    Agreed 100%. Gutsu's vault had some major flaws. Splitting of the legs at the top of the vault, and the major foot separation on the landing.

    The music at the beginning reminds me of 2girls1 cupLOL.Nevertheless, Miller should have won.Everyone focuses on vault, but floor was unfair. Miller got 9.9with a great routine.She deserved 9.912. Gutsu got 9.925 with a two meter step. seriously?The rules said she should have gotten 1-2 tenths off, and that was ignored.A fair score would have been 9.900, with miller winning 39.737 to 39.712.THAT would be fair. Miller had two small wobbles,compared to form break in gutsu vault and 2 meter lunge.

  • @rfillangi
    @rfillangi Před 15 lety +15

    If that deserved a 9.95 then Miller deserved a 10.

  • @MeanestCoachEver
    @MeanestCoachEver Před 14 lety +7

    9.95 would have been more appropriate for Bogi. She really only had that one error, and it was the last rotation where scores tend to be high. She did hit a good routine, and it certainly wasn't the least difficult routine in the top 10 all-arounders either.

    All discussions aside on who should've won (I still think Miller was robbed of a 10 on vault), I miss the drama the sport used to have. Look at us now, 0 nada nothing interesting to talk about our sport. No grace, beauty, originality or innovation.... it's just numbers and math in motion. Even though I may not be happy with Gutsu "winning", I will forever miss the style of gymnastics it once exuded. It will never be what it used to be.

      I agree that people running at gymnastics are such boobs nowadays on the floor routine, you don't see anything that can relate to the little girl like a backwalk over a handspring, they all have to do these really ugly jumps that you can only do with Springs I mean, it's just. Gross, there's no, like relatibility to the little girl. You have to be able to do a double back with a flap. Or just even like, look at the gymnastics. It's so gross, and they never talk about. The terms like when they fall out the commentators. It's just so gross now. I agree, I still enjoy it but it just doesn't make any sense to me. You know, do a walk over. Or a backhand Spring or a diabraal diabraals are pretty. I mean, these things that are just basic gymnastics are not even seen so that normal girl?

  • @Montrosesister12
    @Montrosesister12 Před 5 lety +7

    Gutsu’s second vault was way over scored and her first vault was over scored. Split legs, shuffle on the landing and her second vault had split open legs in the air and super low chested landing. Now watch Shannon vault. Absolutely perfect.

  • @MeanestCoachEver
    @MeanestCoachEver Před 14 lety +9

    I think floor was the place where Gutsu got her score gift. I couldn't believe it when I first watched it 18 years ago that her routine got a 9.925 for that landing on her mount. I still can't believe it to this day. And then when I learned that she was put in dishonestly, I almost cried.

    • @stpark22
      @stpark22 Před 7 lety +2

    • @shushunovafan4301
      @shushunovafan4301 Před 7 lety +5

      Then Shannon should have been deducted atleast 0.15 for her step back on a double pike of all things. Gutsu's mistake came on the 2nd most difficult tumble in the comp and the judges took that into consideration. BTW Miller was gifted on beam, no way did she deserve to outscore Gutsu there.

    • @lucaslobo3321
      @lucaslobo3321 Před 6 lety +4

      Gutsu was perfect on the other passes, including the dance elements, despite her coreography being a little crappy.
      So, 0.75 in deductions was appropriated. What makes 9.925 acceptable. Miller was gifted on beam. Look it up.

  • @nicksline
    @nicksline Před 15 lety +10

    I totally agree, while shannon may have had a couple tiny wobbles on beam and that step back on floor, steps backwards are generally more accepted than steps forward. Gutsu hardly made that DLO around. I realise its a difficult skill, but that does not excuse the fault. And the fact her vault got only .025 less than Miller's is just a joke. Miller's was perfect.

    The biggest black mark ever on the all around Olympic competition, without debate or question. The coaches for that Unified team should have faced massive sanctions for their dishonesty in removing Galieva in favor of Gutsu. No remarks or arguments will ever change my view. She may have won, but she certainly didn’t earn her spot.
    What infuriates me even more is how she says she understands how and why Rosa was so upset and didn’t want to talk. No honey, you don’t understand and never will- and how presumptuous and childish to say you do know. History shows her as the all around champion- and demonstrates how toxic this sport was.

    I would have LOVED for Bogi to be an olympic aa champ, but that beam had several visible errors and slight breaks. I do think she was underscored, should have been a bronze, but a 9.987 would have been outrageous and im glad the judges deducted her for her errors, unlike Shannon Miller who was gifted beam scores that she blatantly didnt deserve.

    • @annapavfan4680
      @annapavfan4680 Před 6 lety +3

      Boginskaya should've taken the bronze even with the errors on beam and low difficulty on bars. Milosivici was overscored on beam. She had a wobble in the full turn and big hop back on the dismount. Bogi was robbed here. But what about Gustu's floor score then ;)?

    People can talk about difficulty all they want, but at the end of the day, Miller's and Gutsu's routines all had the same starting value of 10.0, and they were judged accordingly. You can call it unfair, but that's how it is. In these very same Olympics, was it fair that Lyssenko's (stuck) double twisting yurchenko scored lower than many full twisting yurchenkos? No, it was completely unfair, but her starting value was the same as all the others, so the deductions were taken from the same point

    Miller did not deserve the silver. She was overscored majorly on both floor and beam. Her floor had much weaker tumbling than the best and a big mistake on her 2nd pass, and was so boring and prissy. Her beam had 2 significant wobbles that others were getting killed and and they were ignored in her score. What a joke she outscored Gutsu on beam with bigger mistakes, much less difficulty and less amplitude, LOL! Gutsu should get gold, Bogi or Milo silver and bronze.
