*TIP FOR THOSE STUCK ON MOVING THE BOTTOM PART UP!*
Select the face of the bottom part of the hat, than drag it upwards to where you want it to be. A menu on the bottom left will pop up. Select the "Proportional Editing." It's not the way he did it, but it was the way I found how to do it.
Edit: Scratch that, It messes with the bevel. How the hell did you move the bottom part up without the sides staying put?

2. click on the move tool and move the bottom face up
you can press z to make it only move on the z axis

Why would you skip the part of moving the bottom up?
I've encoutered an issue where the bottom moves upwards, yet the sides remain in place creating a void.

This video helped me understand some things about creating your own items, but I don't necessarily want to get robux out of them. For a start, I want to make myself a whole avatar (and maybe put it on off-sale after) and I am talking about both classic shirts and 3D items, such as accessories. I couldn't find any answers to my question, which is:
*Do you need to pay anything (from fees to premium) to actually upload different kinds of contents on the roblox marketplace? I really, really don't understand if it's free or not.*

I've got a problem... When i try to do it the original way via the button (Not in the plugins tab) to make a accesory on the bar, it keeps saying: "The creation of the following accessories was skipped because of incorrect object type. Please select imported models:" Do you have a way to fix it?
I had to go to “view” at the top, and at the left of those options I had to find the “asset manager” option and click the import button (the half square with the arrow going out) and add it in that way. But I’m now stuck at getting the colors in. I need it explained in crayon

Nice! just remember that you may be required to have Premium to be able to upload UGC in the very near future. And of course, we can't forget about the upload fee. Nowadays you gotta have money to make money. Gotta have Robux to make more Robux.

whenever I try to push the bottom face of the cylinder up to finish the base of the cylinder the sides of the top hat stay there and don't go up with the top hat.

Just so you know the texture size is no longer 256 x 256 they've changed the texture size to 1024 x 1024
And forgot to note there are no vert limits anymore only the 4k tri limit now

In my opinion it’s a good thing as long as they improve their moderation for ugc. I get how some people are not happy with Ugc becoming public but Roblox will figure something out.

So whenever I put the hat into roblox studio a dummy spawns with it and there grouped together. It is also not textured you said get the if and put it in texture. Where do I find the id?

You say “I changed the colors” before exporting to Roblox, but it shows a top hat that is smoothed and has a slight curve in it (not straight sides) how did you smooth it out?
right click on the object and click shade smooth and that should fix it
