Brian. Wow, now that's what I call a hu-u-u-ge crash for a hu-u-u-ge plane, keeping things real and light for your followers, and giving us something to think about the next time we hit the park to fly. And for a little extra clarity, those last few frames look even more amazing in 1/4 speed playback. Your video crew got the shots, held nothing back and stuck with it until the very last piece of foam. When it comes to RC education, your channel is one of the best for product reviews, build outs, setups and flights. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you, sincerely! Megan never skips a beat, even when I'm skipping a few in a row - LOL / Cry
Sorry to see that one! Happy to hear that you called it a stall, though. Theres been more than one pilot who can't own up to making a mistake. Take those electronics and toss 'em into the Nemo version!
Yep, agreed. He called it and owned it. Have to respect that
Great video! Sorry for the loss
thank you for doing these videos
with a little touchup paint, you'll be fine
Every plane has an expiration date.
Brian’s Plains at least three out of 10 have an expiration date of maiden flight or two
Sorry about that. Nice that you didn't edit that out. It's part of the hobby. Appreciate your videos.
Sorry for your loss!
Nice crash! Looks like a glue party tonight lol
Bummer buddy! I appreciate how well you took it = ) True professional. This stuff happens. Another super enjoyable video. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks, and yeah, this was a bummer, and 100000% pilot error, but goes to show you what you CAN do it if and when you forget gravity doesn't discriminate - LOL / Cry ;)
I sure enjoy your videos-you're an excellent commentator, informative, and always upbeat.
Thanks! We're glad you're here with us!
Love your channel and bought this plane (and many others) after watching your videos. I try to buy through your links as much as possible. Sorry to see this crash was a total loss. You are a great pilot and it happens every now and again. Gave you some mad props on my FMS review on my source of rc products. Keep up the great content!
Really sorry to see the crash and probably total loss, but...that said...it's great to see you show how we all make mistakes and things DO HAPPEN! You're an awesome pilot and I enjoy the videos every day!
Thanks, and exactly! I know I crash at least ;) Anyone watching needs to see how things CAN end, but that's like the "spice of life"...and thank GOD this gets less and less frequent when you're more and more experienced, but to be frank, if I'm gonna fly 'em like bats outta hell, they're gonna crash like bats outta hell, at least from time to time ;)
I love flying too much to fear the occasional crash. It does keep you on your toes for a bit afterwards!
Thanks again for being here with us!
No worries!!
It happens! 👍
It’s beyond clear you’re a killer RC pilot!
I’ve had spectacular crashes in the years of the balsa/monokote models where there was nothing left bigger than a popsicle stick! 😂
I’ve also crashed my PZ P-47D Thunderbolt foamy in a similar condition and it was far worse than this!!! 😂
I glued it back together and it still flies to this day!
For viewers new to the hobby, he saved this plane!!
If he wanted to, he could rebuild it with foam safe CA and epoxy.
In short, basically anything can be rebuilt and I can testify to that! 😂
Crashing and rebuilding is just part of the hobby.
It happens to even the best like this cat!
If he wasn’t on the sticks, believe you me, it would be 10x worse!!! Haha
Happy flying!
Win some lose some Really enjoy your videos keep up the good work👍🏼
Thank you for showing the reality of rc flying Brian, was an incredible flight, great episode 🙂
Very welcome, it's an investment in "what not too do" - LOL - I feel like we've done much crazier with this plane, but sometimes the time and place is PERFECT for a complete loss crash
You win some, you lose some. Keep up the good work Brian, and don't stop saying thank you to your "Camera Crew". Wishing you both the best.
100% - Thanks, and will do!
Yep look forward to ur repair video hopefully
Sorry to disappoint, but not this one. She's a bit too far gone for repairs ;(...
"These planes can take off and land in a short space just like a real one" - yes
And as we all know from experience they can also stall just like a real one - I have done that many times....sorry for your loss Brian.
I will say, as someone who owns this plane. At slow speeds the differential thrust with rudder inputs does bite pretty good. As my first RC mentor told me "if you ain't crashing, you ain't flying" Can't wait for the next vid 🤙
Totally agree ;)
Beautiful plane.. stuff happens.. great videos.. love the channel..👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻..😎
Brian, thanks for keeping it real. Warts and all.
So sad...I love the look of that plane. Thanks for showing us. I'm glad I'm not the only one who crashes.
$65.00 for a fuselage. Wings $45.00 a piece no motors. looks like a cheap repair for a $$$$ plane. not a total loss. i love rebuilding them" have to im a terrible pilot". Eyes to the Sky.
I'd love to see that rebuild as a video. It happens and would take some of the "sting" out for others to see it live again.
