    We have 2 hoselinks , I’ve had to do this on one and with my short fat fingers it’s a ordeal.
    I would like to see Hoselink put a inspection hole adjacent to the top pulley, I might even do it myself the next time it needs adjustment.
    Thanks for the video.

      @@wickedgahdenguy9257 I had a different problem. My spring came off the spool. I used your method to get the hose retracted, but each time I pulled the hose out, the spool unwound with no spring tension. Very expensive junk. I found a way to rewind the spring, but did not find a way to secure the spring to the spool. So no I have a 30m hose that needs to be rewound by hand

      Mine not retracting at all. Anyone knows how to make the tensioning tool?

    • @blaqwize1103
      @blaqwize1103 Před rokem

      @@gregkhouw take off the side cap. Get a piece of timber and screw 3 screws into it that are equidistant to the to the screw holes in the side hoselink hose. Remove the 3 screws in the hoselink and screw your timber into the vacant holes, and start winding. This is slightly dangerous, and if you are like me, it won’t fix the problem because your problem may be that you spring has come of the spool on the outside edge. In which case, once the spring is tensioned, the spring probably slide off the spool again. So the real problem maybe securing the spring to the spool, and you will have to take the hose housing apart to do that.

    Nice job!!! Your video and instructions seem like I am not going to get as aggravated as I normally would. Mine is all "cross winded". My first step was going to be start removing screws. I feared that might result in a "Boing" with some spring Flying out and hitting me in the head. Now, I'm going out with my channel locks and try your way! THANKS!!!

    My problem is that I’ve got birds nesting in both of my hoselinks with small twigs binding up everything. I have no idea on how to remove casing to get the twigs out.

    • @wickedgahdenguy9257
      @wickedgahdenguy9257  Před rokem

      OH NO!!! I feel like you should be able to separate the two halves of the casing. The main issue though would be the tensioner on the reel and winding it up properly before reassembling. Have you had a chance to attempt yet?

    Why didn't the Hoselink manufacturer install it correctly in the first place? I'd be annoyed.

    • @wickedgahdenguy9257
      @wickedgahdenguy9257  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for the comment. My understanding after communicating with hoselink is the retractor can move when in transit causing it to not line up properly. I've also noticed it can get "knocked off rhythm" which results in misalignment from regular use. Overall, we're really happy with the reeel, but its definitely not perfect.

    I don’t understand how to get the belt off?

    • @wickedgahdenguy9257
      @wickedgahdenguy9257  Před rokem +1

      Hi @marklamb258! Thank you for the comment. When i wedged the handle of the pliers behind the belt, I then began to pull the hose out which released the tension on the pulley. This allowed me to start moving the pliers back toward the opening of the reel and pulling the belt off. When reinstalling the belt, you need to do something similar to release the tension which allows you to slide the belt back on. If you have a flashlight, or headlamp that will help to light up the inside of the reel. I hope this helps!

    The product misaligns itself and there's no easy access to perform maintenance. This is a bad design and for what it costs, I'm not sure it's worth it. Were I not around, there is no way my mom could get this troublesome hose out of the way on her own.

    I wish I could say that this was helpful, but unfortunately, it wasn't. I couldn't see what in the world you were doing with the wrench/tool handle when messing with the belt. I feel even more dumb now than ever 🙄. Hoselink sucks, as expensive as these things are (and I own 3, which all 3 have issues). This shouldn't be happening. But I understand that things do happen, so knowing this they could atleast provide easier instructions, some that won't cause an owners fingers to get ripped off while trying to follow these (their) instructions to fix this known issue. Thry should have a recall on these things.
