Geoffrey Arnold Beck (24 June 1944 - 10 January 2023) was an English guitarist. He rose to prominence as a member of the rock band the Yardbirds, and afterwards founded and fronted the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. In 1975, he switched to an instrumental style with focus on an innovative sound, and his releases spanned genres and styles ranging from blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion and a blend of guitar-rock and electronica. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: first as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and secondly as a solo artist (2009).
Imelda Mary Higham (née Clabby), professionally known as Imelda May, is an Irish singer, songwriter, television presenter and multi-instrumentalist. She is known for her musical style of rockabilly revival and has also been compared to female jazz musicians such as Billie Holiday.
Rock 'n' Roll Party (Honoring Les Paul) is a live album by Jeff Beck, recorded as a tribute album to the late guitarist Les Paul. The album is recorded at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City where Les Paul played almost every week until his death in August 2009. It was recorded on 9 June 2010, which would have been Les Paul's 95th birthday. The songs played were popular hits from the 1950s and 1960s, including many songs Les Paul played himself.
Please Mr. Jailer is track nineteen written by Wynona Carr.
    Lyrics
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free, ohhh
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free
    That night in October 1953
How could he be in Frisco
    He was home with me
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free, go free
You put him in a death cell
And then you change your mind
And then when you reprieved him
    You give him 99! Ohhhhh
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free, ohhh
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free
    I know that no other
    One will ever do
    And I know the answer
    Is all up to you
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free, go free
I've been down here so often
You don't even ask my name
And if you keep him all his life
I'll be here just the same, ohhhh
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free, ohhh yeah
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man, won't you let my man, let him, let him go free, ohhhh
    That night in October 1953
How could he be in Frisco
    He was home with me
    Please Mr. Jailer
Won't you let my man go free, go free, go free, go free, go free, go free
