does the 98 cl600 have a throttle linkage and kickdown cable,as the pedel in mine seems to have a very long travel compared to my 2002 clk430 which is much more responsive to the smallest movements,i can see the wire under my hood for the throttle but i don't know if it can be adjusted or if it is better left alone

Does your cl600 fly by wire throttle body? If yes the only thing you can do is reset the gas pedal.. if it's mechanical throttle body you can try adjust the gas pedal above the gas pedal & u need to remove the panel to go through to the adjustment for the gas pedal..

@@MGT600 i think its fly by wire, i have re set the gas pedal, i think w140 pedal is just a bit more old fashioned feeling than 2002 cars

@@raycroal yours 5 speed 722.6 ,right? Yeah maybe w140 gas pedal feels like that.. even so if it is a fly by wire, yours is a 600 v12 sure it is fun to drive than my 95 s320l😅

@@MGT600 not as good as you think we have 70mph speed limit so you cant use the power for very long,it might be that the 320 is more fun as you can make the engine rev more

@@raycroal I see.. here the only reason why everyone choose the 280 & 320 are because of the high roadtax. V8 & V12 roadtax are tremendously high around $2k~3k just for a roadtax.. so the market value for small cc engine are much higher Vs the big ones. The s280 are much better than the 320 if you're thinking of resale value.

Going to try this on my 95 e300D linkage, when pushed in it stays stuck and the car revs really high
