    Why wouldn't you just turn off the gridlines instead? Would save you a step everytime!

      It's more clicks to turn off the grid then turn it back on than to use the square.

    If you don’t have or want to get that second program you could also save the snipped image and put it in an picture to svg converter online and that would save you time. If there are several colors/layers you could also separate the layers so they’re not touching (and without resizing anything) and then screenshot the screen and put it in the converter.

      The thing for me is the snippet tool lowers the quality so things are blurry 😞

    You can skip the step of pulling in a box, resizing, etc…and just click the top, left corner of the grid until the grid disappears. Love the snipping tool!

    Holding your [Windows button + Left Shift + S] will auto snipping tool for you, then you move your mouse to highlight the section you want to screen shot and it will auto pop up a save box from your clipboard.. a faster action :).. but thank you very much for showing us another way to save from DS :)

    this is very helpful, but you don't even need the shape. if you want to save a step you can just click the little box on the left corner for the grid and the lines can be eliminated! even quicker! :D thanks for sharing steps!

    Hello all :)....all files/images you save in design space also save to your pc IF you clicked the button in design space to save to pc.
    mine is in LOCAL DRIVE C: then click USERS and then your name, then CRICUT DESIGN SPACE,
    then LOCAL DATA, then CANVAS.the numbered list is all the image files saved to your pc, for me the first folder contain only my projects i worked on and not shapes ect from design space like the rest of the numbered files do have....hope this helps whom ever is reading this in 2022 :)...NOTE haha snipping tool is much faster...SHIFT + WINDOWS KEY and press S.

    Am unable to save my work after I change my svg in VinylMaster somehow. Its says "This option is not available in Demo version". Help!!

      It sounds like it may be blocked with the demo. I recommend upgrading to the full version. It’s extremely worth it.

    How did you get it to look like that on the font? The black but the text is hollowed out

      Use the rectangle and put the font in front of it, then slice and keep the box discarding the text.

    Have to then worry about a super pixelated design after saving. A design such as this would be super easy to accommodate. Anything smaller would be super pixelated. Great idea, but not the best for smaller images, unfortunately :(

      search your windows system for snipping tool, its not in design space :)

      use the shift key and the windows flag key next to the alt button and press the s key all at the same time and it will pull up the snipping tool

      It’s a Windows tool. Use the search option to find it.
      If you’re Mac, use Command+Shift+5

    The whole point of me using cricut was to slice words out of an image and now the only way to get it out of this app is to leave a background that I was trying to remove. RIDICULOUS! I dont want a back ground, I want a transparent background. this is so stupid they dont have a real export option on the app.

      GIMP is a free option that allows you to remove backgrounds from images with their Color To Alpha feature.

    By definition this is not "exporting." And the fact that this video comes up was super frustrating.
    This is fine if you don't need something exported at a given size, but taking a screenshot does not give you a 1:1 sized export if you need to print something you designed in Cricut.

    This didn’t solve anything Lol 🤦‍♀️ this isn’t exporting svgs this is take a screenshot Lol but i guess for new users it could be helpful? Unfortunately there is not a way to export your saved files/projects from design space into other programs or onto your desktop/mobile etc iCloud files or at least I don’t know how.. it’s a bummer!

    While this may work for some cases - this is not "Exporting". This is editing to create a copy. Not solved.
