I did volunteer work at an woman’s abuse shelter, and it was widely known that men also are abused but do not stand up to their abusers due to upbringing or disability. It is very important that Depp has brought this forward. Abuse DOES NOT only come from men.

It's unlikely he would have brought this forward in the first place. He probably would've been fine divorcing her, and even giving her a big settlement. It wasn't until she started making false accusation against him he was forced to defend himself since it was costing him his career. All because her looks are fading and she's a horrible actress so she was trying to hop on the metoo movement to stay relevant. Metoo will later be used by men who had false allegation made against them.
Ive just left an abusive relationship and even then it didnt stop to the point my ex wife stormed into my new flat started beating on me and smashing my stuff up BECAUSE I had left her.... Little did she know I had cctv installed inside and outside my new place.
So now I have the evidence where as before it was my word against hers and (edit... People not police, this is the first time I made an official complaint, thanks to Johnny giving me the courage to stand up) never took my word seriously yet people always believed her. It is rather sad how society automatically believes the woman over the man, as if men cant be victims as well 😓
I have been staying at an abuse shelter. The law in my country prevents men and women to stay in the same house in shelters like this, so they have their own house and we had ours. Even though the people working at the shelter doesn't necesseraly want it that way. I think that is so weird. I think we would all benefit from sharing our experiences in this environement. I imagine abused men must feel very isolated and alone. There are fewer of them, so they risk sitting in a house alone, while we always have someone to talk to and share the suffering with.
And the sad part is there is no support system for the men that go though this, while women have shelters phone numbers and can say anything about those men without anyone questioning them. If we dare complain we have to "man up" or " be a man" or " we probably deserved it". I Hope I never have to go though this but if i do i hope this case will start the trend of the women is not always the victim in the eyes of the public.

I'm actually glad this court case happened. We needed the reminder that it should be "innocent until proven guilty" and that women can lie as well as abuse. Hopefully more men will come out after this. DV and SV should always be treated seriously by the court and investigated by the police. The public needs to stay out of it until we have the facts.

I keep coming back to this, even now that the case is over.
And to the talking heads that want to make this about "setting women back," no. Amber lied and the world saw it. If the genders were reversed, you wouldn't see people so mad. Men CAN be abused, but the world tells them to shut up or they're "less than." So happy this turned out the way it did. Lots of love to anyone suffering or who have suffered violence in their relationships.
Plus what I love is that Johnny said that he hopes his story will help both men and women. He saw that it can happen to anyone and not just a set gender, I too am so happy about the verdict being what it was. When it sunk in that Johnny won I started crying because justice was served in the right way.

Normally I'd agree, but I've been following this one and it's eye opening. If you read many news articles, it's like they aren't even watching the same trial. There's a huge disconnect between the "believe all women" crowd and what's actually going on, and it has implications that go far beyond a celebrity spat. Depp likely knew this would happen, as he was the one that insisted on this being a televised trial. If not for that, we'd all just be fed the typical line about how the mass media want us to believe everything Heard said is true, John lying out his rear, and continue the beat down of men in general.
Now that the trial is televised, they lost that control and we can see for ourselves the truth of the matter and are all better off for it. Their celebrity status gave it that national attention, but the real issue is that of a woman making bogus allegations to claim abuse is now being held to task. It's showing that no, we should not automatically believe all women, full stop. It's showing that we should not jump to conclusions, as the media wants to do to continue various forms of class warfare.
I recommend you watch some of the LawTube coverage of this from lawyers watching the livestream and a few that have sat in the gallery. Uncivil Law had several videos criticising the media disconnect I mentioned. Runkle of the Bailey and Law and Lumber have been sitting in and they are letting us know how the jury seems to be reacting to everything on top of their own opinions of the case. Rieketa Law is doing gavel to gavel coverage with those aforementioned lawyers, plus several others that join in at times, though his analysis can get rather spicy at times.There's other lawyers covering it as well, though I haven't watched their's personally. It may seem like a media circus (and much of it is), but you'll learn a lot about our legal system from this case and others covered by the various Lawtubers on here.
