Can we all take a moment to appreciate how much extra distance Tom must have put in over the course of this journey just walking back for the video camera.
Yes! I'll never understand where he gets the patience from.
And operating the drone!
@@joanegert4276 and stamina!
Already done.
What a journey! Couldn’t agree more about all that’s missed when travelling by car. It’s why I love cycling with my camera gear too - Great work as usual 👍🏻
Photography by bike is always a winner. Perfect balance between covering miles and taking it all in 👍
The guy that hates tripods comments a video of the guy that has taken 1 handheld photo in the last 3 years. Cool!
@@Toma.s lol so true :-)
These two should go on a hike together 👌👌🍷
@@Toma.s I swear James is slowly transforming into a more eccentric and clumsy Thomas Heaton. Who was once the 20mp small sensor pany guy who shot everything handheld going out on more local day shoots, now carries a large sensor, 61mp camera, shoot commonly on a tripod and is off on long photo trips 😂 not its a bad thing, love ‘em both!
These sorts of videos are the bread and butter of your channel. Always a joy to watch.
I know this creates somewhat of an unhealthy benchmark for you in terms of what goes into making videos of this level, but these last two films have been AMAZING. Bravo sir!
sponsored adventures sound like a luxury tho.
@@doxfie. Sponsors like that don't come without a heck load of hard work. Any luxuries are well earned.
@@doxfie. did u see any 'luxury' in the video! The guy was literally on foot in the mist through breeze shooting photos and videos.
This is ticking all the boxes! Thomas Heaton, Scotlands Mountains aka Murray, long hike, Skye, 30+ minutes video :).
Superb Tom - what an amazing three days that was - only to be bettered by the following days :) A great trip, I'd almost forgotten about the hurricane that blew through on Day 2!! Looking forward to installment number two next week
Speak soon
Murray
Glad you enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing your take on it 👍👍
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto might be a few weeks until I get my vid out :) looking forward to next weeks edit - :)
Awesome buddy
I hope you're really well and great to see you out there with Thomas, Murray 👍 I'll be looking forward to seeing your side of the trip too 😉 What a great adventure and some gorgeous shots from Thomas 👍 All the best from 'downunder' 👍👍
May the force be with you Skye walker.
Hey, Thomas! Just wanted to say a couple of things
I am so proud to see you've grown so much on CZcams!! I remember watching you something like 5 years ago when you pretty much just had started and it's insane how much both your personality and photography skills have developed! You used to be so shy in front of the camera, when people on trails used to walk past by, you didn't talk and gave them an awkward nod or something, but now you're just so energetic, open and likable as a person! Even though I am more of a videographer and barely do any photography, I just absolutely love watching your videos and they have inspired me to go out and shoot just random stuff for the sake of just being out and exploring. Thank you so much for all the hard work you've put into this channel, you're an amazing person!
To get the perfect timing,
you have to put in the time.
Iconic / legendary scenery.
Great to come back to these videos after watching Murray’s ones over the New Year.
Great photography vdo presentation and trip. Beautiful drone shots beautiful landscape shots. Thanks for sharing this great adventure.
Epic adventure, what a surprise to see Murray, AKA Scotlands Mountains. cant wait till the next episode.
Skye is the most magical place I've ever been..
Blooming brilliant video . Awesome story , great images , the Isle of Skye and to top it off , hiking with Murray x
I think this is one of my favorite video/adventures you have posted yet! Love it!!!!!!
When I was in Vietnam, (I was in the artillery) the infantry hiked nine clicks a day, which is 9,000 meters. They carried five gallons of water and food for three days(can food), ammo, claymores, and flak jacket. Usually, new guys carried eighty pounds and they had to move up to at least one-hundred by four weeks. Machine gunners carried the M-60, and two to four hundred rounds of ammo. Their load was usually over one-hundred and forty pounds. There were two assistant gunners, who usually carried four hundred rounds also. Their load was about one hundred and twenty pounds. They told me, that the more you hike, the more you can carry. When I see you hiking around, I think back to those brave men, and how cool it was just listening to there conversations. Great video!🙂🙂✝️
"Forget the camping B-Roll".... ha! That's how I feel filming every video.
