Dangerous heat wave and wildfires in the West

- A large wildfire burned out of control in northern California, consuming 3,500 acres and threatening thousands of homes and other structures. Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated. The West is also dealing with stifling temperatures, with 120 million people under heat alerts. NBC News' Liz Kreutz reports.

I’m in the Sierras, at 2000’ and we are getting 107° temperatures for a week straight. Way above the average for this time of year.

I commiserate with you. At 81 living my whole life here I can remember that the heat of the year (Think triple digits when we used to think 104or 107 on occasion was hot). Well we have been warned for years about climate change but many politicians poo pooed it.Wait until their highs of 97 or more with HIGH humidity hits them. Oh wait, they spend their time in air conditioned offices.

114 more like it in Mesa, I'm about 30 miles away from Phoenix.. and I live outside in it overnight low of 89... but I'll take this over freezing to death.. your body gets used to it .. right now I'm sitting in the park plugged in and using public Wi-Fi 114... only issue I have to spray the back of my phone and my iPad while it charges otherwise it will stop charging it's that warm but at least for the phone anyway.. but yeah 2020 was far worse. It's actually pretty bearable right now. We've already got two rain storms and more to come.. 2020 was definitely the worst year living out in it..

@@Pinkielover The human body adjusts to cold far easier than heat. Cold is also easier to manage. Its far easier to warm up when cold then cool off once hot.
113 is exceptionally hot for Phoenix, especially with multiple days at those temperatures.

Yes I'm a Californian and I'm definitely not a Maga. I live in a valley. Where our predicted hi for today was 108, it only reached 105. The rest of this week the next 9 days are predicted to be between 112 through 114. It's HOT! fires can start easily. They don't know MAGAS from the rest of us. What kind of a person to make light of the fires by blaming it on Newsome?..Maybe there's a problem because he followed former president's advice. Hire people to go into our Forrest with broom and sweep away the leaves. While they are at it might I suggest that where we have wind turbines and sweep away the dead birds and move the dead cancerous cattle. (I travel the highway between Stockton and San Jose several times a year. As e approach the windmills I always ask people around me if they see the dead birds and dead cattle n the ground. Then I explain to the quizzical faces , Well president Trump warned us about the dangers of the windmills. Right now we're getting ready for the 4th of July and I love the fireworks but we're going to experience a rash of small fires because some people's carelessness. What kind of a person would be alright making snide remarks about the cause of fires when so far there has been the death of a young child due to smoke inhalation?

Forestry mismanagement is their 'narrative'. Not the REAL issue. The real issue is ....spraying with toxic metals, taken up into the trees by the roots. AND, DEW weapons starting fires.....And, Haarp projects adding so much energy into our atmosphere...causing temperatures to rise, hurricanes to intensify, and...etc.
We are so grateful to be able to host our international newcomers as friends forever.
Satellites detected heat anomalies appear nearly simultaneously across Canada last year was an interesting phenomenon.
