- So while thats not strictly true, if you are visiting for the first time and dont have anyone to follow then there is a very good chance you will.
The place in question is Swale Marina, which is dug out of the ground at the end of Conyer creek. And although I'm not really selling it with the description it is a beautiful place and I would recommend anyone that draws less than say 1.8m takes a visit. It doesnt matter what type of keel you have, they all just sink into the mud :-)
We make these films just for fun, and we hope that you have enjoyed watching them however we have been asked on a couple of occasions now if we have a Patreon account. We don’t want to do that at this stage as we feel it would turn the channel into a business, and as we said at the beginning, this is all just for fun. However if you would like to support us and feel you could help contribute to the cost of making these films then you can do that via our PayPal account here. A big thank you to everyone that has already done this, its a great help.

Lovely to see you lot back on the water. 👍
Thanks Sudo, good to hear from you again. We might be in Burnham this weekend, come and say hello if you are around
About time we’ve been missing your content. Fair winds to all the family
😃😃
Thanks Paul, nice to hear from you and good to know we have been missed :-)
Ah, you guys are back! Great to see you again and look forward to watching your new vid this evening.
Thanks Jason
Top video 👍 I think you are brave to fight through the Conyer mud again, I’ve done it three times now and I’m afraid for me never again.🤣🤣
Hi Scott. We like the place but I can easily see why people can be put off. Find a good day for both weather and tide though and its a lot easier. What do you sail?
@@SailingwiththeFoxwellFamily a Fulmar you filmed me when I lost my prop entering Conyer 🤣🤣
ahhh that makes sense, I can see how that would kinda put you off. Nice hearing from you again though
Ahhhh , the smell of diesel exhaust, the thump of the pistons, the sight of electric wind mills, everywhere, skid steers lowered into the bowels of a ships hold, running aground, mud, mud, mud. Oh, the joy of sailing. I miss the romance just not these realities. Great to have you back.
Hi Eric. All part of the modern sailing weekenders experience i'm afraid, or at least it is around here
Mud, mud glorious mud !! Great to see you guys back xxx
Hi Andy. Thanks, nice to hear from you
Lovely to see you all too. I love hearing your intro music. It and you were the sound-track to my three years of sailing and boat ownership. Watching now brings back so many happy memories of cruising adventures and boat DIY. You are such a blessing and encouragement to all.
Thank you! ⛵️🍾🌹❤️
Hi Mike. Thankyou. We like our music as well. We do occasionally get comments from people suggesting that we change it but its the sound of our sailing adventures to us as well, so its here to stay
Lovely opening shots of Misty Medway, thank you.
Hi Sean, thanks, glad you enjoyed it
Yay!!! Welcome back!
Thankyou
Hello again. Happy to see you
Hi Pablo. Good to hear from you again to.
Good to see you folks. Shrunk don to phone size that opening scene looked a little like an episode of Time Team. You could dig your way out.
Anyway, enjoy spring and be safe y'all.
Hi Keith. Good to hear from you
Welcome back Foxwells. I am looking forward to the sailing season as virtual crew.
Hi Neale Thats fine, happy to have you along with us
Great to see you all back. Conyer is lovely.
Hi David. Yup we like the place, have you made your way down to it yet
I kept my old Silhouette there for a couple of months a few years ago. Will try to get back round there later this year. Based in Chichester Harbour atm.
ahh thats right, sorry I had it my head you were Ipswich way. Still when the SW start blowing again it will be a nice sail back this way
Nice to see you all back sailing Ian, Hannah, lost for words????? haha. Hope to see a few more vidoes over the coming weeks. Cheers.
Hi Brian. Yup may not be every week but we will try and do more this summer
Great seeing the crew again! good job with 360 cam....some people go crazy with it...
Hi Las. Yes we still have a lot to learn but it will help us capture the things that we would otherwise miss.
Enjoyed the vid! Nice to see you on the water! Loved it!
Hi Stefan. Thanks, good to know that you enjoyed it
Good to see you back, your Easter weather was better than ours, it's normally cold in the morning, but warms up during the day, it was freezing here all weekend. Happy sailing.
Hi Chuck. Yup its been unseasonably warm to be honest, sounds like yours is unseasonable cold!
glad to see you back great video again
Thanks John, nice to know that we are missed
That's put me in the mood for this season's sailing, if not for motoring...
