“Wisdom Cries” is reminiscent of the inability to think clearly when we are disoriented. Touching on ideas like insomnia and melancholy, the minor chords and minor chord progressions intend to cause stress in the listener. When listening to this song for the first time, imagine waking up after a bad dream and not sleeping well, only to awake to a fire alarm or siren.

I imagine a story when i hear this song : a car crash happened and a girls is in coma. In the song, we are with her soul. She is trying to go back to life. Around her body, rescuers try to revive her (the "lighting srtikes").

    Lyrics
    "Wisdom Cries"
We go way back in time, time
    Through diamond eyes
    We go running
    Way back in time
    Through diamond eyes
We gotta go back to the start
Back 'til we are back home
We gotta go back to the start
Back 'til we are back home
    Tick-tock, tick-tock
    Tick-tock tick
    Where is the light
Are we meant to go down again?
    We go down
    Lightening strikes
    Wisdom cries
    It's an emergency, emergency
    Conscious all night
    No one's surprised
    As long as we...emergency
    Emergency, emergency
    Wis-Wisdom cries
    Wisdom cries
    Wisdom cries
    Wisdom cries
    Wisdom cries
    Wisdom cries

What do you think is the meaning? Maybe looking in the past and being controlled by it (We go way back in time), memories running through mind all night long (Conscious all night)... It is senseless (Wisdom cries). The right answer to our inner questions is in our origin (We gotta go back to the start)? Anyway beautiful song of course. All her songs are wonder :)

And what I love about it is that when most people will admire butterflies because they're beautiful and dainty, a moth is not really regarded as anything significant. yet, that's what makes it even more special. And for her the moth signifies something worth decorating all of her art with.

I know lots of people re getting space vibes from this, but when I close my eyes I think underground. I think of massive caverns, filled with the unimaginable and unspeakable. Restless things lurk down there, more in just their mere shape than we can comprehend, primordial and more ancient than we will ever be. That chittering sound - is that them, gnawing their way through time and stone to meet us? Working like a hive, one huge mind, buried deep beneath the earth.

    • @curtisvenom32
      @curtisvenom32 Před měsícem

I think of a young person, that has aged immensely in such a short period time due to heavy trauma’s, constantly seeing things no one should ever see and or be aware of, especially as a child.
The dichotomy of a child being more aware and wise then most because of what they went through and are going through. Suffering, waiting for it to end, for someone to see them and understand them, to see what they see, to feel what they feel, to be understood and listened to.
Someone that can see everything, completely aware, they are tired, beaten down to the core, they need to rest, but can’t because of what they can see and have seen, suffering every minute of every hour, they want to die.
Someone that is on the other side of death in body and mind, but still forced to be present in the living, neither dead nor alive, always stuck in the in between.
The confusion of it all, constantly feel naked, always uncomfortable, always violated, they know every one can see it, but no one has the ability to understand it and or them, to feel it and or them.
Wisdom comes from experience, and they have experienced a lot in such little time…
Crying for someone to see what they see, to feel what they feel, crying for the loneliness to end….Wisdom cries.

The first few times this song is creepy and all mysterious but after a while this has become my jam and I am singing along and I've learn to get along really well with the creepiest yet most beautiful harmony that could ever be in the history of music (in my opinion at least). I think I see what Aurora wanted when she wrote this song: Pain, after a while become someone whome we can get along really well and be friends with, she wanted to explain that we could pretty much be friends with our demons, and she wanted to teach us that they too, like any other bad thing on earth, no matter how horrible it is, has beauty in it, I think this song can also have the same title of the album: My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend. She is simply genius. I love her.

The little jump at 2:06 and sudden shift in tone, a more "musical" song, alerting the listening, then returning to the haunting tunes that feel off tune, is like tv static clearing up and then returning. Sudden sentience. And at the end when her voice goes so high it bleeps out of existence is so weird and majestic. Hojestly, TV static describes the song very well. Like a sci fi, dystopian world, where the main character turns on the news, only to be greeted with static and occasional voices speaking to them. The TV turns off, turns back on, "Alert, Emergency" and goes back to static. A lot to talk about on this one

This song... I get chills and goosebumps every time the dissonant choir comes in.... and the way she stagers her intros into some of the harmonies just sucks me in. like i can't pay attention to anything else while listening to this song. its crazy how the seemingly random other sounds (chittering, breaths, etc) just some how just arrest your attention even more. The excellent use of headphones enhances the feeling of being surrounded and buried in this song. I love all of Aurora's stuff, but this song is something else...

