    With the blend of voice and percussion, this piece feels to me like the heartbeat of the human race. The big bass drum was this heartbeat and added an "epic" quality that placed me right in the heart of what I imagined as a jungle like environment, containing both indescribable beauty and unimaginable threats. With this image of the jungle in mind, in this piece I hear the desire of humanity to marvel and engage with the beauty of their environment as well as humanity's quest toward understanding and making sense of both horrific and sweet circumstances. This piece was deeply inspiring to me. Thank you.

    This brought tears to my eyes. Zappa was right- music is the best. He'd have loved this. A million thanks.

    Everybody has their preferences! I've played on Adams, Vancore, Yamaha and MarimbaOne for a very long time. Then I bought my own MarimbaOne, because I just love the sound of their instruments, I think they sound quite woody. I'm totally in love with my instrument, no regrets! I also like Yamaha though because of its clear sound.

      Caraaaaaaaa I'm right there with you. I bought a Marimba One with Basso Bravo resonators and Enhanced Voicing. I love it so much and so does everyone else who hears it. But we all have certain sounds that we gravitate towards based on influence and preference.

    Yes, this marimba does have an AMAZING sound, but it is Korogi, not Marimba One! Check them out, great instruments!

      There are several factors in creating an amazing design. One resource I found that successfully combines these is the Delfords magic plan (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the best course i've seen. look at this extraordinary website.

      Thank you for the quick answer, What grade are the choir parts?

    • @genekoshinskimusic
      @genekoshinskimusic  Před 9 lety

      Walter Mertens The choir parts aren't too difficult - rhythm is the most difficult aspect. The bigger the choir, the better, however. I have done the piece with some very good high school choirs, but typically it is no problem for a decent university choir. The most important thing, other than pitch/rhythm is to have a full sound and the perform with intensity. This is most often the issue with choirs. That's why I say strength in numbers. Thanks Walter!

    • @wmmusicforpercussion
      @wmmusicforpercussion Před 9 lety

      Gene Koshinski Hey Gene, Is it possible to see some extracts of the score to have a better view at the difficulty of all the parts. and to show it at the conductor of the choir's. Some extracts of the hardest parts is enough. You can reach me also via my mai: walter.mertens100@gmail.com. Thanks a lot.

    Eww no to both marimba one and Adams are terrible! The best marimbist is Keiko Abe so therefor that makes Yamaha the best brand besides it's more so the player than the instrument
