I grew up reading these stories. I remember everytime my elementary class would have it's library time, I'd dart right to our small section of paranormal/true ghost stories.

I am from Alabama and as a kid my awesome library teacher showed us this and it is a big part of why I am so interested in strange stories.

The Red Lady is my favorite story , I've seen the dorm room twice...I've been to Old Cahawba and to a wedding at Sturdivant Hall... never had anything spooky happen though 🙁

Grew up reading these stories and I still love them! Being from Alabama, I can say that I have actually visited a few of the places she talked about in the books

Thank you so much! I met her when I was a little girl and she told me a few stories. Her books are so hard to find. I had her cassette tapes of her telling her stories. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Sad.....we've lost the southern ladies like Mrs. Windham who could spin stories like this. :(
