When Melody of Memory was announced, I wondered if the rest of the Kingdom Hearts series would ever come to the Switch. A year & a quarter later, and Melody of Memory is still the only KH game on the Switch
You can blame Nomura for that. He despises Nintendo. He thinly masks it in his interviews regarding the Switch. When KH3 was about to release, he told Switch fans to "stay tuned for a surprise announcement", which ended up being Melody of Memory. Once that released, he then said, "We will have no more Kingdom Hearts games on Nintendo after this". He found out Square Enix and Nintendo were porting the whole thing on Switch (3 was gonna be cloud based either way) and shut it down under the excuse that it's too complicated in specs, when in reality, he doesn't want Nintendo fans touching his creation. He probably intended the handhelds to be "non-canon" spinoffs, which didn't work. So now we get this, and part of it being like this is due to Nintendo scaring everyone away during the Ganecube era (more powerful than PS2, yet mini sized, no online, and controller didn't have all the buttons). Had they not done that, the Switch would have been more powerful than the base PS4 at launch, and the OLED model would have had DLSS support or specs more powerful than a Series S
When Melody of Memory was announced and I saw they were reusing PS2 assets on current Gen consoles, at full price, I was sure they would pull awful shit like this, to this scale 😝

I mean, Kingdom Hearts III doesn’t have me insert two PS4 discs into the system to fully install the game like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Kingdom Hearts deserves to have a native port and before you tell me the Switch can't run it:Doom and The Witcher 3 run well! Square Enix needs to quit being lazy and give us a proper port.
Doom was hyperoptimized by Panic Button because the engine could never work on Switch, Wild Hunt was good, but there was no achievement system in place, and the gameplay is kind of clunky. Still better than Ark Survival Evolved though. I'm betting this is Nomura acting petty and blocking SE from porting them regularly because he can't get over the N64 and its puny cartridges that FF7 was going to use. Still, GOTG got a better cloud version than this
Switch runs bayonetta 1 and 2, mario odyssey, xenoblade 1 and 2, and breath of the wild. All those games look better than kingdom hearts does Time and again I say "switch cant do it!" And I get a firm slap to the face when games are ported to switch anyways
Well I tried the Kingdom Hearts 1 demo and gave up during the opening intro. I’ve played DVDs with like a million scratches on them that’ve been less skippy. Not everyone has flawless internet.
don't worry, cloud services are significantly more expensive to run than just releasing a game. no way that it's going to become something that most games are exclusively released on
Cloud gaming? The potential for it is massive, but we are nowhere near ready. Until we have the tech readily available to handle such things, it shouldn't be touched. And we won't have it for years, nay, decades to come. It shouldn't become standard either. It should become the cheap, lesser option. It can't reach 4k, but 1080 30fps? Totally. It can give options that people don't have the money to drop thousands on a decent PC. Or the time to justify dropping a load for a game that they want to play, but can't, not too often anyways.
@@RainbowDashShadesOfApproval Look, as long as it doesn't become the only option for gaming, I don't really care. As long as we still have full access to files for the sake of game preservation, mods, etc. That's what I really care about.
I think we should ALL take a moment to thank Square Enix for the wonderful idea of keeping this game tied to online always, even if it's a handheld system...and porting games with as much care as the GTA Collection.
I was planning on buying KH for the switch because i wasn't aware of their existence growing up in the 2000s and only hearing great things I was excited to play in in the switch but now after hearing it's a slow and choppy absolute MESS I am going see if i can get a PS4 with KH 1,2,3 (maybe more games of the series if I like it enough)
I haven't looked into it, but I'm curious how the perception of Switch cloud gaming changes depending on the locale. For me in the US, my sustained internet performance is about a quarter of my plan's advertised price (thanks lobbyists, corporations, and political shills), even while hard-wired. The latency is just enough of a problem it detracts from the gameplay experience for me (even without going into the poor visual presentation). I'm sure the closer one is to the servers the better it'll run, but realistically cloud gaming runs counter to what the Switch is meant to be. I worry that SE will look at sales of these versions and think the worse-case scenario regardless of what happens: poor sales = low interest = no reason for native ports versus high sales = high interest = players are fine with cloud versions = no reason for native ports. Unless of course it's all apart of Nomura's plan to make "Cloud Version" part of the lore until a native version is released lol
I honestly think that’s is how Square Enix sees it Either there’s no interest in making a native port or seeing future KH games on Nintendo consoles. Or Cloud version is fine as it is. In reality, they don’t care about why it’s selling poorly
It’s not this bad for me but it’s definitely not always great cloud stuff is just usually too unreliable but for the most part it’s been running fine for me
I've seen a million of these "Kh but cloud version" videos already, it's kinda milked and unoriginal. However, I will say, making one of the trailer is very creative. Your creativity and humor never disappoints me.
