  • The largest populated city in Japan has days were passengers are packed in like a can of sardines on their commute to work.

    This is Asakusa Subway Line in Tokyo and its system directs Haneda Airport-Narita Airport.
    This is crowded for this line, but some line (such as Yamanote Line) is as crowded as this.

    Wow, it’s just ridiculous. Over here there comes a point where people just say “Huh, guess the train’s full.” People just don’t seem to do that in Japan, until it’s absolutely ridiculous, I’m kinda impressed. It must be a nightmare if you got on first and travelled along 10 stops then need to get out. I wonder if trains ever get delayed because they couldn’t shut the doors?

    Sydney uses double-decker trains and like all Australian (and American) cities, population isn’t even that dense. So why can’t very densely populated cities use those?

    But they want to be on time and they stay in office for long hours. They need to stagger working hours
