    Dodge does things differently. If this were any other brand’s new CUV, they’d be telling us about how there’s leather on the top trim, and that lane-departure warning is standard.
    But Dodge? The pre-drive presentation was heavy in performance stats, horsepower figures, and the various muscle-ish styling features. “Excess drives success,” said Matt McAlear, Head of Dodge Sales Operations.
    Dodge has tried the “mini muscle car” formula before on basically every compact since the Neon (e.g. on its Avenger, Caliber, and Dart) with varying degrees of success. Now Dodge says it's built a CUV with Challenger Hellcat DNA. Has it succeeded?

    "Now Dodge says its built a CUV with Challenger Hellcat DNA" - I really like the exterior design and performance of this fun, new "Dodge," but isn't it being built in Italy by Alfa (alongside the Alfa Tonale)? As a buyer, I'd have more confidence in a Mazda CX-5 turbo's reliability. Thanks for the useful, enjoyable review.

    I believe this car was designed to compete with other American cars, like the chevy trax and ford escape, most Americans will buy this car over the European or foreign car in the same segment, yes it’s an Alfa Romeo, but American car companies been doing this for years, I do not understand why people are acting brand new😂

    Those seats are the same as in the Tonale, like identical, including the material. That steering wheel is the same as in my Alfa Giulia. People at Dodge had fun ripping off Alfa Romeo. I blame Stellantis, not Dodge.

    • @sammydavis991
      @sammydavis991 Před rokem +3

      Umm, it’s not ripping off when you own the company.

    • @rlsedition
      @rlsedition Před rokem

      @@sammydavis991 Umm, yes it is ripping off when you take the design, outside and inside, and change very little from the Tonale. It's also very foolish to cannibalize one brand to help another; both Dodge and Alfa need new products in the US, not just Dodge. How would you like to be an Alfa employee working on the Tonale when management decided to share everything but the hood and fascias with Dodge? And then sell both in the same (US) market, with a big price advantage for Dodge? Yes, it helps keep the assembly plant running, but at the cost of hurting the Alfa brand in the US.

    Just ordered a 2024 Dodge Hornet GT with the Track package & Blackout package .. Also in this exact color GOLD ... Im beyond certain that when the R/T's come out later this year they will have a huge markup ... 260HP is plenty and once you add on a Cold Air Intake , Open exhaust & Turbo downpipe .. You'll easily pull 300 HP with 300 LB TQ ... Im 27 years old and pay a mortgage so im not wanting to spend 40K + ... Those R/T will be running around 48-52k easily ...

      In Canada, a fully loaded RT Plus is over 60K. We got a GT Plus Black Top 8 Ball with the Tech package at just over 50K. Quite expensive but we absolutely love the vehicle! So much fun to drive!

    • @rlsedition
      @rlsedition Před rokem

      @@envioustunic6713 This may be news to you, but the "muscle car" market is relatively small. Companies need some volume sales to keep the doors open and the small CUV market segment is hot right now, which is why the Hornet exists. Even companies like Porsche recognized that sports car sales alone couldn't continue to "pay the bills", so they created SUVs to support the rest of their lineup. Wake up to reality.
