I wish many would listen to The Everly Brothers, such good lyrics, I love them on the other side of the world. They often made me cry because of my loss of my daughter. I also got to meet them, and I've never forgotten that event. I was deeply saddened when Phil died.
I met them in Nashville, Indiana at The Little Nashville Opry House (I think that was the name of the place). It's been years ago, but I still have photos of the event up on my Facebook page. Phil was very kind to me. I got an album I'd had since age 13 autographed. I told Phil I had loved their music for decades, and he made some remark about how I looked so young. :>)

Don and Phil Everly were the best. Heavenly harmony and songs that stayed with you were their specialty. I saw them live in Phoenix back in the sixties at some small venue. They were magical. R.I.P. Phil Everly.

This is my favourite Everly Brothers track. My Dad loves the Everlys and when I was little I went on a school trip to somewhere in Dorset (I think) and Dad leant me his Everlys cassette from his car so I could listen to it on my personal cassette player. :) Memories... I think this was the first track... but I used to listen to this one over and over. xxx

Written specially for the Everlys: Though it seems perfect for Linda McCartney, McCartney's own version still existed strictly as a demonstration recording, which he had still not released publicly, as of the middle of December 2016. Nor was he known, by then, to have performed it in concert or recorded any full-fledged studio versions of it.

This has always been my fave song by the Everley brothers. Only found out yesterday when we went to see an Everleys tribute act that it was written by Paul mccartney. No wonder it was my fave lol.
Thing about Paul mccartney is even when he gives songs to others to sing they're top notch quality songs and you don't always know its one of his whereas Barry gibb, bless him, always seemed to want to appear on the songs he wrote for other people so you were left in no doubt as to who wrote it.

I first heard the Everly’s back in high school, bare in mind it was my sophomore year in 2014-2015. I was already a Beatles fanatic by that point so I wanted to get into the artists that shaped them. I was hooked instantly. The Beatles were what cemented me wanting to do music as a career, and I listened to their harmonies a lot and studied them, but it wasn’t until listening to Don and Phil where I learned how to add my own harmony and to arrange my voice to do more than sing lead. Their music has always been one of those safe havens for me, and I will always adore Don and Phil as one of my biggest musical influences. Rest easy to them both as I know the heavens will always be comforted by their voices✌🏻💙🕊️