Add some vortex generators out on the wing tips and it will greatly improve the low speed turning ability, I made some out of a plastic orange juice container and super glued them on, works great!
That big foot 🦶 just lifted a tree and gave you a marco reviews day! Glad to see some of the plane is salvageable. About time for the government to disclose how big foot is also responsible for FAA regulations of doom! Love y’all!
If you think the mosquito's are bad now just wait until your pond is in!!
Oddly.... 2/3 acre pond right outside my home, loaded with blue gill and bass, and hardly any mosquitos. They can't resist breeding in the pond, and the fish dine on the larvae like its caviar! So... Brian.... GET FISH.
@@Brestae Very good advice !
@@Brestae You don't fish in that pond do you, lol
@@davidkarr214 Not so much since I retired. Fishing's a big stress reliever so I used to walk out and go fishing while sitting on tense conference calls for work.
와! 진심으로 truly CRAZY!!! I want it!!!
It’s funny you just came out with this video because I watched your videos about this plane multiple times in the last few days. Sorry bout the crash. But at least now I know more about the plane!
Don’t worry, that’ll buff right out! LOL! Keep the great content coming BPRC (warts-n-all)!
Keepin' it real! Sorry it happened. I have been there once, twice, three times, or more. 😅
woo, whoa, woo! Dude I laughed for 20 minutes! GREAT blooper this,ll make😂😂
nice ;)
love your stuff Bry me and my kid are just getting back into RC so what you do is important and does provide some laughs so fully rounded love it ! hey to Megan too, an excellent photographer❤ without her this wouldn't happen and we all know that out here
Oh no! 😢 So sorry, Mark
New sub here, man you have some serious skills and its been inspiring the fire out of me , I pickep au an Aeroscout a couple weeks ago and i am in love. You teach me so much man, so big ups and much love to you and the camera crew, thanks so much and God Bless yall.
Awesome! Thank you! So glad you took the plunge!!!
It's a beast.
Happens to the best of us! All apart of the hobby 😊
for sure, but still a bummmmmmmer ;)
Daamn Brian, that was hard....and escalated quickly....:(
Sorry to see this happen, Brian, but respect your example of honesty! I good lesson for all R/C pilots. 👍🏻🙂
Sorry for the loss man, looked like the infamous accelerated stall...
Ahh man Brian!.... I can imagine your pain. But great flight as always
I have one of these. It doesn't like to fly slow in turns. I have to remember to keep throttle up when turning. Straight line flys nice and slow, scale like. I put a sound system in mine. Beautiful looking plane.
Sorry about the crash Brian. It would be great to see a repair video if she isn't damaged to badly🤞. Thanks for the excellent content! 💯✈️👍
I hit a pothole on the runway and the left prop hit the ground and ripped the motor off. Somehow the only thing to break was the foam nacelle and was able to buy a replacement for $10 and it looks like new now.
I have flown this on a 3s 5000mah hard case lipo. The best way to describe it on 3s is a bigger apprentice.
Very cool! Thanks, and sorry about your nacelle...I noticed both of mine kinda blewed up a bit too....BUT also lost the props, and the fuse too - LOL / Cry
Bank angle for full size C-130 is 60 degrees before stall. I think you demonstrated that perfectly in the model. Nice review and have been thinking of picking one up. A guy at my field flys it 3D.
Sorry to see this, but props for admitting the error!
We all make errors, and being able to see them and admit them makes you the better pilot for sure!
I can 100% trust a pilot who admits their mistake, because they(we) learn from it. But conversely I have issues with deniers, and on occasion they make me nervous to be around when they're flying.
100% Mistakes are made. One of the best ways to become a better pilot is admitting our own mistakes and trying to learn from them.
Now I just need to ACT on what I learned, which was don't do that thing...LOL
@@BrianPhillipsRC Totally! BTW..... I should say that there are obviously many different styles of YT presentation but yours is exactly what I like to see in a review video. Straight into the flying, and then perhaps a model investigation thereafter. Exactly what i want to know about any prospective model. Keep up the good work!
Ouch!
Sorry to see you crash. Looks repairable though. I like that you keep it real 😊
You're welcome, just wish it were in a less painful way - LOL - "keeping it real" - LOL
Patiently waiting for the new freewing 64mm F-14!
I am glad you own up to the mistake. Stuff happens even to the greatest RC pilots. I agree this plane is amazing the V2 EC1500 is a keeper. I love to fly mine. Wonder if your going to do a repair video installing a new fuse and wing pod? That would be a great video. Sorry for your loss of such a great plane.
