@@BaneTech im going to go with the otterbox defender......even though you didn't cover it. I liked the otterbox you showed. I've dropped my older phones from 10'+ before.....the rubber outer gave the protection I need.....I think the rubber on the inside and the hard outside, the plastic would break. The defender series has proven itself to me more than once.
The case with the wrist band is very useful. I.e. you're going hiking on a windy day or taking snaps on a summit. You don't want to exactly lose the phone (we've all had that feeling of holding a phone out of a balcony and the intrusive thought of dropping it!).
It's also for phone snatchers. In some countries have a big problem with people driving by on scooters and snatching people's phones out of their hands.
The lanyard thing... I always found lanyards ridiculous until I took my new(at the time) Note9 overseas. When you're about 5 stories up a bell tower sticking your hand out of a small rocky window trying to get a sweet landscape shot of this amazing place you're visiting, and the phone slips out of your hand... the overwhelming sense of relief and vindication from having chosen to forego style for function is the reason you get something like that. Then you get home and take it off because you don't want to be seen with a leash on your phone. Good reviews. Subbed.
That wriststrap case appealed to me a bit for music festivals and gigs where I might wanna get a couple quick videos but not risk dropping my phone and destroying it, but that's about the only practical use I can think of
Nice indepth review. The one thing I had hoped to see was which cases are offering a serious answer to protecting the back glass. Back glass breakage is a real problem. I see cases that cover the back that look like they might help prevent scratches, but certainly not any direct or glancing impact. Isn't there a 2-layer design of TPU and plastic that offers both scratch and breakage resistance on the back glass? Also, showing that the buttons work well is good info. What about the microphone and speaker ports, charge port or wireless charging, and NFC? Thanks for a pretty thorough review.
Lanyard if great for pictures over side of boats, tall drops, into wells and sewers.. places you dont wanna drop your phone. Can recommend, 10/10 would lanyard again
I can't get over why people would not want cases with built in screen protector. I'm so picky about the screen not getting damaged I add a stick-on protector and on also use cases with screen protectors. I guess I am just hard on phones? Idk...phones are expensive.
I have a very similar case to that cheap Cruzerlite one Pixel 3 XL. It's basically just a cheap aliexpress case that they repackaged. Very good case though and I love the faux-leather texture which makes it feel very nice for a PTU material. I would get it again for my next phone.
I think the one I will try to get is the very first one you showed us but I also like the one with the strap. I agree the wrist strap may seem different but I can tell you a situation lol. I have a neck injury and tend to drop things easily why I was interested in your video. Tyvm by the way lol. But yes the strap holds interest for me to possibly help reduce risk to my new phone 😊 But would I think to actually use it??? Lol I am weary of wallet cases though. Had an s 7 edge since released until last year. No scratches or anything. Got a wallet case and dropped it once my phones screen instantly cracked
I actually think that the wrist strap case is excellent. It is the kind of strap that I use for all my cameras, and I feel pretty safe carrying it around ñike that. Awesome.
It's really hard to beat UAG for a choice of phone case. I've been using them since I first got into smartphones and while a bit expensive, they are worth every penny; they've saved my devices on more than one occassion, and still looked real sleek. I'm gonna definitely get the UAG civilian for my S20 Ultra.
I've had LifeCase on two phones and both of them had the Same Problems. Yes, they were waterproof (in the beginning) but the side buttons wear out and don't allow you to use the buttons on the phones. Then the rubber around their outer buttons wears out and rips and allows dirt and water inside the case. They do have lifetime warranty, but you still have to pay S&H. I don't mind if I only had to pay S&H one time to replace my case, but after I did the math, I had paid more than double for the cases. You may ask why I went with another case by the same brand if I had a bad experience with the first one. Well, the first one didn't wear out for a long time, and I needed a WP case because I work in the construction industry. I was not able to find a WP case that fit my Galaxy S6 edge or even my new S8+ Edge when I first bought the phones. So I went with what was available. However, the second case gave me more problems than the first one. Heck I don't think they even make a WP case for the Note 20 Ultra yet anyway.
Nice video and helped me decide. I like the blue Ghosttek item personally cause its blue. The only blue case I could find lol. Thank you for the equipment check as well great help to those wanting to also stream.
Very good variety of cases. Could you show the side profile? The big challenge i am having is finding a case that extends past the sides of the screen.
Hi. I love the cases review. A well balanced close ups of the cases and explanation of how each case works. I think im watching more of your channel in the future soon!

I work landscaping and a dust cover is essential. However, my uniocorn beetle has one, and it soean't do shit. It's just a flap. wish more reviewers would comment on whether or not the dust cover locks. I have to use a thin lock pick to clean my USB c port about once a week.
I'll keep those points in mind next time. I used to work in lawn care and landscaping as well and understand the struggle. My recommendation would be to use OtterBox or LifeProof
S20 Ultra 5G is huge and unbalanced, top heavy. So, the first day I got mine, I dropped in on concrete, as I was photographing with one hand. Sometimes I use the other arm to hold photolights, and sometimes I must hang on to stuff, so a lanyard is not a bad idea. Lucky it came with gorilla glass screen protection.
i have the unicorn beetle, and it offers great protection, but on my S8 active, the port flap is completely useless. It seems to funnel dust and debris into the charging port.
HAHA hasn't seen you in a long time. I met in U11 Taiwan before! I just bought S20ULTRA and was looking at the green shell of UAG. It feels good. I want to ask how thick it is. Thank you.