Your last film was really enjoyable as well. Top!
@30:11 this part cracked me up pretty good, love to see a person that enjoys his life!
Excellent edit on this video, Thomas. It feels like an informal, produced TV series. Great job!
Thanks for taking a 72 year old along with you, I enjoyed every step.
Oh boy, how inspiring!

Boat at sea...PERFECT:))))
That minimalist boat photo is mint 10/10
Best video yet, love this.
Man... am I jealous.... There is no better way to really discover than on foot or bike... And Skye.... Love it!
Hand held, shooting on the fly! James Popsys will be proud! Seriously though, great video, thank you!
Nice trip in an area I know quite a bit. But Mr Scotland's Mountains as a guide, wow setup up well. Nice one.
Less than a minute in and we're well and truly mesmerized!
immense videography. It really makes you appreciate what we miss zooming past in a car.
Ah... Perfect to start the day. The kind of video I like the most.
What a beautiful and challenging journey rewarded by outstanding photos! Thanks for sharing
Spectacular!
I rarely comment on CZcams but the donut really got to me. A beautiful beach, latte, and a donut in all the beauty after a great hike! My oh my!
Thomas I have been following you for years and I beleive I watched all of your videos. But this one was the best in a very long time. Its so inspiring and I just wanna drop everything and go hiking the mountains. So good.
I used to run photo holidays to Skye and it affected everyone the same way - they were overawed by the place. I go as regularly as I can, it's magical.
What a great trip! Wonderful! Fantastic Images! Perfect edition and sound!
A 34 minute video requires at least one coffee break but it was well worth watching. A great story line made it compulsive viewing. Thanks.
Crazy adventure…thanks for bringing us along!
Love Murray's channel. One of my favourites.
The hunger of the eye can never be matched by any camera.
Loved the donut break!
So much more than just a photographic video - well done.
Livin‘ a dream… gorgeous!
The foot spa, the coffee and doughnut would have been enough for me! joking aside what an adventure, well done lads!
Epic mister Heaton... Epic!
That storm was awful! But what a treat later that day and then the incredible views the next morning. I couldn't have made 16 miles a day with that scenery, I would have stopped to take photos constantly!
I donut know what more people could ask for... chocolate donut and coffee by a stream... Great hike... a very picturesque place.
A fine trek. Excellent photos. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Oh Yes Thomas. You brought back some good memories. That bothy. Love Skye and I'll go back as soon as I can. Do it all over again and hike the skye trail. love from Germany, Jan
Love your Videos Thomas! Thanks alot for so much great content, really appreciated!
Tom what a brilliant adventure. Thanks so much to you and Murray for sharing. Great images as always. gp
WOW! that's all I got. Skye is so beautiful!
BRAVO !!!!!!!! FANTASTIC !!!!!!! And THANK YOUUUU !!!!!!
Literally my two favourite you tubers. Unreal that they go exploring together. So so good. Murray’s videos, wild camping are epic. And you all know how good me Heaton is. So good.
What a journey! have not seen this kind of hiking and photography videos in at least one or two years.
Awesome entertainment... Thanks a lot!
Always so amazing to see backpacking/photography videos like this because I don't think enough people do it. It's definitely a great way to immerse yourself in the landscape and it definitely shows in the photography. Thanks for the inspiration as usual!
Hey Thomas,
As a long time viewer I really want do speak out my appreciation on what you're doing for the (photography) community. It's such a delight seeing your videos.
Thanks for this journey, and every journey to come.
:)
Fantastic journey!, fantastic video and fantastic music Thomas!
Earplugs for windy & rainy nights in a tent is must
This must have taken so much work to film and edit. Blown away.
One hike to make up for lost time?...awesome!
