Those jerks that built the "new" laid the new bridge foundations right on top of the original hole. Poor Bill finally met his match and couldn't sweep out his hole anymore. Very sad but a great local story from my home!
I was raised here and it's still a local legend. The hole supposedly has been covered with granite stones for water retention after the flood of the early 90s.
I was a little young girl when our school took a field trip to Reform, Alabama n saw the face in court house window. To my knowledge when I graduated in 1960 the face was still there. Now I am glad this story is being told. What is done in the dark will come to light.
i have a friend who filled the hole with leaves and put his sleepingbag on it. he awoke the next morning slightly away from the hole and found the leaves he had put in it swept to the side...
I think I saw him on the side of the road near there! My husband didn't see him, it was dusk out. I saw a man on the side of the road and I said omg you see him? What's he doing? My husband said I don't see anyone... Thanks for making me feel crazy! Then I come across this 8 years later! PS I'm glad they all suffered and died in tragic deaths! You don't just take someone's life!
has anyone tried concrete, just asking....I love her stories and she is an amazing story teller as well. it's a great gift to be able to both write and tell
