Nice one Andy turned out awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Onur!
Yay, Great to see you tinkerating in the tinkerage again Andy and a great project to boot.
Good to see a video of you again! I like how you explained your thoughts about the size of the circles.
Thank you. I think design can be, even needs to be, fluid sometimes.
Definitely, sometimes it's just better to change on the fly
I missed this somehow! Great project 🤩🤩🌲🦊🌲
Beautiful job Andy. This was the perfect video to wake up to, and what a lovely gift. Nice to have you back 🙂
Thanks Jim. My pleasure.
Very well done and great explanations!
Thank you Alex!
Great to see you back posting videos Andy and a great video it was too! Really interesting to see you changing the design and how you deal with that. great job!
Thanks John. Much appreciated.
Welcome back to CZcams and lovely video to come back with - beautiful cross and good instruction of the process :)
Thank you!
Heeeeeeeeeeeeee's BACK! And you did a fine job of it! Well done, Andy! 🤓
Thanks Geoffrey.
Glad to see you back in the tinkerage Andy 👍.
Thanks Phil!
I think the proportions ended up being perfect so excellent choice! And the design is a great balance of straight line and curves and flat surfaces and carved. Lovely piece!
Thank you! I really appreciate the comments about design.
Nice to see another one of your videos Andy great work I've been doing some scroll work myself this week
Thanks Paul! Hopefully we'll see your scrollwork.
Wow! That looks really professional.
Thank you Frankie. I hope all is well with you.
Hey, what a lovely project and such a thoughtful gift from your village to your curate. I'm pinching the masking tape tip, btw. Nice to be able to comment on a tinkerage video once more, good to see you back.
Thanks Karl. I pinched that idea off someone else, I'm afraid I cannot remember who to give them credit. It can cause problems when carving as you might think you're cutting quite deep but you're barely getting through the paper and tape. It is a lot quicker to clean up than gluing the design straight on.
Great to see you back in the tinkerage Andy, what a thoughtful and beautifully made gift! I agree with leaving hand tooling marks, in this era where every man and his dog has a CNC machine, to see evidence of being hand crafted, the hours of work and skill makes for a far more precious gift in my opinion. Love the BLO finish, I will experiment with that. Well done my friend!
Thank you Matt.
I really like BLO, it really sets off the yew.
Good work buddy! Nice to see and hear you.
Thanks Tom!
Brilliant work fair play to ya great job 😉🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Cheers!
Glad too see you back in the shop andy the cross looks fantastic for the amount of time you had too put it together my friend thanks for sharing your work andy
Thanks Warren. It's good to be back making something.
Welcome back Andy! Great work on the carving, it looks really good.
Thanks Ellen. Much appreciated.
Nice job, Andy; simple, yet elegant design. I knew you had your own channels, but had not subscribed because you had not posted in almost a year. I hope to see videos from you more often. Although, it would be nice if you equalized the audio levels between your voice and the music. I kept having to adjust the volume throughout the video.
It is my intent to post more frequently. Thank you for the feedback about the audio; this is definitely something I need to learn more about.
Great job Andy, that turned out really nice.
Thanks Paul. I was pretty pleased with it.
That cross looks awesome! I'm a big fan of all the ancient symbols. Haha you sound like me, plans are always changing. I find it's easier to work with the wood rather than forcing a design upon it. I like how you left the marks there, it really fits the rustic look. That present will be cherished for years to come. Happy new years to you and all your loved ones. I hope 2019 is a great year for you all :)
Thank you sir!
Stunning work Andy, good to see you back in the shop. Is this the start of more "Tinkerage"?
Thank you. I hope so.
Great to see you back Andy ! It looks great 👍 👍
Thanks Keith.
Andy that's incredible, I love to see carving and you've done a brilliant job there. I'm all for having knife marks left on a piece, in fact I think it looks better than a super smooth finish.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Great to see another video. I'd never thought to use a scalpel blade for carving, seems to work well!
Thanks James. They work a treat. Obviously, very sharp but can break if you push them or twist them too hard.
Super job Andy looks great 😁
Thanks Alan.
That's great mate - nice work indeed!
Thanks Rob.
Well done Andy. Hope you are doing well.
Thanks Marcel. I feel better for having been in the Tinkerage and getting a video out.
Great video Andy. Lovely carving work! When you hung the piece to dry, what was the panel with the plug socket and all the buttons- is the tinkerage really a space ship?
I was wondering that too, although I might have already asked Andy and forgot the answer.
Thank you. It's a power supply/dvm/extension socket system that I salvaged from a school I used to work at. This one needed some remedial work to get it functional again. It's really useful to have at the back of the bench.
I like your point on level of finish linked to people actually using something. Quite a good point in this instance.
How's the Aldi Workzone scroll saw working out? Looks to be performing well.
The Aldi scrollsaw is working out well. I need to look into some better quality blades and I definitely need more practice at the finer work this is more capable off than my old Clarke electric fretsaw.
