You make my day!! Love your videos and i feel honored to have my designs featured by you!! Love
Cool design!
Thanks for giving such a thorough demonstration of the product's features! It's awesome to see the interesting models you've created. We're glad you're enjoying the M5, especially its new 500mm/s fast mode. Looking forward to seeing how the M5 helps you with future projects!
The foam assembly is actually really clever and makes sense for people who have difficulty keeping everything together during assembly.
Way to go, AnkerMake!
Glad to hear you're loving the foam assembly! Let us know if you have any questions and we appreciate your ongoing support. - Kiki Chen from the AnkerMake team
Thanks for introducing me to the guy that made his. I found his little marble runs. Which I have the 10x10 one, that is just about finished and my son is super excited!
I loved the Spool Walker design but didn't need another spool holder, so I printed it at 50% and made it into a tape dispenser.
BRILLIANT
I love my m5, it's so good.
We're glad to hear you're loving your AnkerMake M5! Let us know if you have any questions. - Kiki Chen from the AnkerMake Team
I love the Trash Walker. I'm a Steampunk Magician and made a large one in red and gold for gigs. People always love it
Really interesting seeing how much the production quality has continued improving over the years. A lot of others have just mostly stayed the same. But Joel adds little tool tips, nice b-roll, etc.
It looks like Ankermake did release their fork of Marlin 2. That’s good to see.
Ordering mine right now 🙌🏽hopefully I'll get some good video like your .
As a M5 kickstart backer this machine has been great.
Thank you for your continued support! We're glad to hear you're loving the M5. What's been your favorite print so far? - Kiki Chen from the AnkerMake Team
@@AnkerMakeBrandTeam I can't even tell you. I have printed cinder wing dragons. Donkey Kong. Some dice towers.
"My Multimeter is ringing..." Never had that happen- must have been a Fluke.
I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE
Idk how Joel keeps up his positive energy across every video. I could never.
He's like a great elementary school teacher.
i love how Joel went all Ivan Miranda on the feet of the spool walker but i wish he would have used a screw driver instead
still an awesome project.
This Video is phantastic. One of your best. Very entertaining, funny and informative. Great content. Thank you Joel!
Gran diseñador mi paisano FerJerez3d, no me sorprende verlo en este video teniendo tanto talento para diseñar. Un saludo.
The multimeter gave me Nerdforge microphone vibes 😆
hi Joel! i've seen a lot of mixed reviews and videos on the anker make, still on the fence about it but came here to see your thoughts. Also, nice shirt :)
I've had my M5 for a while since October of last year. Anker has come a long way with improving this machine and i highly recommend it honestly. They've even increased the speed from 250mm/s to 500mm/s on top of that the community is excellent they had a discord with tons of people that are super friendly and extremely helpful.
@@KevinLagan thank you for the reply!
Hi! We're happy to help answer any questions or concerns you may have about the AnkerMake M5 as well. - Kiki Chen from the AnkerMake Team
Love the content! Thanks !
Joel is slowly amassing a tiny robot army.
Lol “love you too…😮”
I wanted to print this so bad...and now you reminded me all about it!
I think I see what happened with "the thing that cuts you". Also you've got the best multi-meter ever. I wonder what it would take to get mine to take phone calls too.
Joel - just a thought about the cover/window piece - depending on the specific details/contours of the cover, you could perhaps cut out the thinner sections & replace them with a clear, thin & flexible (because of the curved shape) plastic that you could glue in place.
Alternatively, if you don't have a way to print the cover in a clear material, or it would work out ti be too costly (or too much jassle in some way), you could maybe make a 2/multi part silicone mould of the window section & then use that mould to make a new wi dow out of a 2-part epoxy resin.
Or not. It's just an idea. 🤷♂️
Thanks for the Peanuts reference!
Joel, that was one amazing video to watch
Were there any failures during the long prints? would be nice to have a little more info on its performance. thanks.
I had one failure on a leg piece when the garage was a bit too cold and I didn’t have a proper offset. That’s was it else everything printed great.
I've had mine since October last year i was one of the kick starters and this machine has been extremely reliable not to mention the massive improvements the anker team has managed to make via software. It used to only print 250mm/s now it does 500mm/s no sweat. Only print failures I've had were due to dirty beds haha
Were there any settings you changed in the slicer when you printed all the pieces? I want to know in case I need to change mine in the future. Thanks!
Nope, no changes in the slicer!
@@3DPrintingNerd dang that’s insane, thanks for the info! 😁
Just ordered my M5. Really looking forward to ditching my Crealities. V6 colour engine coming in December too.
Enjoy your videos. Will have to try that print out ; trash walker. Reminds me of Star Wars Empire Strikes Back.
YES!! That's it. I was trying to figure it out.
That is an awesome phone holder! Will it hold a 300lb gorilla? LOL! As always, a really fun video. Thank You Joel.
Parallel 3D print clothes & shoes, EV solid state batteries, etc
Hi Joel!
Is it easy to change the nozzle on the M5?
And can you use the mosaic pallette 3 with the M5?
V6 colour engine is coming in December. Looks amazing.
What are your thoughts about the v6 color engine?