The fact that the audio also changes quality subtly enough to just blend right in was a great touch. Glad I avoided these "ports". Which sucks too because when rumors were going around I was really excited to play KH portably but no there's always a catch right Square?
Cloud gaming (something that requires really good internet unless you want lag) on a console with one of the main selling points being portability, simply amazing

Just play the ORIGINAL PS2 titles, then the handhelds. Easy enough
@@Pandacalifornia simple terms PSP 3DS and PS2 games should've worked on a switch without a cloud version
Bruh I feel for those playing it on the switch.
It's not that bad
The games have been out for forever, there's much better options.
@Master Shifu If they just own a switch and nothing else and got decent wifi fine. But this isn't for a majority of the fanbase who most likely own the PC versions, PS4 versions, and older copies of the game out there.
Gullible kid or ppl
@Master Shifu they're not gonna do that. As much as I hate these cloud versions, I'd never be such a stick in the mud that I'll want those who can't afford other consoles, and DON'T WANT TO save up for others consoles to be punished for buying these.
No joke, the Direct started buffering for me once it got to the Kingdom Hearts part, and I laughed so hard it turned into a coughing fit.
Same for me
If I have connection problems while playing this video then theres no way i can play kh on the switch lmao
this needs to become a series for each cloud game that is avialable on switch
Eh, they had more effort than this, ironically... this is just a man holding a petty grudge against a company for 25 years
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. HAHAHAHAHAH
It's sad, and it's true. Especially since I think all of us know that everything before 2.8 could totally run natively on Switch in a heartbeat.
Hopefully we get a non cloud version some day, I'd kill to have the whole series (minus 3 and 0.8) on the go.
0.8? ... You mean Aquas 0.2?
Why wouldn’t you want KH3 and 0.2 on the go??? The entire series would be awesome to have on the go. =3
@@MuffinMythos Would be nice, but the Switch can't handle that without a lot of compression. And yes Venar, I mean 0.2.
@@KingTaltia Ohhh, okie. I thought for a second you were one of those idiots who calls KH3 bad, and didn't want them ported out of spite. (Thankfully you're not, people are ridiculously petty. -3-)
@@MuffinMythos I'm of the mind that the ability that lets you turn off Attraction Flows (except when neccisary) to make you always have Transformations, single-handedly makes KH3's combat the best so far, it's just a shame HOW LITTLE post game content there is in KH3 to make use of it's amazing combat system, especially when compared to KH2.
This wasn't even a minute long and I've already had enough of the issues, they would have to pay me to play all three games this way.
Omg hi git
“The ReMind D” had me rolling
Some where in an alternate reality, gamers have Switch versions of the entire Kingdom Hearts series that actually work.
It's a shame that we're not in that alternate reality.
Maybe it would also be on PC too
That alternate reality has the GameCube winning. That purple failure of a lunchbox beats the PlayStation 2 with full size DVD playback, a wonky yet bearable online service (Melee and Double Dash get big due to this), and Satoru Iwata overthrowing Yamaguchi and playing nice with the developers for a change. If that happened, the rest of Nintendo's consoles would be powerful AND innovative, and revolutionary, to the point that it's playing with itself after the Xbox Ine failed miserably and the PS3 flopped hard due to the insane price point of 600 dollars
@@chronostc4850 They are on pc lol
@@butter7019 Epic Games Store, you mean. I'm not installing that garbage and shelling out $60 for KH when I already own it on my PS4, especially if there is even a slim chance of it going to an actually sustainable platform
You know I was willing to give square Enix the benefit of the doubt with the Kingdom Heart's cloud version's being ported to the Switch but now with recently announced that No Man's Sky is porting nativity to the Switch there is no excuse...