      1)
All of this lies in my minds eye
all of the lies are in flight
I look at the sky but it doesn't look back
I look to the ground to which I am bound
Everything all around is churning, all from the sky to the ground
I look around to find my way, but I'm lost
      wish I could fly away.
Now I turn around and see many people, all speaking out from a script
      Why can't I find, a single mind
free from this structure of madness
Words come from my mouth from my soul
Words drop from my bones like a scroll
I look around and try to find
A single soul who sees the lies
The sky moves, and so do I
Wish I could fly away so far
      but Here I am today.
Everything I am is all locked within, can't find it outside me at all
I look all around and find what is not, everything looks just like shadows
Here I lie, I feel like a fly in a web
      Stuck in a muck
      What if I rust away?
All around, I see Atoms flying past my face
All about me people walk, people talk but no one sings
      Why can't they see?
Words fly from my lips, screaming for life to touch
Ears they do reach, which take them in but their eyes do not see.
Day after day, I'm trapped in a cage
Stuck all alone in a Web
no matter how much I try, I can't learn to fly. Chaos swirling all around, masking itself as a crown
My Eyes can't take to see, this utter blasphemy. What a Mayhem to be.
The beauty of the sky, stretches far and wide
The glory of the Lights are dancing in the sky
why do I see you when no one else can?
Is it me who is crazy or is it the land?
And one day will I find the door, out from wonderland?
One day will I find myself, back where I can dance?
Here I am today, still looking for my way
And I'm so lost wish I had a bed to stay, perhaps oneday I will find the way
wake up from this silly play
dance about and sing all day
but for now I'm here today
And could it be true that one day I will be free?
The world around, it's all so wrong
I feel it through my skin
And when will I find a pair of eyes, in which I can dive in? Is everyone around me dead? are all of you just in my head? Will I wake up, safe in my bed? right where I belong
back home, where I long for
      where I belong for
      where I belong to be
      2)
Here I lie my soul inside, trapped in a cage with eyes
Stuck in a world with such a sad story
Trapped in a place where I can't fly
Everything here to which I can't count
      Why am I here?
      Why aren't I found?
      Why can't I fly?
      Where is the Crown?
Why is my life, all the way bound
into a cage without a route?
Why can't I see, before my birth?
What was I then? What was life worth?
Why is the sky, so tightly held?
Why does my mind come to a stop, when I try to remember when this was not?
I can't explain this inside pain
      You could not understand
      because words are plain,
and they can't take and show you me; what I Am internally.
I know so far you are confused, as it always is.
I cannot show what doesn't grow, what has no start or end.
I guess all there is, is push on through
trust that life has a plan
But what if I choose a lie? What if I make a mess?
What if life, is more than I can right now clearly see?
What if I have truly fallen from my mother tree?
I'm falling down a steep steep hill, locked in gravity's grasp
I cry and scream for that warm love that is my mother's branch
But now I'm fallen from the tree, falling very fast
      The bottom getting closer quickly
There I'll die and rot so swiftly
In the blink of an eye, I'll be in a well
Unable to move, or cry out for help
Here I am, in a strange world of lies
      Do I truly belong here?
      Is this where I die?
      Everyone rushing past me, fast
like they have someplace to go
      but there's nowhere to go
And why can't I find what I'm looking for, am I truly gone?
I don't even know what it is that I want
All of my mind is stuck in a line
all stretching out from a start
But what was I then, was I simply not?
My Mind cannot fathom that far.
Here I am, inside a body
      Locked inside these Eyes
No one sees behind the lies that press so close against my thighs
I wish I could fly away.
Something is missing but I don't know what
Something is hidden my mind can't find
Here I am in a world without rhyme
Am I running out of time?
To earth I am bound, but by what I don't know
Surrounded by these big black shadows
      What brought me here?
      Can I get out?
Is there a way without a doubt?
Will I one day fly out of the trap of these bones and eyes?
Will I truly wake up and realize what a silly ply that was the lie that I would never wake?
But what if it is a mistake?
      3) As the words leave my bones, I feel out of hope
As I look and you don't understand
All my words have fallen away from the current of sound
The meaningful message was struck to the Ground.
I try to touch you with my heart, but you won't reach back out
I try to teach you with my mind, but you can't understand
Words I speak are not of Nouns, not of persons or things
And what I speak of aren't from sounds, your heart must clearly see.
Don't you see what you are?
That you are you, your name is Me
Through eyes you see and ears you hear, through skin you touch and mind you think
Your tongue can taste, and nose does breath,
But YOU are what I speak.
You are what you are, that is called You
You to yourself is called Me.
And don't you see that what I speak of is you?
That You are the thing which You can't see?
Yourself is aware of all that's without
But aren't you aware of within?
Inside the mind, behind the eyes
The one who's reading this thing
Aren't you aware? Aren't you alive?
      Isn't existence strange?
      How are you here?
What is this place, around the one who simply is?
What were you once, before you came?
      What was life then?
You are not me, for you are you.
Consciousness is such an odd thing
      For I am I, and you reply;
I am as well a Me.
Yet you're not me, but assuming we see; there is no difference at all. The simple truth is that You are, everything else isn't fact. But if I am I and so are you, Why are there two? How is there Me and You? We are not one, I am Me, yet you say that you are too breathing. As a being who be's, and only one thing, which is it all at once,
how could it be it's not only me,
but also one else in a crust?
My words fall in Vain, I try to explain
      but almost none understand.
They all try to take, what is, into make
something that is all around. The eyes cannot see behind the holes of surrounding, or into the mind.
      So if you wish again to try;
let go of your minds eye...
my words come from the soul behind the mind.
And I do not speak of anything else, I do not speak of the land.
And if you understand, than are likely Illuminate inside the hands

True. Aurora is a much more conventional, commercial version of Bjork is some ways. The Scandinavian influence is there. She is much better, more unique and artistic, than the usual low quality singers, but she is not nearly as artistic and revolutional as Bjork. Aurora is "just" very talented, Bjork is music historical genius, one of the greatest female artists in the history.
