Love this song, RIP Honey Lantree
Come on, people. These are lovely people doing their best at what they love most and doing it very well.
I salute them, respect........
In reality there comes a time for every cowboy to hang up his spurs. That is not disrespect, that is fact.
@@robertbrown8576 It was a reunion for 50th anniversary. Props to them
@@BennieWilll Thanks. Didn't know that.
@@robertbrown8576 Commemorating Radio Caroline, so bunch of groups got together. This is also not the original lead singer of the Honeycombs. Denis D'Ell passed away in 2005.
@@robertbrown8576 in that case, the spurs are back! r-rock on.. 😆
It’s amazing to see troopers like these still entertaining. Being 72yrs old I can appreciate the work involved. Top marks for keeping their feet on the ground. I bet their grandkids love to see them perform. 💐👍
👌👌
Martin Murray playing the Burns guitar is the founder of the Honeycombs. It's great that he wants to keep the songs going today and to not be forgotten. His newest album '304 Holloway Road Revisited' is a stunning compilation of Honeycombs songs with a new updated sound however keeping a '60's tone to it. I highly recommend this album. Don't expect a "greatest hits" from this. It's a new sound to some great Honeycombs songs. Martin Murray is really the heart of the band. Always has been, always will be. He chose some really good people to join up with him. If not for Martin Murray, there would be no Honeycombs.
missnunziata Well said. Thanks for the great comments!
Honey caught the eye back in the 60s, rear to see a female drummer back then. RIP
Sadly, original Honeycomb singer Denis died in 2005 at age 61. Remember him well back in the 1960s. He was one handsome guy!
God bless them all. I love them. 😊
Was his brother in the band too ? Is he featured here ? Very sad news .
Honey Lantree’s (drummer) brother John Lantree was in the band.
Sadly, Honey Lantree died in December 2018.
I had a crush on Dennis (I was10😂)
Wonderful.
They were a class act.
I was a child in the 60s and remember the best era ever!
It makes you realize how far away 1965 was.
55 years!
Ancient history.
So sad Denis couldn't be with them. His vocals were so unique. RIP.
He was a lovely guy. After the Honeycombs he became one of the singers in the Johnny Howard big band in the Mecca dance halls. I was in the resident "group" at the long-gone Tottenham Royal so knew him well. I met his brother (a bass player) a few years ago . It all seems an age ago now
It’s such a treat seeing how these songs are played live. It’s harder to play clean and clear.
Rest in Peace you beautiful talented lady.
Anne Margot Coxall, aka Honey Lantree, drummer and singer, born 28 August 1943, died 23 December 2018. R.I.P., Honey, you were the best!
Honey made this band ❗️💜🥁
Dont like this line up sound terrible Martin hasn't Changed at all
At the very end I bet the spirit of Honey Langtree had a helping hand.
I think you're right there!
Drummer inspired me incredibly. Nothing's ended, all things just have started.
Haven't heard a drum solo like that in years......fantastic ending!!!!
Thanks! Yes it was amazing to watch.
Great band and a great song!! Thanks Honeycombs!!
I was 12 when this hit the charts in the UK. Very dynamic upbeat sound of the new wave rock and pop that was already coming our way from the repressive 1950'smoving into1963 onward.
Of course they're old! But they'r still terrific! An old favourite of mine
Yes, remember Crissy Lee Band way back at a Pontins camp where i was Lounge Pianist :) The Honeycombs - Have I The Right . . . one of the really really great numbers of the 1960s. Listened to Caroline as a kid on holiday in Scarborough.
Thanks for the comments - great memories.
Much love for the Honeycombs, thank you!!!!
Thanks Kim!
That was good. Well done the lady on the drums....superb. The lady vocalist was good too.
Thanks Andy it was a fun gig.
Legends all of them,. Have I the Right, was on the duke box in our family dairy when I was 8yrs old and up against some tough competition in 1964, was still my favourite. Covered it one night only in Pauanui, New Zealand in 2021, was an honour and a thrill.
some time you need one or two hits to be remembered for generation. young and old all together . thank for the thrilling memories.
That drummer kicks ass. Still quite talented.
"caroline!, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, caroline! ", my mam used to listen to this pirate station on her old, G.E.C radio. that was way back in the 60's, & i was only a little girl, but i still remember that catchy jingle!
Radio Caroline - Great era - something good on the pirate radios 24/7 after old steam radio bbc it was amazing! My uncle Ken Gatward used to do what he called 'anchor watch' in his sloop for a pirate ship but I think he really ferried supplies!
Nice to see they were still having fun doing what they love together.
Absolute legends 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the memories
Absolutely class act they have still got it
Awesome post. Honey and group sound wonderful.
