I think this is the 1st time they didn't have a comeback for a long time or it's just me being spoiled Moomoo who's so used to getting MAMAMOO release music consistently heheh but anyways I miss them and hope they will comeback soon! Mamamoo is not an older group it's been only 6 years since their debut and they became very successful soloists in very short time and for your information they ate pretty much popular in south Korea right now
They are the 3rd most popular gg in Korea though ( I forgot what video that I've watched ) after Apink and Girls Generation and 2nd most requested group in all school festivals after PSY
I think they can be considered as old as they're the 3rd generation group and nowadays there's a lot of new 4th generation groups and I think what Rayonii meant by 'not as famous' maybe in terms of worldwide because yeah they are really popular in Korea

It blew my mind the other day when I found out Hyuna (active since 2007) is a year _younger_ than Solar (active since 2014).
This group is the only group that puts vocals and stage presence first, then choreography. When I watch mamamoo, I don't expect cookie cutter choreography, I expect a good and engaging performance

After thinking about it a lot, I understood that it doesn't matter if they achieve even more fame in the future, they are already living legends, this video proves it. That's why I would like the moomoos to understand that they aren't underrated and to stop comparing them with other groups, they have already proved their worth.
Yesss!! Just because they're not as popular worldwide as other girl groups doesn't mean they're less worthy. I mean why do we need western/US media or industry validation for a group to be considered as successful right? I mean even those industries are full of bullshit so why do we need their validation. MAMAMOO is one of a kind artist who is multi-talented and genuine and that's a fact!

The difference is, as far as I know, we don't have this fandom thing, telling you to stream, vote, buy etc.
Personally I buy records based on the music, not the dance (except for PSY lol} or the visuals, when I do I am not validating anything, all I saying is wow that's a good song.
It's quite obvious that the Kpop businesses do want to be successful in the West as it's a huge market which equals money, BP Coachella was a big deal in Korea and now collaboration with Ariana Grande/Selena Gomez whoever , maybe Korean fans don't like it but Korean Kpop businesses love it.
Now Mamamoo, it does matter they are underrated (but not internationally), that's mostly in their own country, nothing to do with Western validation, they are head and shoulders above all current GG and it's down to their vocals, music and powerful/fun performances {Destiny Vlive) but they don't have the home based fandom like other groups and, maybe if they promoted in the West more this would not matter, that's their companies fault.
It also matters because they have one year left on their contract and, maybe, they want to settle down and have kids, this, should have been their year but, we know what happened.
I bought all their albums based on that Vlive Destiny performance, same with SNSD because of Taeyeon's I.
The only group that may become as good, is Gidle purely because their leader is so talented with all aspects of music she, is in another league.

What I mean by western validation is like when the western media/industry took interest in them like Billboard or whatever it is but then eventually just using them for clout just like what happened with BTS like they don't really appreciate the artists and music so I don't want MAMAMOO to experience that. And what makes you think that when artists enter US market then only they can be successful and earn money? I think that's a really wrong mindset. Plus, MAMAMOO is a genuine artist who do music because they love it regardless of the result or fame.

The concept of "underrated" is rooted in the idea of groups not getting what they should be getting based on their talent in comparison to other groups who get more for being worse.
Comparisons will always exist for 2 reasons:
1. That's how the human brain works.
2. That's how the kpop industry works, rankings of brand popularity and names every months, music show wins, song rankings and sales on every fucking apps.
It's impossible to avoid comparisons no matter how much you cry about it.
And for as long as groups release garbage songs full of cringy innuendos plastered over a repetitive simplistic trap beat and plug in Selena Gomez for no valid reason other than making an easy buck, there will always be people with brains who point out the injustices of this industry and the lack of the taste in the majority of listeners.

When 2NE1 got disbanded I couldn't find any other group who have a great stage presence, til I found Mamamoo. I regret being late but so glad I knew them 😩💞
I remember talking to my ex about how Mamamoo's need to prove that they can do complex choreography is unnecessary. This video is proof that in their 7 years of existing as a group, they no longer have anything to prove to anyone. They were able to express themselves creatively, solidified their presence in the industry, and made a name for themselves without having influence from the very beginning. I am happy to be a moomoo since Piano Man era and whatever they decide come 2023, I'll be happy for them because I know, they gave us their all and we are spoiled by their lovely selves. Long live, Mamamoo. Long live, moomoos.

as a musician and a guitarist, i would love to have the chance to work with them. live performances like theirs reminded me why i desire so much to play music and pick up the guitar 15 years ago. back then it was Metallica, Guns n Roses, all manner of rock n metal music, blues, jazz, funk, etc. i stayed away from the kpop idol following and honestly i looked down on the emphasis on visual and commercialism of kpop, not on the artists themselves but the system they were in. but then i found knowing brothers and kyung hoon and buzz. and from the many artists that were guests on the show, that was where i found mamamoo. massive respect to them. was so impressed with their personalities and their music. i may not listen to all their tracks but i support them. my preference is still mostly jazz and rock music, the instrumental kinds like guthrie govan, but once in awhile, i'll put on mamamoo n be a moomoo.

Yes i agree!! They not only have killer vocals and charisma on stage but they also embodied their songs perfectly. What they want to present you can feel it, the excitement, the sadness, everything... and it doesnt feel forced. They also enjoyed performing and that translated well (i mean come on, they could hype up the audience even with minimalistic choreo or stage stunts or shenanigans 🤩
They always nailed every shows..did they ever dissappointed u?? For me..NEVER. For me they are the best performer girl group, their vocals, their dances, their attitudes, their manners are THE BEST. And honestly they the only girl group i really wish can collab with BTS in the future, none other😊

They are literally one of the most balanced if not the only team ever. Although they are not equal in all aspects, they fill all the gaps completely making it really a team. Other teams will only have that one or two people who will carry the performance. Another thing that amazes me is their stage presence as an individual especially as a group. LIKE DAMN

Onewe is the band that sometimes are in mamamoos mama performances
Oneus is the idol group brother group of onewe since oneus xion and onewe domyeong are twins
I do. And in fact I did a short video of Onewe and Wheein moments in a radio show and I do listen to some of their songs. But for Oneus Idk I'm not really interested in them but no hate tho.

Tbh I was a big YG artists' fan so I naturally became a BP fan too but after being disappointed with them again and again bcs of their lack of talent and musicality I kinda lost interest in them. And then I started to stan MAMAMOO hard (I've known them since their debut but back then was just a casual listener) and it was the best decision I've ever made and I totally forgot about BP
