I am not African American nor do I ride a longboard but I could really relate to the message of this video. I struggled with comparing myself to others & thinking that my unique interests/personality were "too strange" because other people think it is. But we can't let the haters get into our heads! Loved the video!

I don't think I've ever seen a black person skate boarding in my small town either but it's awesome you are! I think it's the small invisible boundaries coming down that make the biggest difference in realizing we are all the same inside.

Thank you for this video🙏🏾. I always get weird looks when I'm riding my skateboard. At first I thought maybe it was because there's not a lot of female British skateboards or maybe it's because I'm black. Perhaps it's because I'm less feminine then most girls. All theses thoughts made me think I was an anomaly. It's nice to feel validated and knowing it's not strange to have a skateboard.
Furthermore, I really like watching your videos I'm thinking about doing a job that involves traveling☺️🇦🇺🇧🇷🇨🇳🇩🇪 please continue what you are doing.

I saw the tittle to to this video and I couldn’t have but smile. I felt strange as a black girl trying to skate and I learned not to care now I’m teaching me cousin (another black girl)to skate it’s great. I would love a convention of all of us one day.

We’re out here girl! I purposely chose to learn how to longboard because I didn’t see any black girls around me doing it! Last year I landed a job teaching kids (who were mostly white) how to skateboard. It felt amazing to know that all these kids will remember a girl taught them to board, a black girl at that!

I lived in Florida too! and I skate and Longboards too! While I was in high school, I was the only black girl in the schools surf club and I felt so odd compared to what my black friends were interested in.
I'm glad i gave up on caring on their opinions and keep on riding. I've moved to the north but I still try to skate when I can.

:) I started on a skateboard when I was 12, and I started longboarding in high school. I definitely got the girls don't skate lecture, and grew up with a lot of comments about what black people don't do, or listen to, or like. I stopped caring. I'm going to be 23 in two days and I've gotten pretty good, and I've been getting down some longboard dancing for the past few years. Do what makes you happy. Put your headphones in and ignore anyone who tells you you shouldn't be.
I'm so grateful for this, it really makes me more confident in longboarding. I've gotten a comment like that before from a white women, but I wasn't offended but rather happy. My bestfriend and I were not longboarding, but we were pennyboarding, around my neighborhood and a women, her daughter, and her dog were walking. She smiled at me and said "This is amazing, girls skateboarding, I've never seen anything like this before, it's awesome" it made my day, especially since my bestfriend and I were black, look at us, dark skins showing lights new things in this society. We need more of that, black people can change and influence people to, you shouldn't look down on us, especially black women

Great job.black girls ,women don't have to be placed in a boxes about anything in this life. I never did and never was thanks to great parents who understood that the world is a big place and you have the right to live it,experience it,and like whatever interest you period.Gravitate towards those who genuinely appreciate you for being uniquely you.
I keep my Long board in my coupe so when I get the urge,I get on it.also ,if I ever break down somewhere,I have an extra set of wheels lol. Black girls ,black women are beautiful inside and out.People are beautiful but in this world,never allow it to tell you that you don't belong or you are not as good or better and capable of anything and capable as others.This world belongs to everyone.Go out and live it on your own terms filled with love.decency,respect for it.Happy riding:)
Just learned how to ride in December 2020. One day I told my boyfriend it was my childhood dream to learn how to ride (parents wouldn't let me because it's dangerous). He bought it for me last year and told me he would teach me. Getting married soon 😆😆😆😆.
