I think the purpose of the bangs wasn't to make them look younger but more of to emphasize that it was an event from the past when bangs were "in". I mean, when was this supposed be? 2005?
The fact that Harvey said straight to Hardman's face "I've seen you with her, and I know you love her, and this has nothing to do with that" just shows how cold and terrifying Harvey can be.
This scene is taken to another level when we eventually learn about Harvey's Mother. This was a blade Harvey had fun wielding as he ruptured Daniel.
Harvey is a shady as character with very dynamic morals, even when it comes to his love life, but the one thing he can't stand are cheaters.

Man the hierarchy of the firm always confused me, there’s meant to be like 20 senior partners yet Harvey has had one of the best offices since junior partnership, and none of the other partners seem to care when the two most recent senior partners (Harvey and Louis) are the first to become name partners

@@EzraLidovho-GreyXV I'm a new fan to the series so the head canons pretty much write themselves. The show's subtext is all about family with how mergers are called marriages, senior attorneys are referred to as the parents of the younger attorneys, etc.

Hardman stopped his usual day-to-day, but he wasn't bought out. His name was still on the wall.
He was resigning as managing partner. He was still a named partner. Unspoken here was that he wasn’t welcome back or they’d tell his wife about the affair. When she died, he made his comeback.

Harvey's bluffing about the wife, right? Like... he wouldn't actually do this to a dying woman. Why hasn't Hardman caught onto his bluffs already?
Because it wasn't a bluff. Harvey plays the man and he knew Hardman would budge, but he needed Hardman to know it was for real. No different than pointing a gun to your head, you have control over the trigger, doesn't mean the gun is empty.
Remember when we looked down on Louis for using blackmail to get his name on the wall?
Yeah I know that Harvey is doing this on Jessica’s behalf and she claims to have no idea he did this. But Harvey also used Blackmail to retain his senior partnership in the pilot episode. I suppose it’s how they pulled it off. Harvey in both instances kept his cool while telling both Hardman and Jessica what he will do if they don’t agree to his terms. Louis was just a big ball of rage and making demands left, right and centre.
Just that Hardman if he stayed would have hold down Harvey. With Jessica being managing partner Harvey still had to earn his promotions, but at least he had the chance not like with Hardman

Man if you look at the big picture, Harvey was gonna destroy this whole man's marriage, break a dying woman's heart and scandal his firm. Probably the most toxic thing in the series. This also set up for when Harvey confronts Louis about going to hardman, which to me was the best acting for that season

Harvey is 'the' poker player of all poker players. He absolutely knew that Hardman would yield, so in his eyes, it wouldn't need to go any further. That said, if it did, it still wouldn't be Harvey's fault; all of the blame would fall on Hardman for cheating on his dying wife.
