This was a great list. I've gone a little crazy with my Spider-Man figures this year. I too think Renew Your Vows is overrated. I regret mine. My fav for this year is a tie between the AF15 figure or the Black Suit Mafex with Japanese Spidey a close runner up. I love my Hot Toys too. This was a great year for Spider-Man collecting
I don't *_regret_* the RYV - I just don't love it the way some people do. I am actually looking forward to them making more Spidey's with that frame - should be some good ones coming

Awesome list! The bombastic bagman is one of the most anticipated figure I’ve been wanting for my Spidey collection for years! The last bit of the Spidey and his amazing friends 3pack got me 😂😂😂

It’s kinda a sin that Japanese Spider-Man is there and bombastic bag man and web man but not ryv.

What a great watch! This year has been spectacular for me as far as Spidey merch goes, I got my hands on the RYV Spidey, Sensational Reilly, AF15 Spidey, and Japanese Spidey, along with a new Spidey funko pop and a Spider-Man mask I made myself for halloween! As a lifelong fan of the character, being at the age where I can finally get these figs and this merch (and make my own wearable Spider-Man mask for halloween!) has felt like nothing short of a dream come true :)
Question for you, CS - how do you feel about JMS's run on Spidey in the 2000's, with JRJR's art? It's my favorite run, to be honest.

Just started collecting Spider-Man and I love the figures I’ve got so far and hope we get more marvel legends based on the ultimate Spider-Man comics especially since we got the ultimate captain America recently

Interesting how it seems people either love or hate that figure - I love it!
My favorite spider-man action figure of 2022 has to be the mafex sensational spider-man figure, i absolutely adored the 2019 classic todd McFarlane spider-man figure but i think this figure is even better thanks to the amazingly vibrant red and blue that's on the suit. On another note I wish they made a figure for Nicholas hammond's version of spidey, the Japanese spider-man suit is identical, just swap the head and you'll end up with the '77 suit.

Thanks, brother! The improvements MAFEX made with the Sensational suit have me very excited for their re-do of the classic costume! I’ll have to see if someone out there has 3D printed a Hammond head for the Japanese body…

4:07 they used the sunfire mold for web-man, a good mold, but not a spidy-specific one
My main Spider-Man and always will be is the super pose-able skinny Spiderman with the light up eyes form the classics line on 2002.
That one was number 1 on my top 10 spideys of all time
This list is a little premature since the MAFEX 185 classic Spidey comes out this week

That is actually a really good point. Perhaps this is the cloth black suit the Black Cat made for him after he got rid of the symbiote...
My top 3 favorite Spider-Man figures of this year are the Mafex 185 Spider (classic costume) they just released, the Symbiote Spider-Man they released and then the Animated 90s series Spider-Man cel shaded figure just because I love that show and that’s my favorite Spider-Man

I'm shocked that web man and black suit both made the list but they weren't the mafex versions. Also no mention of classic suit mafex. (Lots of spidermans this year.)
I don't have any of those versions yet - that is why they are not on the list

I desperately need you guy’s help, when I was kid I had this Spider-Man helmet with a display inside, there was buttons on the side to play the game, I remember the enemy all the way at the top was the green goblin(which I never got to) I never saw another one not even online. Has anyone else seen one of these

I haven’t gotten it yet, but I think the Amazing Friends spidey will be the best marvel legend of all time. It’s not too muscular, like the renew your vows, not too skinny, like the pizza spidey. It’s just right.
Just started playing with it - can't wait to get it in the photo booth and do some Ditko poses!
To be honest, it bummed me out from the top that you left RYV off the list. However, at least I agree with most of your other picks (I will say that AF is nice, but outside of the MCU I've never been into the red-on-black design, and I like my Spidey a bit beefier than that tiny frame).
So that is just a style thing. I have a theory that all of our favorite versions of Spider-Man were the ones we were first introduced to. For me, it was Ron Frenz and Ditko from the Marvel Tales reprints, so that is the way I think Spidey should look. That is one of the things that makes this hobby so great and how lucky are we to be able to collect all these different versions of our favorite character!?!

So, I keep telling everyone that the MAFEX black spidey wasn't on the list because I don't have it yet. Then, I started getting worried - I checked my preorders and it said it shipped and arrived at the end of October! Now I'm really freaking out because I don't know where it is - You know you have too many toys when you don't know if you got this beauty. So, good news is I found it and now I plan on doing a Black suit Spidey Retrospective in the future!

You are right 99.99% of the time. And you are probably right again, but I didn't get mine until 2022, so that is why it is on the list. Also why the MAFEX black and new cel shaded animated are not on the list - I don't have those yet
