Hi mate, whack some teflon tape on the thread of the shifter which will cause the shift knob to tighten earlier. That means you will be able to have the writing facing the right way 👍

Haha I had the same reaction when I first installed mine! BTW when I did mine, the big rubber boot held down by the metal bracket, I split the top from the bottom and cut a big square hole in the bottom rubber piece, and put it all back in. It drastically reduces the noise and air rushing up through around the shifter 😊

hey man grab yourself some teflon and wrap in on before the gear knob. should be able to get it on tight enough not too move but loose enough to get it off unlike locktite

You can put Teflon on the thread before you put the cube shifter knob on it, it will add heaps of tension

great video, just a tip i find it heaps easier to put the shifter in the freezer for a bit and the bushing in hot water, slides on easy as and no risk of fucking it up by hammering it

That's way more solid man! Is that a 40℅ gear reduction kit? Looking at getting one for my 33 but read that much reduction isn't good for the gearbox synchros
Running a nismo short solid shifter with 10% gear reduction atm
as cool as nismo is i always found it not worth to pay big bucks for that 10% reduction not worth it. these blokes at cube speed currently running the best short shifters high quality design. took my car for a drive this morning purely for the fact how nice the gear change feels
@@ClutchKickJunkiesyeh the nismo one isn't too bad I'm just worried with the cube as it is 40% reduction the synchros won't keep up and shit them selves over time. Really leaning toward getting one but that's my only issue
@@joshuamcfarlane7957 biggest issue is 3rd gear (changing in to 3rd to fast). If you want it to last keep the factory set up.
@@johanwillemen7709 yeh quick shifters are defs not good for the synchros. I'll be gettimg a gktech spring kit and a solid bushing for my stock shifter. That setup is the way to go and feels mint

I replaced my tomei short shifter to a stock shifter, because there is no gear grind and felt alot smoother with stock.
either nismo or cube speed you should trust. get your self a cube speed and notice the difference from quality to comfort

Hi, Our short shifter removes all of the vertical play that the stock shifter has, so the wave washer is no longer needed :-)

can confirm the throw is way way way way shorter plus side springs are not in either which means it be tighter when installed