I love this channel very much and I am very sorry about what happened to you. I don't think it was a pilot error, but a wrong setup. From your comments in the video I gathered that you fly with differential thrust. Never fly with differential trust in curves because the stall tendency of the inner surface increases due to the reduction in propeller speed and the reduction in airflow speed. Maybe I am wrong, but I have already had to try it out the hard way with my HU 16 Albatros. Best wishes from Bavaria!
Appreciate your flying things at the edge of the low speed envelope so we can check it out. Of course, low and slow leaves no margin for error so incidents will happen every now and then unless you overcompensate the other way and approach / land unnecessarily fast which is what most RC pilots do it seems.
Dear Brian Phillips and camera crew, I wanted to say that I love your channel a lot guys. Thank you for making real, honest RC planes videos for us! I'm sorry for the crash. It happens to all of us, you know what they say... you ain't crashing you ain't flying... part of this amazing hobby! thank you for what you do ❤🛩
I also wanted to write that your unboxing & build videos help me a lot when I assemble my planes, Thank You for showing every single step, which screw go where, etc. I appreciate it a lot. Thank you so much. :)
And by the way Brian you are a really good pilot! your flying skills are impressive and I always enjoy watching you fly and listening to your awesome commentary :)
I didn't see that hillside jump out either.😳
We will always remember it 😢 rip ec 1500
That wasn't a stall that was a classic "radio lockout" ;)
LOL - It's definitely wasn't a barrel roll, it was a pilot-error-roll - NEW PUN - I knew something good could come from this crash!!!
First takeoff - just making sure the cargo I secured 🤣
LOL - EXACTLY!
DOGGONIT my friend. Got bit, happens to us all. You took it quite well. My rule of thumb is to immediately get another plane up in the air and don't look back.
It does. Happens to everyone. And your advice is exactly right... get back up in the air and just fly again. We did and had a great flight. Thanks, Brad!
@@BrianPhillipsRC 👍❤️
You may have crashed but damn you sure can fly dude..
That's very nice of you to say!
Nice! Used to jump out of those things. Flying wouldn't be any fun without a good crash every now and then! Lol
This takes the sting out of the two crashes I had last weekend down a touch.
Well, not really. 😒
Had a very similar stall with my Carbon Z150t but just by luck i was slightly higher and made a recover just before the "total loss" 😅 If you dont crash then you arent flying. Thanks for the videos Brian!
Dang I hate to see that. It is such a beautiful plane and awesome to watch fly, but not into the ground unfortunately. It looks repairable to me. I've done that same move on my T-28 1.2 and T-28 1.1 and both are repaired and flying. 👍
chattering non-stop even after a crash :D
Finally a crash video!!!! He IS a real human like the rest of us!!
LOL - Thanks, but we do crash all the time ;) Or at least it feels like it.
Had the same issue with the timber X those planes are just too heavy for the wing you have…. Nice flying up until that point, the dump was cool too
another amazing review. love it. can you review XK K127 rc heli please and is that good for beginners ?
Man, that sucker was out of control. Then I realized I was watching a previous video on 1.5 speed. I THOUGHT you were really UP on the intro. Finally remembered to change the channel speed, things looked a lot more reasonable and then..... Oh well, I can still watch the first half again. When ya fly a heavy like a 3D. Oh well, accelerated stalls really nail that accelerated part, don't they?
yes, she can get into an over-controlled condition super quick, and easy, if you push it at the wrong time. 100% pilot error here, but it was still a bummmmer ;)
Hi guys!!!
Was thinking of you this morning while on the road. Brilliant sunshine, clear blue skies and crazy stupid high March winds.
Sorry about your boo boo with that Bird.
If you collected all of her parts, hit me up.... I think with all of the power she has, a pair of floats would be in her future on my end.
What a cool fun project she would be.
Can you picture her doing water ops?
Cheers from The Great State of Confusion, Maryland!
Bummer, wow, damn sketoooo, that is what happened.
What is your favorite foam glue - Thank You !
Hate to see it happen, but got a lot of pleasure from seeing it! 😢 sorry Bryan!!
Darn Brian, was going to offer Crazy Eddy up to paint an Iowa Arctic scheme. Jeff in LA USA
Well, it's already EXTRA camo now ;) It quite literally BLENDED in with the surroundings - LOL!!!
Different subject but the blade 230s heli rtf doesn't come with battery and charger. Thought they did anyone know why they dont now.
Well if its beyond repair I'm hoping that I'll be able to repair as much as possible i am surprised some still don't offer the fuselage on its own so as to make cost effective. 😅
I don't think I'll repair this one. Gravity won.
