This is the most I've ever seen Tim play his guitar!
I’m not the only one recognizing this! What’s up homie!
if you can call it that!
Wow. First time?…Tim is AllTime. SMH.
Let’s get real.. he’s the only one still standing by his roots.. fucking legend!
Wtf do you think Lars is doing?
The reason I have always loved Tim and Rancid was because all his songs have always felt like he was telling me a story. I always needed a story.
Ive seen them again last september and he confirmed that most of their songs are real life story ! So there you go bro he is telling us a story 😊
I always felt like I could relate to all there songs ❤
Thanks, Tim, for being you. It's made it a little bit easier for me to be me.
well put
Nothing says being yourself more than putting on an accent
how many of me are there?
obscenecommenter we all need a little escape these 3 minutes did it for me too 😎
Beautiful
I got into punk in the early nineties and I thought I had missed out the golden era. Now I’m “old school”. Just keep making music in your garage and punk will never die.
The life this guy has lived man. I can't even imagine.
I never thought, as a teen, I'd hear "Journey" as an unplugged version. Pretty awesome, Tim!
Us punks get older and mellow too
TIMOTHY ARMSTRONG! You get out of that tree this instant!
This made me snort-laugh.
Hahahaha
I can't stop laughing holy shit
The fuck is he doing in a tree?
For everyone hating on Tim, he’s a ska-punk guitarist/frontman. He doesnt have to be a good guitarist 90% of the time seeing as its primarily ska/reggae style upstrokes (I play drums, yet even I can do that), and he has Lars Frederiksen and Matt Freeman to back him up. He just has to have his voice and the occasional upstroke and he’s good as gold. Everything he plays guitar in is the same way, From Op. Ivy, Rancid, and the occasional feature w/ The Interrupters, he’s almost always playing some sort of ska riff. The only time he doesn’t is in his Time Timebomv stuff. Everyone hating needs to get over themselves. Even if Tim isn’t the greatest guitarist or singer, he found his niche in the punk world and is now one of the greatest, I bet the same can’t be said for anyone out her dropping hate.
Brady Robinson actually tim is good guitarist. Watch his early live. He cover most of the songs than lars who back then only knew powerchords. Oh don't forget to watch operation ivy live. He's the only guitarist in that band.
Brady Robinson exactly right people need to look at where they are in their own lives. I'd be willing to bet none of them are where he is
He's not a ska punk guitarist
@@michaelhughes8043 have you even listened to and out come the wolves it is heavily influenced by ska
1) He needs distortion to cover his mistakes. It's fine. Acoustic guitar is a lot less forgiving.
2) Definitely ska punk.
I came here for Tim in a tree. Found Billy Bragg hosting him. You punk kids need to listen Bragg's music too. Real deal. Respect for both! Punk Rock souls
Felipe Augusto bit too left for me but Billy is a punk too
but Billy Bragg is also a knob
Wasn't he the person who wrote "There Is Power In a Union"?
I had respect for Bragg until he showed support to remove Southbank (legendary skate spot) in London, because he had a personal interest in the arts centre that wanted to build commercial property there (cafes and restaurants) to fund something else. Thankfully, London collectively told them to fuck off and the spot remains.
This is probably my favorite Rancid song of all time! And I love this version!!!
#OperationIvy
This album came out when I was in the Navy, maybe 20 years old and it's songs have many, many memories for me. A soundtrack of my life kind of thing. Good times bad times. I'm instantly taken back almost 30 years every time I hear it.
Can always count on Tim to take you back to a better time and make you remember life's good. Thanks Tim!
I'm not an acoustic punk fan, but this is good right here. Well done Tim.
Hell no, no premonition could have seen this. Journey to the end.
An end that I couldn't have seen 20+ years ago. I love you Tim, keep rocking! When I was nothing, you helped me find something.
Never in a million years I thought I’d be seeing you sing songs in a tree. I love it
my favorite story telling singer!! looking forward to years more of his tales put to music!!!!
I have always adored Tim. He seems like he is a really great, real guy. I appreciate him for that (and his music)
I always come back to this video. no other words to describe the emotion this makes me feel

Every version of this song he does is great. Thank you for the good times Tim.
I dont care what anybody says hes good enough to givee me chills and some of the best punk song ever written. See ya in tha pit !
I LOVE Tim's beard... I remember when I first saw the "new Tim" on X-Files, .. It really fits him... Great songwriter, great dude. Rancid has always been a great band... It was just Tim, Matt and Brett on the first album... Yes, they got better when Lars joined, but the first Rancid LP was AMAZING!!! "Holiday Sunrise", "Detroit", "Hyena".... Great songs....
Slippy Jones Rats in the hallway is my favourite.
My 2 personal faves: Outta my Mind & Annimosity, the 1st lp is classick!!*!!
I was just watching that episode. Funny...

I saw the title and thought ok cool Tim at some venue called the tree and then to my amusement it’s literally Tim playing guitar in a tree lol. Fantastic.
made me tear up a little
The man is a fucking genius. I'm proud I've seen him live. A god
96 at the ripe old age of 17. Was able to catch the Ramones before it was over, Rancid was the icing on the cake.
What A Stallion And Straight Up Rock Star!! Much Love Brother... Live To Let Live... Faith And Hope Key To Happy Joyous And Freedom...
LoveThyNeighborProject801
basically this was the first time I heard Tim plays something on guitar.
So you never heard Operation Ivy or Rancid's first album? Because he was the only guitar player.
iesickboy I think they mean that live Tim is so busy singing and dancing around that any guitar playing is quite inaudible or minimal
Tim Armstrong has always been my spirit animal #eastbayrat
This great Tim Armstrong 🤘🤘🤘
A true musician
thank you tim
Toujours la classe notre bon vieux Tim Armstrong. Toujours un plaisir de l'entendre et de le voir. Big up à toi Maître Cordeau assis sur ton arbre

Yup, Tim Armstrong... just unreal, I just wish Ian MacKaye was still as relevant as you. Im an old man, but my 5 yr old and 3 yr old love your music as much as i do. Keep the shred shredding...
Love from Indonesia
God damn! Tim has gotten old over the years... so have I ..... 22 years of punk rock will do that to you
Tim.. thanx for all🤟♥️♥️♥️
Nice to hear it as an acoustic version. However, it shows how important Matt Freemans bass play is to the typical Rancid sound.
In my humble opinion it is the combination of Tim's voice and Matt's Bass that make Rancid sound the way they do.
Awesommmmme
Most down to earth , dude, also nice
Fender
Damn good.
Quality song! Loving a gig in a tree 😂
wow that's good
Tim is my favorite male musician alive.
Rancid is to punk rock what NWA is to rap. These guys were living legends to me when I was in my early teens. Now I’m proud to have a 13 year old daughter of my own that walks around singing Time Bomb here in 2020 instead of shit like Cardi B or Ariana Grande. Much love to Tim, Salute!
I'm glad for you Tim. I would be honored to hit it up with you anytime.
que lindoooooooo, muito foda!
Great guitar
FROM ONE TIMMY TO ANOTHER ... YOU FUCKIN' ROCK BRO‼️🎸
