Great to hear my UCLA teacher, Gary Gray on this interview. Very beloved by his students. Wonderful interview/lecture! He has been a huge influence on my music career as a teacher!

I always wondered where Gary Gray ended up. In 1967, I played Oboe with him in the St. Louis Symphony. It was a pleasure to listen to several of his interviews about his life. I wish him well. Paul Horn

Was Woodhams there yet with you? (I studied briefly with G.G. at Aspen in 1976, and with Silfies for a few years leading up to that. If you played Little Symphony concerts at Wash U - Rigo Marino?- then you probably influenced my admittedly humble development!)

Sadly, Gary passed away this week. He had early onset dementia. His words and recordings are left to us to remember him, with a nudge telling us that we'll be just fine without him. 😀🎵
