We bought a Ego Multi-Head Combo Kit last year after a disappointing purchase of a Stihl FSA 57 electric trimmer. The Ego is a BEAST with 56V, .095-inch dual-twist line, 8" metal blade. The build quality of the EGO is rugged and the power is great. All that comes with a quality price as well as being fairly heavy. EGO Customer Service is above average if needed. If anyone is thinking of buying an electric trimmer, take some time and compare so you won't get buyer's remorse (as I did buying Stihl's residential electric product).

My main question for all those Powersmart products is how long will the battery last. In my neighbourhood last year I saw a bunch of EGO lawnmowers at the curb, I guess they all bought it when it came out and 3-4 years later the batteries were dead and it was essentially the cost of a new mower to replace them, so people got rid of them. I, of course, have no idea if those neighbours took care of their batteries but I will assume they let them freeze all winter in the shed without maintenance.
This is a valid question Olivier! That’s going to depend on a lot of factors. I would imagine that if cared for you could get about 5 years out of that battery! Maybe more on its minimal use. I too see a lot of those mowers at the curb as well! I see a ton on Craigslist too with people trying to get their money back. Not gonna happen!
As minor as they are, there's always some sort of issue right out of the box with these Power Smart machines. Also the way to extend the trimmer line is annoying. No way near as efficient as bumping the spool on the ground.

Morning JB. That’s not a bad trimmer, except for the height issue. Well maybe the manual line feed too. I’ve got the Ego and Worx (20) volt trimmers. The Ego is very powerful but heavy. The Worx is light weight and really does a nice job edging and weed whacking. Another advantage of both the Powersmart and Worx is it’s easier on the shoulders if that is a problem for some people. The smaller diameter line also doesn’t get caught on chain link fence or damage vinyl siding. What’s up for this Memorial Weekend? Cheers neighbor!

I’m not a fan of all this battery stuff in general clr! Love the power of the gas equipment in my garage. But hey if you’re on a budget this could have some potential.

It's sad that this does not use the same battery than mower and snowblower like Ego, Toro and others do.
That would make the trimmer really of balance because those batteries weigh a ton! Some other brands get away with it because they make you put in a couple of smaller batteries. Thanks for watching Jamy!
JB you just make the handle adjustable height with the screw 😮. Also I think that string trimmer do the ramp up to the extent of the line i have a harbor freight that does this.

How the hell do you even get them to reply to you, I bought a mower on there website after watching one of reviews, the description said it was self propelled and it’s not , I have called Monday - fri for 2 weeks now and been hold for an hour each to only get a voicemail and sent 3 emails no reply or calls back???!
