietiae?
It was sold to me as just atabapoense but suppose you’ll never know for sure 🤷🏻♂️
Does this plant produce a flower?
I can but it’s grown for foliage