Rock hard landing! #stayepic ❤❤❤
Sorry for the loss. Can I have parts?
Bummer!
Gravity 1 - Brian 0 - LOL ;)
It can happen to all of us ! Hope you can fix her. Blessings from the Rolex Drone channel and more in Ireland ❤️ Eamon
Brian you didn't even get to drop poppers out of it! R.I.P ec1500😔
RIP to the ec1500. Now I have a question and need some advice from the lovely people here because I am struggling to make a decision on a new radio and plane. I started about a month ago with a carbon cub S2 1.3m and can fly it in expert mode fairly easy but still striving to get better. The plane I am working towards mainly is draco because I absolutely love that plane but really need some recommendations for my second plane and really want one with flaps and preferably bind and fly because I want to learn everything. Next issue I need some advice on is a nice programmable radio that will last a while. I would love a touch screen radio but I could live without it and I originally was eyeing the spektrum ix14 but just to expensive for now so I have narrowed it down to 2 maybe 3 possible choices which are the nx10 which is the no touch screen option or the radiomaster tx16s mark 2 max 4 in 1 or I have read that its a possibility to use a frsky x20s with a 4 in 1 module on the bind and fly planes. The majority of planes that I will be flying will be mainly horizon bind and fly or PNP and from FMS. I will be flying some helicopters in the mix to so please if anybody can throw some advice my way on the radio options and some recommendations on a plane I will be so so very grateful because I feel like I am drowning in a sea of transmitters lol. I have watched sooo many reviews and setup vids on these radios it is truly nuts and it all boils down do I want to deal with the complexity of the radiomaster or frsky so I can have my touch screen or lose the touch screen for the less complex programming option. PS truly sorry for the super long winded comment but trying to give all the information needed to give advice
It seems that all of my twin engines have had a moment where one side stalls and the other side, strong, causing a spin. Most of my crashes over the last three or four years have been from twin engine planes.
Bummerdude
totally - bummmmmer, and yet, she lived a good, albeit short life ;)
Whoa! I hope you have a back up 😅 I have back ups for all my favorites. Sorry dude.
This is epic 😅 and that’s what makes the hobby fun, literally my reaction when I crash I never blame the planes unless it’s a dyna…….da da dee 😂
Exactly ;)
RIP (rest in pieces)
Should buff out
LOL - exactly!
wow - that broke apart fairly easily....
SHHHTUFF HAPPENS. I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT WILEY CAYOTE WHEN HIS NOSE GOT SMASHED IN AND IT SOUNDED LIKE A ACCORDIAN WHEN HE WALKED.
I think that you have THE PERFECT Wife !!! No, hollering or screaming about what a terrible pilot you are. The NTSB found that you killed everyone on board.
Wow, one of your shortest videos ever !
Some toothpicks and glue makes it as good as new.
It Happens. Tree/Ground eating plane.
You can rebuild it! lol
LOL - Probably not on this one.
That thing is HUMONGOUS ! crashed 😞 Look at the bright side, no need to make room for it in the house.
The Camera Crew was NOT sad about that part ;) But she'll be missed.
I sure hope you take the time to put humpty dumpty back together! ....or ship it to me!
Hi there. Can I make a suggestion (request 😀) for a video please? Something to the effect of "make your first flights stress free"
I'm a naturally careful guy (50 year old engineer and never broken any of my 10 RC cars) but I'm just about to get into planes (almost certainly with a 800mm Draco, a 1.5m Crescendo, and an NX7e transmitter) and I'm thinking about my procedure for my first few flights (probably just use the glider for my first 10 or so flights to gently get the hang of things before then gently using the small Draco)
I want to do everything possible to minimise the stress of worrying about crashing, to feel like I'm making logical progression with each flight, and to ultimately stay safe and do everything in my power to not trash my planes.
I'm familiar with pre-flight checks of safe flying area, control surfaces, correct operation of AS3X and SAFE, so I'm thinking more about keeping the first handful of flights fully in safe mode, just doing very gentle circles and figure 8's, practising gentle glide in's for landings, getting used to controls being reversed coming towards you, etc. Then, being aware of not getting overconfident too soon, start taking it up higher and things to practice out of safe mode.
A video covering all of this sort of stuff could be really helpful to beginners 👍
Gentlemen, we can rebuild it, faster, stronger...we have the technology.
Or will you replace it orr will you upgrade Nimo with the electronics?? I think I'd actually try to do BOTH!!
Big bummer bro, it happens....
AirHammer out!!
Very nice - LOL
Brian, your final thoughts?
LOL - It WAS just too good ;)
Why were you flying it on such a huge lipo pack? flys great on a 3300 4s
