I saw the hillbillies play live twice at Ronny Scott’s Jazz club in London . Two amazing nights . I was sitting at a table with my girlfriend (now wife) with MK only 6 feet away. What a beautiful time we had.

Thank you for your reaction! Love this version of this song with the addition of the banjo. 'Railroad Worksong' and 'I Think I Love You Too Much' are two other great performances from this concert in which Mark's guitar really sings. You would also enjoy 'Your Own Sweet Way'.

Steve Phillips, the musician who is to the right of MK in this show, in addition to being a musician, is a luthier and is the one who sold him the very characteristic National Style O resonator guitar from 1937, which illustrated the cover of the Brothers in Arms album, in addition to having played it in countless concerts and in such iconic songs as Romeo & Juliet, or in the intro to Telegraph Road by Alchemy, for example.

🇬🇧 I had no idea Mark Knopfler was in a different band, other than Dire Straits! You could have knocked me down with a feather 😮. But ya know what? He still sounds fabulous, whay a voice. And he's just a stellar guitar player, one of the best 🎸👍🎶🎼

Saw them at Snape Maltings in Suffolk. A great band - Mark KNOPFLER is a fantastic musician.

This group was Mark getting back to basics, after the Brothers in Arms tour, which was huge, one of the biggest by anyone of all time, he wanted something smaller, so formed this little group, the one album they made is really good, and their live shows were amazing.

you can react to the song I feel like going home. In the version with Mark Knopfler and Tom Jones, Mark's guitar in that song is very emotional, you can't tell more things with the guitar than what Mark does in the song.

The Notting Hillbillies has been a wonderful experience, with new versions of DS songs, some exclusive to the NHB and also other traditional ones from the US. As a curiosity, don't miss I Feel Like Going Home along with Tom Jones. Thank you!!!

Also Guy Fletcher on keyboards like he was in Dire Straits and with Mark solo and Paul Franklin on pedal steel, who played with Dire Straits on the final album and during the final tour.

My life would´ve been SO BORING without Dire Straits/Mark Knofler. Outstanding Musician.
His new "Two pairs of hands" are simply fantastic.
    Cheers from Denmark

It's not a bad song, but it's far from the best from NH. You should check out 'Your Own Sweet Way', or 'Feel Like Going Home', or if you want some more upbeat song, 'I Think I Love You Too Much' is also great. But whatever you do, always stick to the live versions 😉

He got tired of the big stadion concerts after touring 2 years touring after the Brothers in arms album,so he hooked up with some old friends and made The Nothing Hillbillies and he could play in smaller places,he didn't like the big concerts......
