70mm piston 2 stroke motorized bicycle build - Trying a 14T spur gear off the CVT

  • My goal is not max speed here! The goal is to make a bike run at a sustainable rpm range and keep up with traffic. I want a bike that can go past 45 yes. But I want my engine to not explode trying. I want to keep this as a daily rider build. Not a constant repair build. I don't want to replace a minarelli or a saw build for 40 seconds of fun when all rod bearings fall out of it after going 45. Been waiting to try this build out for a while now with a bigger spur gear. I was not sure if the CVT would stroke out on it's current settings.
    I'm Using a Modified Series 40 Drive pulley and a Series 30 Driven pulley. Using a Kevlar belt now. Which really seems to be the key link to making this all work! Normal belts just couldn't take the stress. The rear wheel is also a Freewheel for main sprocket of the CVT. which makes all the stress on the CVT so much less then if the tire dragged the chain along with it as you slow down.
    This build has been a very odd project. 2 stroke engine being used has do much low end torque you can gear the hell out of it and it maintains rpms well. I went for High torque and high gearing. VS High speed and lower gearing. High rpms are what kill all these bikes you all build. I don't understand why most can't grasp a engine is designed for like 8k max with top notch parts in it.
    You get all these people with crazy speed claims on 1 speed bikes. LOL it's all bs unless you blow the Engine to hell to achieve that speed. Yet they don't?
    Don't you find it funny that "Drag race cars" turn 13,000 rpms roughly and only survive one run? NASCAR only does like 9K max LOL YET SOMEHOW MOTORIZED BICYCLE COMMUNITY HAS DEFIED SPACE TIME AND ALL LOGIC pulled off 15K 70mph bicycle builds? one cheap chinses garbage parts? with 47mm 85cc engines? LOL is all I can say!
    That avenger 85 made 2 pulls at 20 seconds at 65mph blew it's freaking guts apart. I want to add that engine had nothing but the top made bearings and was ported to near perfection. With matched pipe to reach those speeds on a 22T sprocket. 40 seconds that engine survived with 260$ worth of motorcycle race quality ceramic hybrid bearing inside it!
    You build a bike like this and it has a transmission to lower the RPMS then you have a monster that actually is worth building. That is all I'm saying.
    Be realistic These are bicycles! They are designed to go a max speed of 30mph and fall apart. All the cnc garbage engine parts are not going to stop you from dying when your tire falls off going 45. Buy a kit. clean it up! be realistic of speed expectations this is not a motorcycle and have fun. that is what the hobby is really about! Most have seemed to be lost in the phrase: "What's the Top speed? instead!

    My goal is not max speed blow engine up here! 🔥🔥🔥 I just wanted to see if I could drop the RPMS down to a sustainable level where there is little to no engine damage from keeping up with traffic on the road. 🧐Going to call this one a win. Doing about 5/8 of throttle in this video once CVT kicks in. Which is exactly what the goal was. 😉👍 This my go to daily rider now and I hope to keep it just that! Just tired of redlining a minarelli or a saw build to maintain 40+ speeds. If you all treat these kits you buy with the intentions on keeping it below 7K rpms. They last such a long time! Anything past that just blows them up is the take away point I guess.

    That's a great sounding engine. The CVT really keeps it in it's 'Torque band' ,and it seems to be pretty impressive. Long ago, I learned to count lane marker lines to keep track of speed when speedo's don't work well. I counted 1 slash per second and a bit + so I agree with your 45+ easily.Thank you for showing this. I'll look closely at the engines for a future use.

    Thats why i think the 212 predator build is the way to go for most people that want reliability and ease of maintenance

      This thing is a great cruising bike setup. It's a shame this motor was discontinued 😔

    I have a two-stroke engine that has been around for 2 years, I use a 30-tooth crown, I drive at 40kmh at low speed, it doesn't force the engine and it lasts very well

      Always put a bag or cover on your carburetor. The rest is fine to get wet in the rain.

    Hey man I’ve got a question and your experience would really help , I have an echo cs-620p , and was curious if I could fit it in a motorized bike bottom end because the saw is useless now , any advice/help would be greatly appreciated

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix  Před 4 měsíci

      I have never personally touched one. So couldn't be much help. From the specs on it. I don't think any bottom bicycle halves would fit well without a lot of elbow grease 😜