What a treat it would be to have a Starbucks Latte and chocolate donut with you, especially in this spot!
Journey's of a lifetime for those who can do it. Breath taking views along with stunning photography. Be safe and travel on my friend. Louis Ruth Photography
Great video, great photos! Thank you for taking us on your journey! I can't wait to see part II.
You generally always knock these episodes out of the stadium on a consistent basis but mate this ones above and beyond essential viewing from start to finish and a choco donut happy happy daze ❤️📷❤️🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
Thank you for taking us along on this journey. 👌🏻👌🏻
I'm excited! I've not even watched yet. Can't believe you guys got together! Both my most watched channels. Awesome! ... .... 👌
This is such a high quality video. Immersive, will watch again.
Another super interesting video, thank you for showing us this beautiful island.
Such fun! I never got tired even once. Thanks for taking me along.
Absolutely love this video and your images are brilliant. Looking forward to watching part 2.
Awesome hike and absolutely stunning images!
Been to Skye so many times, climbing, photography, camping, poshing it up in hotels. Never get bored of going there.
Superb - one to add to the bucket list. And those views! Thank you.
Excellent adventure. Always enjoy your collaborations with Murray
What a wonderful experience
One of your very first vlogs all those years ago was Skye and I subscribed based on that, good to see you back and what an adventure with Murray, loved it.
Absolutely love it Tom, fantastic and great to see you enjoying Scotland. Totally different aspect to your photography but love it more. Off to get a bum bag at the weekend!👍
Great trip Tom. I’m looking forward to next Wednesday.
This was legendary - this’ll become a proper Thomas Heaton classic! A video that makes me want to get up, get out, and get photographing! Brilliant work Thomas, thanks for making this!
Wonderful, can't wait for part 2. Skye by car is lovely, Skye on foot sounds - and looks! - like a dream. Been following your videos for a while now, this made me subscribe. Very very nice. In case I never commented on your video about photography in boring places, I found it really inspiring. Thanks for all the great content!
Thomas has been on fire lately.
Only one word comes to mind to describe this video - EPIC. What a trip. But I felt for you and Murray battling those winds. Lovely scenery and photos. Looking forward to next weeks episode. Take care, stay safe.
Amazing scenery. Awesome video. And now we wait for the second half.
Great video Thomas, stunning spot and as always some great photos!
Gorgeous Scenery, Wow !
What a great experience Tom. Looks like a dream come true.
Great video aswell. Amazing job.
thanks for brightening up a grey depressing day, love Skye going back there in four weeks time, and by the way, put your Skye photos in a book, I'd buy it, thanks again
The Lookout Bothy! It looks so much different inside now, I visited that in 2015 when hitchhiking from Poland to Scotland for a month. There was 12 of us in total for the night, had to do some tetris arrangement but it was amazing! Two of us, and some people from Germany, Denmark, France and Norway!
Spectacular, love the longer format too. I hope you enjoyed making it as much as I enjoyed watching it! Pictures are great. I can't agree more with having the camera out and ready. Very excited about seeing the second half!
I’m really enjoying these adventure photography videos. Top top work
Another beautiful video! Well done! Thanks!
100 Miles! That's great: only 4 more traverses and you could write a Proclaimers' song!
Thank you very much for documenting this wonderful trail. I appreciate that you gave some insights of lens and gear used. Thank you. Looking forward to your next video.
What a trip, can't wait for part two. Skye is such a beautiful island and as you say it has something for everyone. I've thoroughly enjoyed every trip that I've made there. 👍
@Thomas Heaton ,
Please try to create as many possible these kind of long hikes whenever you feel you go for a multiple day long hikes.. It heals so much of our anxiety and depressions as we face this new normal .. Thanks for being such an inspiration and thanks for your wonderful content.. Appreciate it.. 👍
Absolute quality and the pictures weren't bad either. Stunning video really top drawer material.
Excellent organization, thanks for the advice for photographic excursion!👍
