Boats are a little like vehicles. The fun you have in or on them depends on the people you are with and the memories you make...not the size of the car or the HP under the hood. That would be common sense in a car but seems to get lost in the boating community. People think you need a big boat to enjoy the water. I have a 35 footer now but my best memories and fun were honestly in my J16 carolina skiff with a 9.9hp on the back. Me and my young son took that boat everywhere. We were on the water and that is all that mattered.
I actually own one of these skiffs!! They are fantastic boats! Although it is true they are a bit “tippy” they are super fast, simple to launch and trailer, and also make great bass boats for small to medium size Rivers and lakes. Just have the guys at south dade mount a trolling motor on the front and you’re set!
@@BigSteve34 yes I have. The problem you get into is with the front and rear decks. They sit much higher than the waterline, that’s what makes it so tippy. If you stay close to the centerline of the boat it’s much more stable.

You should make your next episode on a center consle you can find an old 18 foot scout for like 10k and they are really reliable and can draft like 15 inches maybe less with a jack plate
I'm Looking for a Trailable Cabin Cruiser, (weekender) with a Diesel engine, are those boats even available in the US? I've seen them in Europe but have not found one in the US
So I wanted one but they way to expensive, I went used , I wanted a nano flats skiff , so I’ll refurbish one to my liking , this became project nano skiff , used 11’ ft boat & trailer $250 bucks , used 15 hp Johnson motor $200 bucks , fiberglass, resin and materials , right now $130 bucks the boat & trailer didn’t have title or registration , got that done $92 bucks so far , I’m into my project for $672.00 after fixing the motor , getting the trailer wired and up to snuff, replacing the transom and fixing the the top deck to make it look like a flats boat and getting a poling platform made I’m estimating My total cost at around $1200. Dollars , is it a dream machine , nope but it’s going to get me on the water and it will look great when I’m done. And I’ll almost bet not one fish will complain 😂, 👍
30 grand? Don't you think it'd just be worth it to pick up a carolina skiff, whaler or mako in all honesty? What do you think about the Solo skiffs that are about 4 grand with an engine?
8500 dollars is not an affordable boat when it just a hull so sick of these jackwagons out there claiming something is affordable when it in actuality way over priced

I have one feel free to ask any questions. I will say its very tippy and takes some getting used to but its purpose built to get very very shallow

not affordable, you need a trailer and outboard which will cost you about 6k. So 14K for a small boat.