Hi Tony. Yup it was frustrating from a sailing perspective but we would have missed out on a great weekend away if we hadnt started the engine. And its relaxing in its own way when the water is so still and flat
@@SailingwiththeFoxwellFamily With a reliable and reasonably quiet motor, maybe :-)
Spookily I was just thinking last night that I hadn't heard from you guys in ages..... and here you are, you're back 👍
Hi Simon. Good to hear from you
Grew up there. Teynahm is pronounced "Ten Ham" originally ten hamlets. The long straight walk from Conyer is called the tramway, related to the brickfields in Conyer,
Hi Barry. Interesting, thanks for the input
Great to see you again, have a great sailing season.
Hi Peter. Thanks, nice to hear from you
So good to see you guys back on the water, makıng vıdeos. I thıng we have a mutual acquaintance? Do you know John Lınton. He's a racer ın your area maybe a bıt south of you ın the Blackwater, Canvey area? Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
Not sure blackwater is south of the Medway or near canvey.
Hi Guys. Yes we are based in the Medway so south of all the places listed and no, I'm afraid we dont know John, by name any way. We might of course know the boat :-)
I like going into Conyer, but that speed entry gave me the heebiejies!
:-) I know what you mean you dont want to go in to quickly
Good to see you guys back out on the water and I see you've got your comments back 👍
Hi guys. Thanks, nice to hear from you
Great to see you back Ian and family! Been awhile and quite a bit of changes. Good to see you all out in the boat back having adventures.
Hi Grant. Thanks, nice to hear from you
@@SailingwiththeFoxwellFamily 59er looks like a cool ride. Hope to see some videos of you two sailing/racing it.
Yup hopefully soon
Great to see you folks back out. I made a mad dash down from Foxes to Bradwell just before easter when the weather was nice, so that was cool. But I'm now laid up because I give up in the vintage ST60 kit on this boat and I'm replacing everything with B&G kit, whilst feeling like I should be taking out a second mortgage 😑
I've never had a physical "wow, eugh" moment until you cracked out the drone footage of the creek, amazing stuff! Hopefully at some point I'll spot you up on the rivers up here in the Orwell, Woodbridge areas!
Hi Tom. Good to hear from you again. I'm a big fan of B&G stuff after the gear we had on Sea Horse but as you say it does require a sharp intake of breath. I might be able to help you out though.... if your ST60 wind head unit and transducer are still working as Id buy them off you :-)
Mudlarking central!! Excellent stuff. So not like my early experiences off the West Coast of Scotland. If you hit anything on the bottom it would be baaaaddd.
Hi Ruaraidh. Good to hear from you again and yes, the mud can be very frustrating at times but it does have its benefits.
welcome back 😂👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈☕☕
Hi Alan. Thanks, good to hear from you again
@@SailingwiththeFoxwellFamily you are welcome and its good to you back making video's agene
Welcome BACK!
Sailors COFFEE: If you think this coffee tastes like MUD...you'd be right....it was AGROUND this morning.
For the LOVE of GOD...go find some DEEP WATER and go SAILING.
Stop this mud larking around.
Hi Romeo :-) We dont do deep water on the East coast. If the depth meter reads anything in double digits we get scared
This was a great weekend. It started with a packed clubhouse and a fish n chip supper on Good Friday. T'was indeed freezing with a fairly thick mist at 6:00am when we departed. Having seen the aerial shots of Conyer creek it is hard to believe that we all got through in one piece (+ 10 boats in all). Most of those "skid marks" especially at the entrance to the creek were left by me on my first attempt approaching from the South side of Foley Island. 1.2m of water became 0 in the blink of an eye. I can assure viewers there were plenty of groundings basically because we were at least one hour and a half early. HT wasn't until 13:30 but we are assured by the class captain (nameless to protect the guilty) that we had to be at Conyer for HT at 12:00. I suspect he did not check his tide tables, I did, but deferred to the more experienced amongst us, Doh!. Homeward bound a number of us took the Butterfly Channel the same as Ian, this was a wise decision. Fortunately I and others escaped the game of Rounders" that Hanna had cooked up and recruited for on Friday night. (may be next time)
Hi Rob. Yup the same class captain was good enough to park his boat at the entrance when we, and several others went in though, clearly identifying the mud for us :-)
Well done Foxwells,, Can I help you out with Teynham, pronounced,,,,. in Kentish "Ten,um" Keep um comming😉
Thanks John, good to hear from you
Time to RENAME that place: Conyer MUDrina.
Not a bad idea.... there is a lot of mud!
