This happened a couple of years ago in New Zealand where instead of a resort it was a tourist boat. Some people died in that trip.

I’ve been to Volcanoes National Park on the big island of Hawaii. The main crater is the size of the island of Manhattan. After seeing that I decided it’s best to stay as far from a volcano as you can.
While I am aware that there are tourists attractions next to volcanoes, dormant or active, but no matter the eruption is dangerous or not, this is why we have seismometers to predict a future eruption to allow the visitors to evacuate as early as they can before the volcano blows. Seriously, aren't there any geologists, seismologists, and volcanologists on this island with the company? How dumb is this CEO?

The obvious answer is, there would be no movie. Its simply the need of a plot for us to watch. Otherwise it would be 2 hours of people being safely evacuated before an eruption.
Believe me I asked the same questions too. My biggest one was Jurassic Park having scientists brilliant enough to resurect dinosaurs but not know of an existing frog that could asexually reproduce.

@@paulsynnott2709 Somewhere in Hollywood a scriptwriter in combining the two movies, with a cannibal tribe at the resort that has a tradition of timing the lava flows as 'cooking times', a leg=30 mins, rack of rib over open lava pit & grill 10 mins (in foil)-flip & remove foil, then over lava for another 7-8 mins
Does there always have to be some kid crying and unable to do anything but put someone in danger to save them?
Drama. And it saves on VFX. If you have a 2 minute VFX-heavy scene, and you can spend 30 seconds of it on close-up shots of some crying child no one has ever seen before, it not only saves you 25% on your cgi budget, but it gives the scene some artificial and undeserved tension.
Never build a tourist elevator in the crater of a volcano.

It’s very funny and cartoonish tough, like an old timey movie. The effects are so unrealistic and the acting is so weird than it’s more comedic than gruesome.

Why did they build it? Doesn't anyone realsie that as soon as you build any type of theme park next to a volcano, it is guaranteed to erupt? It's just how mature works.

I think I saw this movie recently. I'm a disaster movie addict, to the point of watching foreign language disaster movies, even though I only speak English and a little high school German. I've watched movies and TV shows from about a dozen different countries, and I'm almost always able to follow what's going on, so the fact that this is in Chinese didn't bother me. For some reason, I like the challenge involved in watching foreign language shows. It also gives me access to more shows.😊 I like a comment from another poster, that this movie is kind of like Jurassic Park, but with a volcano instead.😂
