Gurez valley lies along the LOC in northern part of Kashmir, situated at about 8000 feet. It is very safe and peaceful place.
If you are on the hunt for an awesome offbeat location for your next vacation then look no further.
Gurez Valley is about 125 km away from Srinagar. Gurez valley is extremely picturesque, as the Kishanganga river comes dashing along through a rich meadow, partly covered with lindens, and walnut trees, while the mountains on either side present nothing but a succession of most abrupt precipices, and wooden lodges, covered with fir trees.
We visited Gurez valley in the month of September which is almost the end of season time. Road from Srinagar to Gurez is good till Razdan pass, after that, road was under construction.
Gurez valley is cut off from the rest of the Kashmir during winter time i.e. November to March.
This Video was shot in the second week of September,2023.
Log Hut Cafe is a perfect place for bikers, hikers, and locals to stop for a cup of coffee. This cafe is in Dawar, Gurez Valley. Log Hut Cafe is exclusively run by the Indian army.
Dawar is the largest town of Gurez Valley.
Khandyal Top is a beautiful spot in Gurez Valley., to get an over arching view of the entire valley.
KishanGanga River - It is a major tributary of the west-flowing Jhelum River. It is also known as Neelum River. Kishanganga River originates from Vishansar Lake, which lies on the mountains above Sonamarg.
Tulail gives you the feel of old Kashmir where one can spot old structured houses of Kashmir. Drive from Gurez to Tulail is breathtaking.
Habba Khatoon Peak is the dominant peak in Gurez Valley. Habba Khatoon, named Zoon (meaning moon) by her parents, was a Kashmiri poetess in the 16th century. There is the Habba Khatoon spring near the peak.

It must have been so beautiful then, though.
Development needs to be planned and not at the cost of trees . There was lot of dust all around and hardly any tree cover in the valley.
      Thanks for watching the video.

Polo is doing great despite its low ground clearance . No complaints 👌 Very happy with it 😀