Once it exists and is in my hands for some time, I’ll be able to let you know :)
Make sure you pay attention to Joel, we printed a life size Lamborghini using his techniques!!! 😁
I don't think I've ever said this, but - I found your channel when I was first trying to figure out how 3d printing worked, and initially felt that you didn't really have the kind of specific, technical information I was after - but then I noticed you say "or zed" on almost every review and was all "this guy knows most of the world doesn't say "zee"!? I must see more!" (And I'm glad I did.) But still, thank you for acknowledging the proper way to say Z. :)
Also, you totally missed a chance to quote "How am I supposed to fight with the blast shield down" when talking about the cabin "window."
Thank you for finding me!!!
Joel, do you think this Anker m5 is worth the money? I already have two printers (A Powerspec 3d pro 2 and a Prusa i3 clone) that work fine. They're old and lack a lot of the quality of life improvements of newer models like auto leveling but I'm fine with them. The speed is what is really attracting me to this ankermake though. 500mmps sounds amazing. Just not sure if it's $500 amazing.
I know you asked Joel but id like to voice my thoughts for you my Ankermake is now 1 of 3 printers I own and it has very quickly become the printer i use when i just need my part to be successful without having to "baby" it i can start a print in the morning and start work for the day keep an eye on it on the app if i need to and by lunch time ive got my part most of the time. and the best thing about the insane print speeds this printer can achieve for an i3 style device is i can rapid prototype as if the part i print in the morning is a bit off i an tweak the dimensions on my lunch break and have it printed again before dinner its really changes my work flow and allowed me to truly have fast iterative design and i love it. another thing thats been cool is the discord is full of really friendly helpful people and I've loved seeing their projects.
go look after the p1p its just bether in almost every aspect
@@thomaskletzl6493 Having had chance to experience both, the devices are very comparable in my opinion and i'm more of a fan of the way Ankermake are building and supporting their community and very actively listening to them and willing to change based on the community sentiment.
@@wiliamporter i used the ankermake only a few times in februar and the thing is i was disapointed about the quality im not sure if its only that printer or all of them. it had a few inconstistent layer heights, but i must say i compered it to my cr10 s4 upgraded with a revo hemera and all axis linear rails anti backslash nuts so im not sure how comparable it is
@@thomaskletzl6493 Yes at that point thats a fairly high end machine I guess
Reminds me of ED 209 *smirk*
it reminds me a little of a TMNT Mouser
that phone stand just needs a notch in the middle so you can have a cable connected while it's in the stand 🤔
Would like a review of the machine itself.
Sorry the deburring tool bit your thumb! Thanks for another fun video. Hight-5!
TOTALLY bit my thumb! heh. Still healing. Sore High Five! :)
How about the volume? There are customer reports stating that the device is very loud. One customer even wrote that it is unsuitable for apartments.
M5 owner here. It is quite loud but there are fan mods made by the community that help. If you print slower it's not as loud. Noise seems to be a problem with a lot of the faster printing machines. Even my modded out S1 Pro can get quite loud when using Klipper to print at faster speeds.
Here I thought my shoe was ringing ( Ger Smart).
Was that 51 hours of printing at top speed?
Sure was!
That's gotta be the smallest spool of filament I've ever seen. Was that what was supplied by AnkerMake as your "getting started" spool?
Hi! We include a roll of 150 g of Filament in every order. Please let us know if you have any questions! - Kiki Chen from the AnkerMake Team
Wonder if he likes those designs….
The thumbnail makes it look like it didn't go well. What with Joel calling for help on a multimeter...
Why does every streamer start with PLA is PETG so hard to print the challenge is avoided?
What’s wrong with PLA?
@@3DPrintingNerd LOL absolutely nothing but find myself having more fails then prints when I attempt PETG and would like to see how the experts (you) setup and print that insanely challenging filament. As always enjoy the HIGH FIVE and your videos thank you Mr. Nerd.
@@MaxGoddur Thank YOU for the high five! I'll have more PETG and ABS prints soon!
Only one nozzle a bit sad..
Not sure what you mean, but anker has several sized nozzles from 0.2mm to 0.8mm and theres some 3rd party hardened nozzles out as well including a ruby nozzle.
this is so loud. havent run mine since i got my bambu
Is there anyone on the planet that is into 3D printing that doesn't know Z and Zed are the same thing? Really?
After Anker's lies about their camera systems I have lost all trust in their software security so this printer is a no go for people who worry about 'local' camera + ai from them. They have a history of streaming video to their servers while stating it is local, even after being caught they continued to lie about how the video was secured
They make no claims about this one being local. AnkerMake seems to play it straight, they always said the cloud was involved, even during the Kickstarter.
hello
Do you even watch the video or only rush in to make a comment?
@@gugman9684 both
@@gugman9684 😆
I'd rather spend 700 on a P1P
P1P isn't a bad choice but some things you may not see are the communities behind them. The ankermake community is just excellent their discord is extremely helpful and even open to making modifications to the printer someone even went and converted it with linear rails lol. Aside from that the printer has come a long long way from where it started the 500mm/s print speed is really nice plus a bedslinger is just easier to work on compared to a corexy. Might not be for everyone but it is a really nice printer.
FIRST!!
You missed out on "FIRST!!" and got 2nd.
@@gugman9684 at the moment i entered and refreshed i was still first ;p but i´ll take second too 😜
Ankermake is bad company now. they dispose of customer in bin after they have their money.
It's 2Kg of filament, and 52 hours? That means it's £40 of filament and £3 in power! And, it's not really a proper dry box as lacks a proper seal. Think I'll stick with my food boxes from ASDA! Will definitely NOT be printing!
