      @@tullyryan4053 These are H6 not V6 but yes they are good first cars overall especially if you live in a climate with snow. The reliability isn't bad and most can get past 200k miles. I have a 2.5i 4cyl and its at about 209k right now. Just always check your oil at least once every two weeks, and change it frequently.

    • @Kacpa2
      @Kacpa2 Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@tysone1254 2.0L ej and 3.0L ez are both much more reliable than ej25 engines so its even a better choice.
      All horror stories about subarus are exclusively the fault of subaru being lazy and stupid about ej25, by using cheap gaskets in naturallt aspirated ones(which were like 80% of their sales in usa on most models) and turbo ej25 being an afterthought bored out design based of ej22 and they messed up design wise with cooling, uel headers cooked even the better mls headgaskets to death as well as piston ringlands on turbo models and combined with overly wide oil pan and relatively high oil consumption when driving hard, endagered it with oil starvation.
      EJ20/ej22 in all variants had a narrow oil pan and equal lenght headers and adequate cooling, so those never had these flaws and failures. EZ30 the same.
      Subaru tarnished their reputation with ej25 because of how often it was chosen in US spec imprezas, foresters, legacies and outbacks throughtout the 2000s

    I hope that facelift was in S# - the flat 6 sounds amazing I think the comments on its sound was a bit - muted... you need to install a good quality SS cat back exhaust to unleash the sound of these engines - raptor headers will really make it sing. I have one of these sedans for moving onto 8 years - its extremely reliable and does everything I need a car to do and the gear changes are concise and you can take sharp corners in 4th if you wanted. Another thing is you can map the ECU for 99 RON or premium unleaded fuel also, which is what I have done and it makes a big difference.

I don’t know the reason but they ultimately opted for a twin-scroll 2.5 engine. It would make more financial sense to keep the s402 stock as they are supposed to be rare and collectible. Took it in for that exactly and they said it’s fine, I think I might have to go to another one just in case 🫣

    Is 5th in the turbo taller than 6th in the 3.0? Surely not ?

      Didn’t go fast enough to find out, but the 5 speed definitely has longer gears

    Surprise boost always feels quicker but it's just moment of acceleration. Over the same distance I think the 3.0 would have it. Just a smoother curve.

    But at the end of the day, it's an obvious decision which car you'd take home.

      @KiwiCarLife  Před 10 měsíci

      Hahah well yeah owning a 3.0R legacy and 130i, the BMW is definitely the better drivers car. Partly coz it's done way less k's so feels tighter, but RWD > AWD, I6 > F6, trans and steering feel is better, nicer interior etc.