Jim Adams thanks Jim although it's not Honey Lantree on drums :-). It's talented drummer Crissy Lee.
glad this exists !!!!!!!!!!!!
responding as i'm watching this,it gets better and better.
Honeycombs outstanding video. Great seeing the Honeycombs live show. Quite by accident finding friends of the British Invasion, what a treasure.
Thanks Robert, pleased you enjoyed the video.
I'm not sure what video you're watching but this is diabolical $
+Neil Palmer Happy to have engaged you in the debate Neil :-)
Oh yes, we´re all getting older. Just having fun with the music of our youth. I´m not to blame the quality of the songs with the original versions some 40 or fifty years ago.
I really enjoyed viewing this.Best wishes to all and please rock on!
Thanks John - with the Radio Caroline 50th anniversary as well, this was a memorable day.
Fantastic Afternoon.............Stand Up And Be Counted. XXX
G'Day,I remember them so well, still love them now in my 70s🤗
If Honey Lantree wasn't there it wasn't the Honeycombs.
Fab drumming at the end!!
Old but not forgotten!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh just Bisto Brilliant and Everlasting.
R.I.P. Honey a v. good drummer you are going to be missed a lot.
Martin, great to see you are still going. It's been a long road since your days up by Dalston Junction. I forget the name of the pub, but we all had some good nights there. I hope you are still playing in 2020 or maybe 2021, I plan on visiting London and if you are playing anywhere close I will be there.
Martin loved music so much his entire life. He was made for those 60s songs. I reckon the Good Lord will hand him a guitar the moment he enters the pearly gates.
Mildmay Tavern
Oh dear sometimes it is better just to play a record. I was so in love with Honey Lantree and this was the first 45 I ever bought age 11 years old
+martin lowe
Is that her on the drums in this, too? I
+Julie Anne yes it as and you are correct
+martin lowe It isn't Honey playing the drums. She would never be associated with knockabout rubbish like this.
GREAT song and Fantastic Drum Solo From Honey Deep Respect
Thanks for watching Harry. Yes, a few others have commented that is is Honey Lantree but it is in fact Crissy Lee. According to her website she is "widely acclaimed as being the UK’s and Europe’s finest female drummer". http;//www.crissylee.co.uk
I remember Christine Lee, I think she started in the Ivy Benson all-girl band and in the late 60's she was the drummer in the Johnny Howard big band. And very good she was too.
Love that song. How nice to know they're still around.
I loved this and have no idea why.
Radio Caroline....that sure brings back memories.
Thanks Steve. Did you see my other video shot on the same day? > czcams.com/video/DPpLAbK6X2Q/video.html
Cheers for that...Brilliant.
Love these and the searches who are also currently giging
Love the fact one of the guitarists stuck with a Burns guitar. In the old 60s video they all had Burns guitars.
Thanks for the comment and hope you enjoyed the video!
They originally used the "Black Bison" model. I had one in the 60's, probably the heaviest guitar I ever owned.
You picked up on that to, Awesome you are quite right!
@@Tzarchasm09 I still have my 1963 Bison - and a Marvin, Vista Sonic bass, custom 1960 Sonic with 3 pickups in series, along with one of the newer Marquees (ser no. 001) in my collection. The Bison is best and that includes Strats, Teles and Les Pauls.
Maximum respect to Honey Lantree! Watch the drum solo in the last 2 mins of that video was absolutely fantastic! Not your ordinary drummer, You can see why she was the reason Meek and Howard and Blaikley picked them out of the rest. Wonderful thank you
That's not Honey!
nice tribute to a one hit wonder band, things got rough after their first hit but the Honeycombs made an impression in my head forever!
If this is the same drummer from 1964 then I say 50 years of practice has paid off. And all this time I thought it was The Zombies with a girl drummer. There instruments looked priceless. Super Cool, Thanks from Mexicali.
OOOOHHH!! WOW!! INDEED!!MANY THANKS!!I WAS 14 YRS. " THEN" - 1964!!!!!!FROM( U.K.)
The blonde girl has a sweet voice. Nice to see talented musicians playing live.
I hope I'm still rocking when I'm 80, and I don't mean rocking in a chair!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great bit of drumming from the Old girl
I am 70 and have I right is the only song I remember of theirs and the only members I remember is the lady drummer and the guitar player with the glasses
No,no,no! I'll never get this sad version out of my head now.
Loved it then and loved it now 🤗
And relearnt to walk and talk so I should know 😋
RIP Honey.
