    Thanks guys.
Visual comparison to IOM - Less rocker, because of lighter weight which does not mandate that extra rocker to gain a reasonable level of floatation for the IOM's extra 2kg weight. Also narrower for the same reason of lighter weight. Keel and mast further aft and this translates to more buoyancy in front the rig's of C of E so potentially less inclined to nose dive but it also depends on the height of C of E which appears to favour the DF95 which seems to have a lower sail plan.
Lower weight means good sail are to displacement ratio and low wetted area means good sail area to wetted surface ratio.
Has anyone measured the wetted surface area of the hull? Sail area approx 3736 cm for the DF95 compared to an IOM which is approx 6,000. It equals to SA to Displacement for ratio of DF95 of 1861 per kilo and an IOM is approx 1500 per kilo. Acceleration of the DF95 should be much better than the IOM with the big rigs on each.
Length overall is 5% less on the DF95 so top speed of the immersed hull prior to planing would not favour the DF 95.
I cannot ascertain WS to Displ ratio in absence of WS of the DF95. I would guess WS would be less for the DF by at least 5% or more. IOM's are about 1400 on average.
Neither can I ascertain the polar moment of either without tests.
    .

Thanks for your visual ... look up "IOM Chasing with DFlt95's" and you'll get an idea of how they go against an IOM. The IOM is a faster boat BUT, bang-for-buck, the 95 delivers some great speed and quality sailing.

I have many speed boats like the miss geico 36 and the sonicwake and this boat the 2021 version is looking awesome. so this will be my first sail boat and your vid is a bit old so I know the new version is built much better and its around $459 now. but I like the best so Im getting one. thanks very much for sharing my friend.

Just purchased a Dragon Flite 95 after watching your excellent videos on building the Dragon Force 65 and unboxing the Dragon Flite 95..... Would you recommend using Gorilla Glue on all the fixing points on the Dragon Flite - as shown in your 1st Dragon Force assembly Video? Thanks John H (UK )

Hi wil. Thanks for posting the movie. Is there a follow up movie for an initial sail setup coming? I have bought my first df95 and I'm looking for a base sail setup

Thanks for the comment Warrick. On pages 10, 12, and 13 of the instruction manual there are some basic settings. I will come up with some sort of tuning card in November :)

Does the centre controls hatch have a watertight cover or do you have to use sticky patches every time you go on the water?

    • @consumerwil

The kit comes a clear hatch and 5 black hatch patches. It also comes with PVC tape to tape around them... you can use any combination. I prefer taping my covers.

The BEARINGS in the main boom assembly on DF65 and I assume also this model DF95 are very poor quality as they RUST after only a very short time and should be made of Stainless steel. Yes there is a Stainless Bearing available, and I have replaced mine. Joysway Manufacturer should immediately make this upgrade, as it is the weakest link in this product.

Please use a lubricant / rust inhibitor like SpeedX to protect the bearings. I have the original bearings and they are still like new.

I have replaced the original bearings which are now rusted, with New Stainless Steel Bearings as advised by my other colleagues and now all good - still lubricating also with lubricant / inhibitor.