If Witcher 3 can play on the Switch there ain't a hint of an excuse
Yea thats so omega cheap I bought the premium and was about the cloud case to late informed now I play kh1 with lags looool
Don't forget that both DOOM games and Wolfenstein is in the switch
So no excuse at all
@Shoka Lgbt there's no way to beat yozora in 1 hit, even the ULTIMA weapon gives him chunk damage
And that's from looking at the title alone, so YOU have no excuse
Wolfenstein Youngblood
Crysis
Doom Eternal
The Witcher 3
Fortnite
All are playable or at least tolerable on Nintendo Switch
There’s little to NO EXCUSE as to why Square Enix can’t port KH 1.5 + 2.5
Watch this on 144p to get a more accurate experience
When we said we wanted cloud in kingdom hearts this isn't what we meant
PS4 versions: Look and run beautifully
Xbox versions: Also look and run beautifully.
PC versions: Disastrous at first but got better eventually.
Switch versions: You want KH on Switch? Well, here you go. The absolute below minimum we could do. You happy? It doesn’t matter. Give us your cash!
I love how well done this is.
"Painfully playable" had me rolling💀💀💀💀💀
My phone got kicked out of YT while watching the video 😂
This trailer is actually smoother than the actual game
You know irs bad when someone who lives and breathes Kingdom Hearts bashes it
Its sad man, I def would have bought a Switch to play KH on the go.
@Shoka Lgbt that’s because you got good wifi. I have to be in the same room as the router for it to work properly
@Shoka Lgbt stop repeating your comments everywhere, you spread your bullshit all over this place
ReCoded is pretty good for that, I’ve found. lol
This was painful to watch and sit through.....its perfect
I genuinely thought it was going to be a version of the game where you play as Cloud
Should have tied that with a crash report, would have been hilarious.
Kingdom Hearts deserves to have a native port and before you tell me the Switch can't run it:Doom and The Witcher 3 run well! Square Enix needs to quit being lazy and give us a proper port.
For me the witcher 3 was a Nightmare at the switch I sent it back the day after it arrived. Loved the hand at the ps
The Witcher ran just okay on the Swtich. Portable mode is fine but the full screen on TV? Horrible resolution
All those games look better than kingdom hearts does
Time and again I say "switch cant do it!" And I get a firm slap to the face when games are ported to switch anyways
The Witcher 3 does NOT run well
Just imagine how much smoother, longer, thinner and sexier the Sephiroth version will be.
the audio screw is so well done
This is a perfect representation of them I laughed soo hard
Remember when some game companies thought this was a good idea? This is cloud gaming in practice
Stadiaaaaa
All it needs is the connection lost notice at the end.
Finally, an honest trailer.
I feel like I just watched an “Honest Trailer”.
Well I tried the Kingdom Hearts 1 demo and gave up during the opening intro. I’ve played DVDs with like a million scratches on them that’ve been less skippy. Not everyone has flawless internet.
@Shoka Lgbt shut up
Literally died laughing when the guy said "ReMind D" 🤣
From Kingdom Hea- to Kingdom Hea-E and then ReMind-D.
My actual video froze and I thought it was the clip being funny lmao
The amount of money they charge is fkin daylight robbery lmao
If cloud gaming becomes standard, that would be one of the worst things to ever happen to video games. I really, really hope we never get there.
don't worry, cloud services are significantly more expensive to run than just releasing a game. no way that it's going to become something that most games are exclusively released on
Cloud gaming?
@@OmegaMetroid93 game preservation is incredibly important
I think we should ALL take a moment to thank Square Enix for the wonderful idea of keeping this game tied to online always, even if it's a handheld system...and porting games with as much care as the GTA Collection.
Man this really throws me back to dial up and someone trying to make a call.