What sad news KR. This is the only mention of it I can find > bestclassicbands.com/honey-lantree-obituary-12-25-18/
Sounds........Fab. Thanks For Uploading * * * * *
Absolutely still going strong.love u 👦
Awesome
So good to see Martin Murray.
Yes I remember when he lived in Henry’s Avenue Woodford Green with all his family.
Still playing the Burns London Guitar just like in 64!
Martin Murray. Still the same glasses too. 👍
Ugly horrible guitars
That's the original dude on the Burns scroll headstock guitar. Same glasses too.
Indeed it is! Martin Murray.
Rest in Peace
nothing sadder than the remnants of a great 60s group trying to perform with maybe one original member and others not even boen during the groups heyday. plus no one could replace honey lantree.
Well we all enjoyed it John. Looking at the guys in the group I think they were definitely born before (not during) the group's heyday!
@@expertiseontap not the women lol.
My heart is with you guys.... Arica. Chile
BENTERS, 1965 WAS YESTERDAY ASK MACCA
up to the drum solo,brilliant
Great memories of the Honeycombs I would be 5 or 6 years old when " Have I the Right" came out and I have distinct recollections of it always being blasted out at any fairground your parents took you either on the Waltzers or the Dodgems
Just enjoying great music
Really great....wooow.
Wow! the last time I saw Martin Murray was at his daughters party which was 27/28 years ago cracking fella and most definitely up for a laugh.
Fantastic Drum Solo From Honey Langtree at 7.06 mins - Deep Respect
Thanks for the comment Anthony, except it's not Honey Lantree:-) . The drummer is Crissy Lee. According to her website she is "widely acclaimed as being the UK’s and Europe’s finest female drummer". http;//www.crissylee.co.uk
Thanks very much for correction and letting me know - I wonder where Honey Lantree is then ;) but Cissy Lee is certainly a brilliant replacement.
Anthony, this is the most recent video I can find of Honey czcams.com/video/hYP3HuROBe4/video.html according to commenter KrayzeeVideos, Honey is his/her Nan and her real name is Anne Coxall. Looking at the photo on this Facebook profile and some of the memories she has posted, this seems to be her facebook.com/anne.coxall.7
she was my mom told me same
pamela harrison v
Nothing can match Dennis
Love how they did Love Me Do ❤
That blonde is a knockout!
RIP Honey+++
Like all 60's groups today they don't comprise all the original members as sadly many of our pop heroes have passed away. This doesn't change the fact bands like this made the most exciting music of all time. And the blonde vocalist is easy on the eyes! Notice they have a female drummer (not Honey Lantree) but she's bloody good!
Lee Wood Thanks for your comments Lee. Yes, the female drummer is Crissy Lee. According to her website she is "widely acclaimed as being the UK’s and Europe’s finest female drummer"
Expertise on Tap | Email & Video Marketing Original drummer Honey Lantree should be in the Rock 'N Roll Hall Of Fame because she's been an inspiration and role model to most female rock 'n rol drumemrs since 1964.
More likely than not, that includes Crissy Lee.
Is that Crissy Lee who played behind Fergal Sharkey "A good heart is hard to find'? I still have the hots for those two female dummers in that clip. And if it was Crissy, who was the dark haired one? Thanks Will
Very good vocals and ace druumer
So awsesome
we are all old now......😊😊😊😊😊
Best song ever!
I used to fill up The honeycombs van up with fuel, Honey drove it around Sudbury near Wembley, She was a delightful lady.
Great story Michael.
I watched Honey Lantree doing Apache with drum solo and that is the same woman, Ann Lantree
RIP Honey
How good would that be to see them
Age shall not weary them
There is only one original Honeycomb in that line up. I should know I am the original lead singer Dennis D'ell's son
+Spencer Dalziel thanks for your comment Spencer. I just found your Dad's obituary online - taken far too young.
Your dad was good! You should be proud to be his son!
Spencer Dalziel Don't you think he's turning in his Grave? I saw the band with him in the 90's and they were fantastic.
Wow..RESPECTS
Saw Honey Lantrees granddaughter in one of these threads too.
everyone commenting on how good Honey is here, except it not her. lol
I remember the blonde bird in the black dress back in 1964, she hadn't aged much, apart from ronnie Corbett on guitar who are the rest of them
A not too bad Pub group.
That's about it really.
Honey, you were, still are, one of a kind.
bloody sight better than a lot of Glasto acts
Haha I think you’re right there!
I remember meeting Chris at Butlins in Ayr 1972. Lovely lady.
Is the girl on vocals Heidi Richardson?
absolute class,effing brilliant,make a new song.
Gotta have the Burns guitar!
Wild Dog!
fab show, ,,, love the girl drummer top class ,,,,,