Its so beautifully perfect, I love it!
Until it’s ported on the Switch itself it’s not worth the purchase. Also well made for it to be accurate. 😂😂
@Shoka Lgbt "I didnt have issues with my internet and connection therefore everyone else's is fake"
Feels like a analogue horror LMAO
The sound changing makes me feel like I'm stroking out on headphones
jajajajajajj I loved how you created this video in a way that perfectly imitates the lag issues when trying to load one.
This is gold lmao, deserves 🥇
I was planning on buying KH for the switch because i wasn't aware of their existence growing up in the 2000s and only hearing great things I was excited to play in in the switch but now after hearing it's a slow and choppy absolute MESS I am going see if i can get a PS4 with KH 1,2,3 (maybe more games of the series if I like it enough)
that moment when the video is edited like it's lagging and you press pause and see that circle bar still rotating...
When you get an ad for the KH collection on Switch, but know its not part of the video because there's no lag
Yeah... Even when I first saw this trailer, I just KNEW it wouldn't be any good. Good thing I already have the collections separately
DANG I’ve never seen something so accurate..
I love like how the KH Cloud version ad plays before this video starts Lolol
Omg, I laughed so hard at just how well done this is. Good job!
More well done than the actual ports
Watching this trailer is like hearing nails on a chalkboard. Unbearable! 😂
I honestly think that’s is how Square Enix sees it
Either there’s no interest in making a native port or seeing future KH games on Nintendo consoles. Or Cloud version is fine as it is.
In reality, they don’t care about why it’s selling poorly
This ages better every day
The fact that there was a KH cloud version ad on this video makes it so much better 🤣🤣
Guess I'm not the only one
Savage 🤣
It’s not this bad for me but it’s definitely not always great cloud stuff is just usually too unreliable but for the most part it’s been running fine for me
You're a genius for making this.

Ah yes my favorite games, Kingdom Hear and Kingdom Hear *E*
And the Re Mind dee ee 😂
I've seen a million of these "Kh but cloud version" videos already, it's kinda milked and unoriginal. However, I will say, making one of the trailer is very creative. Your creativity and humor never disappoints me.
LMFAOAOAOAO 🤣😪😂😂😂😭😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂
This is so well made it's almost enjoyable
This is painfully so accurate
When the audio went SD I lost my shit, well done lol
The fact that the audio also changes quality subtly enough to just blend right in was a great touch. Glad I avoided these "ports". Which sucks too because when rumors were going around I was really excited to play KH portably but no there's always a catch right Square?
So well done i thought me PC was dying for a bit
Square Enix: Nah, there's no way that the switch could handle a 2002 PS2 game.
I think the biggest middle finger was releasing it on cloud
You guys got Sora in Smash. This is how you paid for it.
Cloud gaming (something that requires really good internet unless you want lag) on a console with one of the main selling points being portability, simply amazing
I legitimately thought it was my phone signal for a second I’m cackling
I got the actual ad before this played. It was hilarious
I thought CZcams was lagging xD
There was a moment when the video was buffering, and I had to rewind to see if that was a part of the video or not.
I saw a comment mentioning shorts and i gotta tell ya, re-uploading this as a shorts specific might blow up xD
I love how when I have headphones on, the audio sounds different every three seconds
Can't believe I got an ad for this game before I watched the video.
Oh my GOSH you’ve REALLY captured the annoyance of lag in this video lol
I feel like I just experienced a piece of art.
This is so accurate I thought my phone was lagging
Amazing execution of a video. This is the best representation of what alot of players are going to experience. Impressive.
LMAOOOOO I thought my phone tripping my dude 😂😂😂😂
I lost it at “ and the re-ind D-ee” (and the remind dlc) being completely broken lmao
I genuinely thought I was having problems with my wifi at several points while watching this, lmao
i thought the long pause was part of the video but after 15 seconds i realized that my wifi was disconnected
Lmaoo the way Goofy and Donald grabbed sora’s face like that at 0:24 😭
Gave me the vibe of a CZcams poop in that moment
At the start I thought my phone was lagging, then went OHHHH 😅
